The way you introduce advanced science to help livestock develop makes me very touched and excited, because my own country has not yet been able to develop such things. Thank you for giving me more vision. to the world and specifically the livestock industry 😊

I’m dipping in and out of your channel as I am watching so much CZcams content on farming and other topics these days but I must say I love your content. Keep up the good work. Best wishes, Tony.

Wow - I was right back in the smells of lambing there. Vividly remember the smell of the powdered milk being made up. That is a cracking good shed set up as well. Miss our family farm everyday. Love your videos.

Hi Nicola, you have a great investment in the milking machine. You never know how each ewe and her lambs will go feeding at the start. To have an up to date 'Nanny' to feed the bottle babies is an excellent idea. The lambs can drink 24 hrs a day, just as if they were drinking from their mothers. Your life should be a bit easier and you should not have to sleep in the shed. Its good you have a local business who can make your specific gates when the original suppler lets you down. The shed is working so well with the sheep in there now and thats a tribute to you, your mum and dad for designing a wonderful duel purpose animal shed that keeps them dry. Good Luck with the lambing. Chris from Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺.

Oh yes both the automatic milk machine and lambing shed are worthwhile investments--I had a semi automatic milker for my lambs-it kept the milk I made for lambs warm in a water bath which had a fish tank heater. Home made but it worked very well. Funny you are using a 2l jug like just like the one I had for calf/lamb milk . Do "they" still make "em? Your videos tell the story as it is--the good and the bad day to day. So enjoyable --we have a chuckle now and again!

I trained my first Border Collie in the early 80s. The instructor was Danish, but lived in Sweden. I bought my first sheepdog from him. She achieved shared first place at a competition in the DK. I have had herding dogs ever since. In the late 90s I bought an Australian kelpie and still have an Australian kelpie. The instructor advised that the only treat for herding dogs was the cooperation of shepherd, dog, sheep. No pills, clicks, or biscuits where you would experience a dog that was on hand all the time and not at work. Two years ago I took in a kelpie who was encouraged with treats. She was eight years old. Arhh it's hard, but I love her as a companion dog. The sheep, Gotland Fur sheep, have been gone for many years, but I have good company with a shepherd dog and she knows what I'm up to before I know it myself. love the intelligent herding dogs. The reward was to see the sheep and lambs in the barn before bed. The sheep fattened up, the lambs lay on their mothers and in the straw. The dog went round and sniffed them all and all were quiet and calm. Mutual respect and cooperation.

Great video Nicola that’s a great piece of kit can I ask when you have a triplet do you put that lamb onto a single ewe or does it go straight into them pens as a pet 👌

Great to see the first of many lambs in a superb set up Nicola. Does the milk machine mix up a batch on a timer or is it when the container get emptied, that it automatically refills for adlib suckling?
