It doesn't break my heart to see a lack of fin funnels. The Nu Gundam is my favorite MS, but on the kits, even when done really well like on the RG, they're really floppy and fiddly. I know that the fixed funnels on that one Build Divers kit got poo-pooed pretty bad, but Bandai can absolutely make a properly color separated fixed version of the fin funnels, which I would be all over.
Oh yeah, the parts for the "Fake Nu Gundam" are sold separately for some reason. But at least 2 of the Fin Funnels are functional.
It will surely be an “add-on” option kit they’ll sell later. Probably including the Bazooka and maybe some effect parts. I say this because they sold the rest of the weapons for the RX-78 entry grade in an add on option kit later and even a new ‘all in one’ box. So if anyone is interested in this Nu- I’d just hold out for that to likely come out later.
There's also the special version that is of the full sized variant Nu which has a canon for the back that looks cool.

You say this, but both the high grade Nu fin funnels (which are compatible with this kit and have the same connection), and the original MG Nu fin funnels are both solid as a rock. They just messed up the fin funnel connections on the RG and Ver Ka Nu.
The shadow on the eye actually makes it looks more like a green light effect coming from the eye in a distance
These Entry Grades are a great introduction for Gunpla to beginners. The snap build is fun and simple with the finished Gundam looking amazing. It's a step beyond First Grades for sure.
Only problem is now everyone wants mass production mobile suits instead of Gundams for even easier army building

If you're talking about the U.C. First Grades then those were designed to replicate the first Gunpla release not necessarily an intro for builders.
@@reijigamer Well from my experience I built the 00 Gundam First grade and that was my introduction to Gunpla, it even came with a pamphlet about grades and scales.
It is very nice to see the entry grade line kits have good non sticker heads. Hoping the HG line of gundam kits would get a similar treatment.
It's a nice kit, let's just say this is the Nu Gundam final battle ver when all his weapon already gone and the punching Sazabi scene before the axis drop.
The entirety of detail and engineering that’s going into Gunpla now is basically jumping all tiers up a level.
Back in the early 2000s I had built a bunch of the HG Wing Gundam kits and they basically had this level of detail. They’d be considered Entry grade by today’s standards.
I really want to get the Fukuoka version of this kit, since it comes with that massive long-range funnel! It'll be easier to justify getting the RG Nu and that then two versions of the same design.
Now I just have to either wait for Ebay prices to settle down or start planning a trip to Kyushu lol
I've been loving the custom builds I've been seeing using the EG Nu Gundam, it looks like a pretty great kit. Hopefully they'll do what they did with the RX-78-2 and release one with a bazooka and fin funnels as a full armament kit.
My only gripe from this kit are the C clips type joint used in the knees. I'm afraid those will turn into wet noodles at a fast rate similar to my leo and 30minutes missions kits.
I gave some the build divers fake nu funnels from the fake nu weapons to my EG Nu Gundam and they fit the backpack perfectly! Honestly good enough for me to use that cheap set instead of buying the whole HG Nu Gundam
This kit is great, one thing this kit does better is the head sculpt. The head is perfect and the face is long as it should. The RG face looks so tiny and it leave a HUGE gap between the chin and torso....that's why the RG neck looks so long....
Thats the reason I passed on that kit. Its so cute. The menace is gone
Just got mine today and it is really simple to build. This is going to be just as much fun to paint based on the construction.
In the middle of an entry grade strike project (hand painting practice, going with a royal purple and sky blue paint scheme) and the strike looks pretty cool (for a strike) but this looks so much better. I am guessing that since these aren't marketed to actual gundam fans, that is why this one is missing the funnels.
I just built this a few days ago. Very impressed by the CCA proportions and the shoulder edges are sharp. I’m painting it in the Titanium Finish scheme (gloss/black trim/gold/white) for the wifey. It has the beefiness of the MG Ver.Ka but the simplistic look of being anime accurate from CCA. Damn it I’m buying another one for myself lol
I think it looks better than the HG version but it also all of a sudden makes the RG version a lot better looking by comparison. I am never a fan of the short RG face and also not so sure about the calf armor design of the RG as well. That said after replacing the short face with a bootleg longer one from a bootleg HMB its face overall appearance have been improved and I started to like the RG a lot more. The level of details vs the EG is such a night and day showcase. I only wish that the RG Nu had the more refined details like the RG Hi-Nu instead of what it has now.

First thought that struck me when I saw this and the fact it didn't come with the funnels was it'd be perfect for making the RX-94 Mass Production Type Nu.

At the price of 1,000 yen, this is an awesome looking kit! Even without the funnels, it still looks great. Perfect kit for working on the scribing technique. I was wondering, will you be able to get your hands on the Fukuoka versions? There are RG and also entry grade, but from what I can see, they're only available at the Fukuoka Gundam Base, not even at the Tokyo one!
finally a modern Nu that's not hyper detailed 🙏 I do prefer this over the HG so swapping th funnels, I'm pretty happy
I am sure they will end up releasing a complete Entry Nu Gundam set just like they did with the RX-78. It's a regular release and easy to find at Target here in the US
I am looking forward to building a mass produced version of the nu gundam if and when I get this kit.
That yellow of the inner frame in waist makes it look like wearing a diaper i need to paint it black
if this were to come with fin funnels, it wouldn't be floppy as I believe it would've been two or three seperate pieces (white, navy, yellow) just sandwiched which honestly would've been pretty great

Kinda weird now that Entry Grade is becoming better than the HG line. These new EG models prove that they can do color separation without the use of so many stickers, or any at all, so whoever is in charge of the HG line needs to step their game up.
Don't be so sure.
Granted, colour separation wise the EG can't be beat, but when it comes to stability and longevity, they're barely a step above the old RG Zeta Gundam of the HGIBO Gundam Frames.
There is certain thing that HG is still better. Mainly the joint design & strength. Hate those C-clip joints. Mine 78-2 & Strike both kits are already loose.
Man, i hope the Entry Grade take off some more. We need more kits

It would not surprise me if Bandai started pre-panel lining parts at some point.
I have the HGUC and didn't a need to get this. But then I had a good idea for one: Titan's Colors.
Since they haven't released the aile backpack for strike gundam, I assume that they wont be releasing nu entry with fin funnels...I'd be thrilled if they do though..
Just gonna wait for the Weapon/Funnel kit.
i know for this build, i would def make it its "final loadout" version, so to speak. like i dont remember exactly, but i think it had none of its fin funnels left, only its standard beam saber and i think a Geara Doga's Beam Machine Gun?
I haven’t tried to see if they fit. But I am going to use the funnels from the fake nu weapons kit. I’ll let you know how that goes.

I was wondering if the RG beam saber effects fit in the EG beam saber handle?
This is not going to be accurate, but I think that the fin funnels from the Fake V weapons from Build Divers Re:Rise might work.

Edit: Is it mostly the HG? Most parts look near identical.
give it time, bandai will release with fin funnel version, just like grandad with simple rifle first, then released with full weapon set and saber effect some time later
I heard people say they slapped the Fin Funnels of the HG Fake Nu Gundam from Gundam Build Divers on this because the Fin Funnels were already sold separately on their own without the entire Suit, lol.
I wonder if I can use 1987 1/144 Nu gundam's fin funnel on this kit instead 🤔
The hollow space on the side of the knee kind of bugs me. Is it possible to cover it without affecting the articulation?
My nitpick is that I hope that the missiles in the shield and thrusters at the back are molded in separate colors.
it's a pretty fair point about the thrusters there..
Easy fix with paint. Entry Grade supposed to be aimed for kids and beginners so they aren't perfect.
do the stickers peel off and stick on or do u need to use water?
Honestly kind of wishing they don't announce a full-armed version of this kit with the fin funnels and bazooka, because I'll be really mad that I pre-ordered an inferior version lol
Wow both Universe and Entry Grade at least for Gundam Nu doesn’t include beam sabers for the saber hilts. I can’t do Model Kits. I can only do the entry grade Gundam 78-X and the 2017 Gundam universal units.
I build my a few days ago I use the fin funnel used in fake v gundam from build fighters cause I don't have a alus core gundam and at the time I'm customizing my scramble gundam
But end up not using it cause it would look like hot scramble gundam which is I am not trying to go for the look

Honestly, any new 1/144 kit of the Alex would be welcome. The older kit is certainly showing its age

Yes? I believe the EG is made to be compatible with all the HGUC accessories but I’m not 100% certain

I hate the new gates used for the entry grade line. They are rounded and they touch the pieces so it's impossible to use clippers on the pieces.
I know they want us to rip the parts using hands but I cannot do it! I'm too scared to ruin the pieces.
Did you find a good way to separate the parts from the sprue in a perfect way? Or you are using your hands too?
I cut them with nippers but you definitely need sharp single-blade nippers to try to cut a little of the round gate away
@@ZakuAurelius i use tamiya sidecutter and i barely can reach the parta. I try to cut half of the "ball" bit It,s hard to do
does the Fake nu funnels accessory work on the entry grade nu?

Why dont they do entry grades for grunt suits? Who doesnt want to build an army of grunts or use them for dioramas where they are exploding or melting or with other type of damage?
Because they would rather you buy the higher priced HGUC version
Entry Grade isn't just an entry point into Gunpla but an entry point to the Gundam franchise. Having only the main protagonist MS in this line makes it easy for someone to pick up a kit and easily find the anime series for it. Also, HGs like the Leo and Windam have set a trend for easy to assemble and low cost grunt suits.
I recently built the RX-78-2 entry grade and was impressed. I'll have to try the Strike, and this kit looks like another winner. Good on Bandai for making some great looking kits that allow beginners to get hooked on gunpla. It worked with me!
The Entry Grade Strike is pretty good, but it’s not as good as the RX-78-2 & the Nu Gundam

Probably like a 30MM kit, IBO MS design is awesome, I love it, but I hate the models except for the MG Barbatos.

imagine all the missing colors that would come of it, especially if all the HGs had to use a TON of stickers.....
A gundam frame should have a locking mechanism like an action base with a lock switch. So that way it can hold big weapons like a Mace.
i think there's gonna be a set with all of the weapons, just like with the EG Rx 78-2, but for the price alone it's worth to buy one of these,
in most countries here in latin america is almost impossible to get a Gunpla for less than 5 times it's original price, so with cheaper model kits like the entry grade ones, at least we'll be able to get one for about 30-40 USD

The one thing that worries me with this EG's are those fragile hip joints; I already broke the one on my RX-78-2. Any ways to rectify that?
Drill a hole trough the joint and insert a piece of metal rod inside it

The EG RX-78-2 is shit. Especially when you compare side by side with other EG kits. That one piece hand design is shit. Torso keep become flimsy can't stay on when you pose.
@@casvalcat3546 I keep seeing people say theirs loosen up over time even without moving or posing them. But both of mine have held up beautifully. If anything, some of their joints are too tight. Weird.
