- Madden NFL 24 is more of what you might expect if you've played Madden 23. While the game certainly boasts improvements over last year's offering including refined player models, visual design, animations, and extended variable controls, there's still a sensation that elements like the narratively bankrupt Superstar mode and the mixture of good minigames with lackluster ones in Franchise mode that spell stagnation for a major sports franchise like Madden.
There's not much that could convince gaming fans to spend their hard-earned dollars on Madden NFL 24 if 23 is already in their library. - Hry

I think they have a secret deal with 2k, instead of splitting Dev’s for two different games, let 2k monopolize basketball unrivaled, while EA monopolize football unrivaled, both corner their market and both make more money overall

Brought back features that are 10+ years old fans have been begging for and the game still sucks. Hate to see such a prestigious franchise go to trash.
To answer anybody asking the question why fans would buy this year after year. The answer is that we love football more than we hate madden hence why this happens every year.
So why not just continue to play the Madden that you already own and download new rosters? I don't play Madden so I'm not sure if downloading rosters is even a thing

@@CapturedByKen You can only do so for so long before needing a new game for updated rookies. I usually buy a Madden every 3 or 4 years cause of this. Unfortunately, even a 3-4 year gap for Madden means nothing but a roster update.

I haven't played Madden since Madden 07 and I'm enjoying Madden 24 I guess I would understand all the complaints if I played the past 17 titles

Funnily enough… I started playing Madden 23 on game pass and haven’t played since like Madden 16, 17… I’m having an absolute blast. However, I know that if I then shell out £60 on Madden 24 after playing 23, I’m going to be left disappointed! The fact people buy this game yearly is MENTAL!
The last one I played was Madden 20, so I don't think it's that bad either.
@@glennhiscock478 exactly the trick to enjoying madden is to purchase every 3-4 years not back to back. They don’t make enough changes to justify paying $60-$70 yearly.
NFL 2k5 came out 18 years ago it's still the best football simulation ever made. Madden can't even catch up to being as good as a game made 18 years ago. Sad.

I often switch player positions like taking a low rated CB with good athleticism ratings and turn them into a Free Safety. If you do this in the edit roster screen it causes a glitch where the players Bio Info and years of experience turns into 31. No one has discussed this glitch

copy and paste last year plus change enough to piss off both sides of the arguments. just live service the thing since the biggest changes are just roster changes. just keep what fans want, live service it, milk the fan base more consistently, then realize to bring back NFL street series. this can also be applied to the other yearly released sports games that change so little you'd think they charged you twice for the same game + "ANIMATIONS"

Just venting...carry on: I'm not buying another game for a long time if ever. Used to be my favorite game in middle school. Now it's unplayable. It's predictable and you have to play every game as if you're playing the all time top scoring offense even with the best defense ever. Ruined player role in franchise mode. Removed create a team. Added more animations and random turnovers. Glitchy superstar mode.... ight I'm good now 😅
Madden gets an update once a year and charges $70 for it.

Which sports game does it best? I always see negative comments about Madden, NHL, NBA and FIFA. I don't think I've seen as much negative feedback about MLB The Show, but I can only play a home run derby or two before I'm bored and walk away.

It is estimated that EA makes $600m per year, the cost of the 2021 licence renewal for 5 years was $1.5b. So three years to break even, on the madden licence, leaving roughly $1.5b left over. Divided by the 6 year licence period each game could afford roughly $250M to break even on each game. Yet some how they spend $10M on it each year for development cost. To me that doesn't make much sense. To say the game isnt a AAA is wrong and they are holding back hard.

I dont know if anyone has noticed, but the last 5 madden's franchose mode is broken. Teams wont sign free agents or renew contracts. So, by 4 or 5 seasons in, every good player in the league is an available free agent, and every roster is sitting at a 72 overall, because they only have the players they draft.
Id like to see a first person view so you feel like you're the running back or you're the receiver or the quarterback

Jeesh. Just bought a PS5 and haven't had a console since PS1. This game looks incredible and I'm having a blast. But I truly wish there were a simple season mode. Not sure why they wouldn't include that. Especially for people that don't wanna go full franchise mode.

I didnt dare to play because of how bad Ryan trashes the game,finnaly got a Ea pass and a free trial,and i must say,THIS IS THE BEST MADDEN IN A MINUTE! You have complete control over the game. No eazy slants like previous madden,the game seems a bit slowed down which gives you time to take in account what happening on the field. Defense is much better to play, and so is offense. The tackles seem way less animated based. No more sucked into tackle animations. If you have the right stick moves,you can juke out a entire team! THIS YEARS MADDEN IS ONE OF THE BEST MADDENS! IM TELLING YOU!
Those celebration animations for a next-gen game are rather awful.

@@phillyscorpio3804 Read an article stating that the devs of the next NCAA game is proud of their work so far on this project and that they're really capturing the college football feel. They also stated that the experience will be much different than playing Madden. Of course, time will tell.

To be real.. as a person who only played madden on ps2 .. I played the 10 hour trial and I had a great time with the game. .. so for new people at least .. it's Def fun but again i haven't played the others for years

Thanks for the video! Being a single player gamer when it comes to Madden, I'm enjoying the game so far. I've tried playing the same two teams for three games and I get different results each time. Ultimate Team is fun as usual, not nearly as good as MLB the Shows Diamond Dynasty mode, but fun. Graphics are great on a 4K screen and the surround sound is also good. Looking forward to All-Time rosters from the community so I can put out some more cool Legend videos! Thanks again!

@@marcusdy1974 I only play single player. Ultimate Team and Franchise. Mostly quick play games and I find it enjoyable. Gameplay is fun and can be challenging, even going against the CPU. Graphics and sound are really good. Enjoy!

No offense but with all the money they have how does the game in year 3 of next gen still look extremely close to last gen in graphics. I’ve seen other games truly optimize the capabilities of the current gen graphics. There’s no way they are putting in any effort with the graphics. And that’s just graphics not gameplay, features

I hadn't bought or played a Madden game since 18, the one with Brady on the cover. But I got my PS5 in March, and I have been wanting to play a football game, so this was the only game in town. Honestly, so far it has been pretty fun. I play offline franchise; it seems like there is a lot of improvements since 18. Pretty much everything Richard Dreyfuss mentioned in the review, the expanded trade slots, training, importing a draft class, scouting, upgrading your coaches, contract restructuring, somewhat realistic contracts.
The gameplay has been pretty good too, compared to 18 anyway from what I remember. I'm sure if I bought this every year I wouldn't see any improvement, so I get that, and I won't touch MUT, but so far, I'll give the game a B+, though it is very close to an A-. Great review Mr. Dreyfuss!
I didn’t buy it this year waiting till Christmas or free on Xbox app. I’ve bought every madden since covid and refused to waste money this year so watching these videos reminds of when I watched these videos last year and was playing the game 😆

I am a lapsed Madden player as I am now exclusively a PC gamer, and it's the only game that made me feel bad about leaving consoles behind. I was considering getting this for the PC, but the reviews have been so universally awful including yours that I decided to pass. Thanks for saving me the money.
The accelerated no huddle is one of the dumbest things madden changed for absolutely no reason. I used to change the play as the players are running up to the new LOS to save time like actual real life offenses do but now your offense will just spawn in the exact same formation, burning up the time that madden guesstimates it took to no huddle, and THEN you can audible and burn up even more time in the process. But what's absolutely amazing is the CPU magically lines up in a new formation when they do it and my defense is left in shambles when i audible and everyone scrambles for their new assignments before the ball gets snapped and mfers are left wide open. Absolute shitshow of a game. Haven't paid full price for it since madden 17. I wait for the $20 deals.

It would be a huge step in the right direction if this game would play at least at a basic level of football. EA Tiburon can start with fixing simple clock management and work it's way up to making a better football game. I can't remember a Madden game that has ever used clock management properly, especially at the 2 minute warning end game.

Everybody got they game genres they play but sports games nowadays, is literally the same game with a updated roster. And the ones that pay and play those type of games every year, cant complain about nothing. They support ea with their wallets
Graphics looks bad tho and overall those grind iron games still way behind most sport games, can’t believe EA can’t get it done right. Their FIFA football game goes through the same BS no wonder they lost the rights to use the name FIFA, finally.
I'm still stuck playing PS2 Madden. I prefer ACTUAL customization and in depth stats in my franchise modes. Why can't I create my own team and jerseys? I keep hearing people say "because the NFL wouldn't let them" That is not true, it's a cope. The developers have came out and said the NFL had nothing to do with taking out customization. Not everyone wants to play MUT, but that is all the game throws in your face.
I'd stop reviewing NFL, NBA, NHL and Fifa every year. It's the same crap.

, and sadly not just the usual $60-$70 some are buying the extra super deluxe gold/silver/platinum upgraded edition for like $100. I wish they'd stop. My biggest thing is. You hit the button to pass and it doesn’t respond. After that the whole play is fudged. When I hit that button , that’s the correct timing pass I see…….. I paid good money for this BS game. I’m soooo disappointed 😢
It’s not better than 23. It’s worse. Stop lying to people. The game is horrible. Nearly non playable online, everything lags, the franchise constantly kicks/disconnects everybody out of the league after every thing you do. The physics are trash. The games are scripted. I’ve played on all madden for 20 years, can win every game, and I still hate this god awful disgrace of a game. It’s pathetic. EA needs to be boycotted and loses all their exclusive deals. If you disagree you are simply wrong.
