Oh my goodness James is such a well mannered young man. Hes so helpful and polite. The number of kids his age (and adults to be fair) that dont say please or thank you in general conversation is astounding. Hearing James being so naturally polite and eager to help is a massive credit to him and your family.
even his voice is SO SOFT!
agreed
I've always admired James such a astounding polite and helpful man indeed. Need him to come to Hawaii so I can grab him for one of my granddaughters. Aloha James. God be with you in all you do.
My absolute favourite thing about James is how emotionally mature he is. I know there has been lots of talk about his feelings lately, but if you've been watching this family for a long time you know that James seems to be a kid who understands the importance of and enjoys putting his family members before him when they need it. He's not a pushover by any means! Just look how firm he is with the little ones. But he knows that sometimes some family members need a little more love and he's happy for them to get that. The way that he instantly knows what brands and flavours his siblings enjoy in terms of snacks just shows how much like Alicia he is. He's a wonderful big brother and will be an even more wonderful father someday!
James pays attention to his Mother you can so see it
One of my favorite qualities of James’ is his Loyalty to Family. Both his biological family and adoptive family. He would give the shirt off his back if they asked for it.
@@DoughertyDozen 💙💙💙 James is a great kid and his so funny
Well said ❤️
@@Nancy-yg9cm yeah I didn’t say where it’s at for a reason I just hope she gets to it before a trolls see it
James is literally an angel. He’s so caring, well mannered and very respectful. Who wouldn’t love him!!
James is a GREAT big brother!!! He knows ALL the kids "favorites" and looks out to make sure they all get hooked up on shopping trips 😁 that's great! And what a HUGE help for you having his reach top shelves and lift all those drinks!
I agree. Such a sweet kid
So far James is my favorite (although one shouldn't have favorites, lol). He's so consistently helpful, kind, and polite. Like at 12:12 where James remembers that his mother likes a specific kind of fruit snack. I also appreciate that Alicia gets the kind of fruit snack that the kids like, not the kind that she likes. It's fine to get treats for yourself as a parent, but pushing your own tastes onto your kids too much just breeds resentment.
These grocery hauls are strangely addictive, I’m like sitting in the kids’ seat in a shopping cart while mom pushes me around the supermarket
Right! I don’t think I spend 3k in 6 months for my family if 4, but watching all the stuff I could buy 🧐
Yessss i love riding along too. Just watching what we get for a week!!!! Its sooo fun!!!!!
And just loading up the cart with all the fun stuff you see! I find these hauls really so enjoyable, relaxing, and addictive. I always root for Alicia to find the elusive Caramel Macchiato coffee creamer. I do grocery delivery because I don't like shopping, but man- love me some DD hauls.
This one is so so long, an hour and 25 mins
This is not addictive
James is such a great helper with shopping! He even knows what the kids like and don't like. I really enjoy watching him help you. He's a great teenager.
I didn’t realize he knew every kids’
favorite snack 😭😭
@@DoughertyDozen you have some really great kids, honestly 😊 I love them all so much just from your vids. Only 1:33 into the video so far, but will definitely be watching the whole thing lol
He is so caring, he made sure that each of his siblings got what they like and don’t
@@stefanielieb5258 it's really not. People don't always want same thing for a snack. I have like ten or fifteen different snacks in my room. Also non perishable food stays good for a long time
@@caryn9953 really u love there kids that's creepy
My brain has a hard time wrapping itself around how much it takes to feed your family for a week when starting from scratch...how about an end of the week "what was left over" video short? Lol
P.S., James really is so sweet and always so eager to help. So endearing to see 😊
I am also curious about this and why do you want to eat the same as at home? Try something different on holiday
She has shelves and stuff stocked as well so I don't think they finish everything since a lot she buys in bulk but idk cuz everytime she does a haul and brings it home it's always full already when she puts stuff away so I think she likes too plan ahead
I’d love a short on what was taken home! I have the same thought. I bet Oma and Opa have the space in their car! 🙃😉
@@sammiemarie14 I think she likes video views.
She said she goes a couple times in between the week for miscellaneous items that they run out of 😯
Grocery shopping without considering prices, or looking for sale items has NEVER been my reality!! Not knocking this lady AT ALL...its her money to spend as she wishes...but these shopping videos of hers fascinate me! Not gonna lie I think im addicted to these videos! 😂
Agree. I'm completely fascinated that, even though she said there is 16 people on this vacation, that they would need some of these things for just one week. Like the huge thing of laundry detergent or the gallon of olive oil. I have a family of only 6 and a gallon of olive oil would last 6-8 months, and I cook with it A LOT! LOL
I wonder if this could potentially be an issue for the kids? Understanding budgets and money management skills is very important to learn early in life. I was a bank manager for many years and was always impressed with clients showing their kids money management skills at early age.
This is little of topic.. but with Naveah and DeShawn being temporary in her home until there mother is situated .. buying all these expensive gifts etc... they are going to get used to it .... then what?? When they go back..
@@audrey7994 so they are supposed to be treated differently? They seem to be treated pretty equally as far as I can see

I heart James’ voice. He sounds like the perfect mix of kid and adult. Just when I thought one of your grocery shopping trips couldn’t get any better and you have James riding shotgun, lol. So cute, Alicia!
🥰🥰🥰
@@DoughertyDozen hi😁
Yeah! James future youtuber!
He reminds me of tj from recess 🤔
I always think James seems like a great young man.
James is going to be an amazing husband and father one day; I can just tell. “I can find one.” I mean it almost made me cry how helpful he was and did it so eagerly.
This reminded me of shopping for family beach trips for our group of 14 and we filled an entire cart with just loaves of bread.
My thoughts exactly!
Awww 😢
I hope so too! 🧡🧡🧡
I know right? He sounds so sweet and attentive
Oh really? It almost made you cry huh? How sweet 🙄
Watching James help you and acknowledge what you go through every week around the 40 min mark when you were getting the 4 carts, So thoughtful!! You got a good boy there mama! Good job! and your hauls are always addicting to watch, i dont know how you do it! Super woman, full of love, changing lives! Thanks for being you!
Growing family. 18 count chip box gone in 1 meal
Wow over 3000$ to feed 14 people for just a week . That’s just crazy to me .
I love how James is taking into consideration of what the other kids like! You have some great kids and you’re an awesome Mom!
Thank you so much!! 🧡🧡🧡
James is such a mature child, he oozes so much emotional maturity. The kids are lucky to have a big brother like him. Bless his heart
🧡🧡🧡
There’s absolutely no way your family is eating that much food in a week🤦🏻♀️
3k 🙈 for a week.. That's horrific. On processed shite with no nutrition at all. Having more than the average kid count, is NO Excuse to not feed them properly.
On a vacation... A special treat
James is such a great helper to you! He’s always willing. I know I’ve seen the other kiddos do the same, but James seems to thrive on helping out! ❤️
IKR? I was thinking I need to borrow him when I go grocery shopping! Lol
I didn’t record it but later he said he never realized how much I go through every week just to provide groceries for the family and how appreciative he is that I do this every week. 😭😭😭

I came to say the same thing and saw your comment, lol.
I’m actually shocked at the insane amount of food and drinks you bought for just a week. The amount of fats and sugar is atrocious.
After all this you have takeout for the first day. I’m sorry but this is appalling and irresponsible.
James is such a gentleman. I hope my little boy grows up to be as well spoken, gentle and happy to help his mum as your son!
I think it would fun if you recorded the fridges/pantry at the last day of the trip and showed whats was left 🤣
And I love how your kids are considering of each other, every time they're always remembering what the others kids like and would want!
Yes! that’s what I was thinking.
I was thinking the same- curious as to what will be left. 😉
Yes I would love to see what’s left
Exactly!
@@lindadhill my question also but yeah i have never been in her shoes so.......
James is such a delightful addition to grocery shopping!
Omg McDonald’s for lunch and burgers for dinner after buying all that food 😩😩
My question is why have you got triple the carts you do a week at home when you’re only on vacation for 4 days?!
They are gone for a week , and my guess is , at home she has her stockpile to fall back on. Plus she has her parents there and I think friends coming for a day or 2.
@@KH-df8fc She said in a previous video they were going for 4 days and 3 other adults surely don’t each that much more!
What a dream to throw whatever you want into the cart without searching for the cheapest brand! 🤣 It takes me forever to compare prices to find the cheapest!! Lol
Agreed. What a dream! Specially now, with raising prices! 🙂❤️
She buys everything brand name. I don’t understand. I dont feel even if i could that i would….
And the liquor too! Some of that stuff was EXPENSIVE!!!!
@@jaquelyngears1359 it’s just nuts!
she just showing off that she can afford that
Just the drinks alone would cover my family of four for a year - something doesn't seem right. 🤔
Its for 16 people though
omg they did not need all those drinks??!
If every person drinks 5 per day (water, soda, juice whatever) - for 3 meals and 2 snacks, that is 80 drinks in one day. Not even factoring in being active and getting thirsty etc between meals and snacks.... Times that by 5 days and that is 400 drinks easy.
@@leeanncornett5246 That's fair. I forget people can't drink water out of the tap - in saying that though, that's a lot of non-water drinks there.
Do you donate food you don't consume to a local pantry? So many people could use the extra food.
we donated remaining food to the OC food bank 🧡🧡🧡
"I generally try to avoid talking to people." This is me!!
Your proud "I did it" is goals
Same!!! I'm finishing up this video on my lunch break in my car, I can't people right now xD
Listening to James being so helpful totally reminds me of grocery shopping with my son. He sure is a great kid! ❤
I'm sorry this seems like an insane amount of food. We have a family of 6 and we don't come close to this. I know you have about 6 more but it's insane. Do you waste alot at the end of the week? Or are you scrapping for food? Genuinely curious
She’s shopping for a whole week tho. I can’t imagine. She’s got it together a lot more than I would that’s for sure!
And I’m pretty sure they did have leftovers and they donated all of it to a pantry or something after vacation. So nothing went to waste j don’t think
The amount of food is staggering. I'd like to see what's left at the end of week!
What a great help James is!!! Loved watching him help you.
Shout out to James for being an amazing Human!! He seems to be so thoughtful and has such a serving heart and spirit. The world could use more James's
All of that for 1 week ?
Seems like a bit too much 😳
yeap it is excessive. I hope they recycle all that packaging.
Can’t help but think about how much sugar must be consumed, the Coca Cola can has 9 teaspoons of sugar alone. Think it should have been a health orientated vacation, so that the children can have a spa type day, water, fruit and salads, steak and fish, so their stomachs can have a rest from having constant supply of sugary snacks everyday. Those huge ice creams, even without the added sprinkles, is too much, thankfully they melted away before all of it was consumed. Sugary, fizzy drinks could be a precursor to debilitating arthritis in later years. I applaud how you manage everything, but your children should definitely be more hands on than they do. Show them how to prepare their favourite meal and let them have an opportunity for them to cook it. All the best to you all xxx
That's alot of wine and white claw for 1 week

I'm glad we get to go along on these vacations! Our family is paying off debt this summer so that hopefully we can start saving up for a family trip to the mountains next year! These videos keep me inspired to keep working at it!! We adopted 3 children then had 3 biological children. Love the big family vibes!!
I'm fairly new to your channel and this is the most I've seen of James and wow, he's a lovely young man. So kind, thoughtful and helpful. You and Josh give yourselves a pat on the back because you are outstanding parents. So much love sent your way from Newfoundland, Canada 🇨🇦 x
They are parents of the year in my book!!!!!!!!! Love all the love they spread to the kids and family...and to the world allowing us to watch and share their life with us.....i find it AMAZING AND FUN AND HAPPY FULLLLLL OF LOVE!!!!
@@Goaway624 So you agree with all the alcoholic drinking when there is adopted children in the home that were born with fetal alcohol syndrome and you think it's okay for her to buy anything and anything for her children without telling them no yes we can't control her lifestyle but what she's doing is wrong by exploding her children and drinking heavily when the kids had FAS
@@ethom7397 what changed your mind?
James you're all that a decent young man should be.

Over six minutes of the video is about getting drinks. What’s wrong with drinking filtered or tap water?
I’m so addicted to watching the grocery videos. I like watching Alicia buy whatever she wants because I’ve always been on a tight budget. Feeding a family of 14 3 meals a day must be so much work and I just really enjoy following her. James is such a good helper too
I love James he always puts his family before everything. If someone asks him to do something he is already on it. I love his voice to it’s a great mix of kid and adult. He is soooo much like alicia, caring, hardworking and loving. He is so lucky to have a loving family like all of you. And you guys are so lucky to have him. Ps. Love you guys keep up the hard work!❤️
No way in this world that they needed 3200.00 worth of food for 1 week for 16 people! My family was the same size and I know without a shadow of doubt our grocery bill never got close to that for 1 week!
Just greed!
I use to follow dd and loved it but Its disgusting to me now how she shops and often. Its a total waste and she does it for the views to gain more money. Especially during these times dont flaunt this crap in hard working peoples faces that are barely getting by.
Its almost like.....different families have different amounts of food they consume.....like regular...people..? Foreign concept, not everyone or every family is the same? I know!

We’ve spent a week at Disney World with 14 of us in an airbnb. Got water and some breakfast food for all of us for the week. Mostly fruit and snacks. Maybe 1 cereal box. Maybe a couple of dr peppers and a bottle of wine for the adults - for the week. Not nearly this much. I am blown away by the drinks alone! So blown away. Where did the leftovers go?
Ikr it’s a lot lol but I guess they got the money, I just don’t see how they eat it all.
did you see how much alcohol did she bought it is insane!
I love this family and their videos but I agree, this was very excessive for only 1 week. There has to be tons of food leftover. She also said as they were at the store that the kids were getting McDonald’s for lunch and takeout for dinner. So there’s one day. 🤷♀️
She’s extra for reason. This was one week!!!
@@lifeofatruckerswife absolutely! For the amount of people in their family, they live a VERY blessed life!! Always help out others when you can. That leftover food will surely help a few people eat. Holy crap! That's a ton of food even for 16 people.
James is honestly such a good kid! He truly is a testament to you and your parenting 🥰 growing up to be a fine young man! Well done mumma! And well done James!
Is it unsafe to drink tap water in parts of the USA? Curious as to why you seem to only drink bottled water?
It's a preference. It's safe to drink the water straight from the tap for most of the US. The ones that do not like tap water will use some sort of filtration system and save the planet from plastic bottles. I can't figure out if she ignorant or just inconsiderate.
I'll add to my preference comment. It's a dead give away that it's a preference for them being that they purchase a variety of different and pricey bottled water.
I know about Flint, Michigan as that was a global news story I was just curious to see if it was a widespread issue as I see other Americans drinking from the tap. I know there was an issue with them getting hooked up to the city water supply so I thought that could have been a factor as she explained that’s why they were using disposable plates.
@@katymcdonald5481 their water supply to the house isn't the problem. It's the sewage. They aren't hooked up to the city's sewage pipes so they have to have a septic tank for all their waste water. That septic tank is broken or something so they have to limit the amount of waste water.
Watching your family is so soothing for some reason. I love when you take people along with you to help shop. James is such an amazing helper and he makes me laugh with his goofy Humor ever so often.

Why would she want to do that? There is so much criticism right now that she is simply feeding her family....
@@vasilikipapaoikonomou2442 I'm just curious, it's her kids not mine so that's up to her what she feeds them!
I don’t understand what’s going on here. This volume of groceries (roughly calculated) is over 500000 calories. All 16 people together would require around 280000 calories over 7 days. They seem to be ordering in most of their meals on vacation so far. Who is possibly eating all of this food???

I cannot believe you got all those groceries into just the one fridge! Not counting the drink fridge....I should have known you would manage but still I'm amazed at your wizardry in getting it all in. Experience, no doubt, teaches us a lot. I'm going to be enjoying your vacation with you! Just like with my own grown kids and now my grandchildren, I take a lot of pleasure in just seeing kids be happy.
I am so impressed with how polite and helpful James is. He knows others' likes and dislikes. Awesome big brother!!
I understand accommodations for the tastes, likes and dislikes for such a large family but shopping without regard to cost fascinates me. I’m not criticizing, I just find these shopping trips mesmerizing. Her son is such a dear to be so helpful. When I shopped for just my daughter and me, I used coupons and price compared in order to make food stamps and budget stretch. Now, when I shop for my husband and me, I still use coupons and price compare. When my husband’s adult vegan son and pescatarian daughter visit, I use coupons and price compare. When my now adult daughter, SIL and toddler grandson visit, well, you know the drill. I don’t know how to shop any other way even though we have a much larger income than when I was a single parent.
@Lori Smith Oh, I agree there is a lot of sugar and processed food. Having said that, I was trying to not completely bash her parenting. I do understand that with this large a family, she is taking short cuts so that she can enjoy her time with the kids. Having said that, I would cut down on the sugar and give the kids limits. "These are the snacks I am purchasing. You can choose what you like from the variety I have selected." I would refrain from purchasing each kid's favorite at every trip. Or, rotate who gets to make a specific selection.
So at the end of vacation can you show us what groceries you have left if any? That is so much food for just 14 people.
Too much! And how many days?
I can’t imagine your family going through all those groceries in one week 😱 and then you’re still eating out 🤪

I really hope you donate that food to a local shelter or some families in need and it doesn't all go to waste or get expired. We all know these will get bigger and more extreme. I'm just thinking I personally struggle to feed my family and it would be a huge blessing to receive food especially with the food prices the way they are. You’re family is both unique and amazing. Love how the older kids really take care of the younger ones xxx
I come from a large family as well, though not quite as large as this. I can honestly say this is quite excessive. I don’t feel all of this is eaten in 1 week. Not judging what was bought (meaning the types of food) but the quantity is a bit much. We never left the store with more than 2 carts.
I don't understand the quantity of food for one week. They mentioned the 1 child liking a specific type of pasta and bought 3 boxes of it, for one dinner. She likes sour cream and onion Pringles and needed 2 of the big packs? 2 large dish soaps and a huge thing of laundry soap and dryer sheets for 1 weeks doesn't really make sense. They'd have to be running the washer and dryer 24/7
And 10 big boxes of sugary cereal for all 6 days...multiple big boxes of Cheezits because one child likes them...
They didn't care about excess because they donated what wasn't used
Wow that's like enough for a food year to be honest. Just wondering how much food actually gets waisted.
I got so excited seeing that James went with you! He's so caring and sweet! I just hope my 8 month old son turns out to be even half of what James is like. Enjoy your trip and Happy Birthday Harlee!
I work at a retail store and a life saver for strolling around multiple carts at once is taking the child safety strap and attaching it to another cart!! Saves your hands and keeps the cart aligned except for turns if you aren’t careful.
I did the math: rounding up to $4,000 for their entire haul (based on the receipts), it's $4,000/16 people = $250 per person for the week. $250/7 days = around $36 per person for each days' meals. $36/3 meals (which doesn't account for all of the inedible items and toiletries OR snacks and treats) is $12 per meal. That's not bad! Certainly they could save money by only buying off-brands and store brands, looking for sales, whatever. However, $12 per meal on vacation during INFLATION is actually really, really good! Of course, we don't know what all they're spending on ordered food, but even then: it's vacation and people usually eat out more when on vacation.
Family of 8 here and for some reason your shopping trips are relaxing and therapeutic for me. When I'm out shopping I'm literally a sweaty Betty. My anxiety is crazy when it comes to checking out.
Thank you for sharing these hauls 💗 You're raising quite the gentleman there 😊
You are so lucky that James is so willing to help you. I really admire the way he always "steps up to the plate"...
He's helping out so much 🧡🧡🧡
???
I suffer from depression and I saw this family pop up in my recommended videos and I've binge watched them since yesterday lol. I love all these videos
Try to save yourself some videos, lol she’s therapeutic but I feel really unstable on the days she doesn’t really post 😂 I wish I hadn’t binged quite so hard.
James is such a sweetheart- so helpful and considerate. Have a great vacation x
Curious, is there ever a budget???
