  • MiG welder wire feed problems is your MiG welder not feeding wire? Checkout my video for some quick tips for MiG welder repair most of the time you might find your wire is stuck in the liner or your drive rollers are slipping. Also make sure that you have the correct size rollers for your wire size because sometimes when you change your wire size the rollers wont clamp your wire to drive it forward. You need to make sure your rollers and wire size are compatible. If your MiG welder wire feed motor not working at all check the motor fuse inside the back panel of your welder.

    People if any of these arent working and your machin is still not working good just make sure your screw who tightens your wheels and this one up side who tightens your wire aren't too tight,and thanks to Pete.

    And for guys who are new to this, most manufacturers label the rollers so that the groove in the back when in the machine, which is the one you’re using, is labeled on the opposite side of the roller. So when you read the size, that side is installed out, so you can read it when it’s in.

    I would use a foam earplug on my machine at work. It works pretty well for about 1-2 spools worth and then I'd change it out. We run beat up machines but gotta make do.

    When welding the wire will continue to feed after I release the trigger. This is very annoying because usually you have to cut the excess before starting again. This also wastes wire. How do I fix it?

      @@petestools It depends on the wire feed setting. The higher the setting the more wire is fed out. The actual time seems to be around one second. I am using .024 wire and if the extra is not cut off the amperage settings (usually 2 or 3 out of 6) will not melt all the excess wire. Thanks for the reply, I check your site regularly.

    Oi mate! My cold feed works fine but when I turn my wire feed up to 10 or even at 1 the speed that comes out the gun is the same, slow. Do you know what might be the problem? Its a bran new welder.

    • @petestools
      @petestools  Před 6 měsíci

      Looks like your welder might be feeling a bit sluggish, just like a Monday morning! But in all seriousness, it sounds like there might be a problem with the wire feed mechanism. I'd suggest reaching out to the manufacturer for assistance.

When I'm using the unit and the gun cable isn't straight it will jam up. When I straighten out the cable, you can the wire jump out the tip. Do you have any suggestions.?
