I was a truck driver, back home every week. When home, the mechanics would go over everything, and repair/replace anything needed. One day they replaced a tire and forgot to tighten the lug nuts. I was driving north out of California, a long empty stretch on a Saturday night, and those lug nuts had finally had enough. The tire came loose, and to me, it felt like i was driving on grease, or ice. The truck slid sideways. I was lucky, no one else was near me at the time, and there were no ditches at the shoulder. I was able to get the truck to the side without too much trouble and had to sit there until monday morning to get a repair truck out to help me. It was inconvenient, but I had food and movies, and I was fine. Just kinda bored. And it could have been MUCH worse! You asked in this compilation how the tires could have come off, and I remembered this happening to me.

Most newer vehicles today have backup cameras. Either that one didn't, or the driver wasn't watching it. What could we have EVER done without those cameras? We LOOKED OVER OUR SHOULDERS AND AT OUR REAR VIEW MIRRORS. Simple. Who really needs all of that fancy, expensive, complicated technology? I remember when driving was FUN, and my vehicles didn't have all of that fawl-de-rah in them.
I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread after seeing the footage of the haunted house. Those bone-chilling moments caught on camera kept me awake

They all tend to get out at lights and bring a little come to Jesus over the littlest thing. Next worse seems to be Missouri. Third is Texas because they tailgate close enough to read your dash while doing 85 mph in their cowboy Cadillacs. I high pole police escort oversize loads from Canada to Port Aransas , Tx.. before that, a state trooper on east coast..I've seen it all. Oklahoma has about a 2" shoulder but, people kinda mosey along and wave. Low population density.😊

The big rubber thing with all of the tires strapped to it that fell on the car is called a bumper.
It is used to cushion the landing of ships and barges at docks.
I thought they were called 'fenders', like the ones on the boats themselves.

You can call them fenders and still be correct but Merchant Marines all use the slang term bumper because when talking a vessel in for a landing it is standard procedure to give a "watch the bump" warning to all crew members on watch before landing on them.

Tires come off trucks because of hub failure. Usually do to a lack of hub oil and neglecting to do a Proper Pre-Trip.

Yeah, driver of the truck probably never addressed the sounds from the rear axle and that’s why the wheels came off. Maybe the differential was in poor condition from lack of maintenance. That wouldn’t be a far stretch on my guess of what happened
