    After watching the Netflix adaptation I can really appreciate some of the movies aspects; although it is by no means a perfect film it shines especially in the set design. Everything just feels so much more real in the 2010 adaptation, you can just tell that the actors went to real locations instead of the green screened mess that a lot of the Netflix show’s scenes are (I mean just look at basically every scene inside the Omashu palace or a lot of the backgrounds)

      @unicrost  Před 4 měsíci +6

      Agreed. While the new show is more faithful and arguably better in terms of story, it just looks fake a lot of times; and the digital reliance was a huge turn-off for me. I also like that the movie tried its absolute best at being its own thing (despite not always making sense or being good) and resisted piggybacking off the nostalgia of the cartoon. For example, every time Netflix reused music from the original show, it felt manipulative and lazy to me. Meanwhile, the movie at least has a unique score that works really well for the Airbender world. Or when it comes to the costumes, while the film designs are different, they at least look lived in and could be bought as outfits that Air Nomads or Firebenders could wear in an alternate universe, whereas the costumes look too clean in the Netflix version and parts of the Fire Nation armor looks like repurposed swimming gear.

    Putting the Scene with the Grandma back in was a good decision, because now the plot is informing itself, and it now gives katara a motivation for why she's so interested in Aang

    This is so good! Better than the 2024 i'd say, that netflix adaptation looks like some kids doing cosplay and bad storyline by changing the scenes that i like the most in the animated version😢

      @LeoTreo2 The best I’ve seen this described is that the movie costumes feel more worn and lived in, whereas the Netflix ones look very clean and saturated, despite being way more faithful-looking to the tv show.

    Awesome job can't wait to see more of this!
    The 2010 is very underrated, i love the sound design and overall tone it hit. The problem was the studio forced cuts and reshoots which ultimately killed it. Go watch the original trailers, theres a ton of shots not in the movie.
    After watching the netflix show disappointment, im appreciating more of the 2010 movie.

      Thanks! You can check out the full rough cut on the channel! I'm hoping to have the full-length final cut released later this year, with additional improvements.
      And I do agree the film was ultimately screwed up by Paramount. The original cut was supposed to be 2.5 hours, which sadly only exists in novel format. Things made so much more sense after reading that book and realizing how it was supposed to go. While the original cut wouldn't have fixed all the issues (like the Earthbender prison), it would have at least made more sense and given us some nice character moments. I'd give the rushed theatrical cut a 2/10 and the novel version a 5/10.

    Buen Trabajo por cierto siento que el Director ya deberia lanzar el Corte Extendido de 2 Horas despues del Estreno Live Action siento que la Pelicula merece una Segunda Oportunidad como lo que paso con el Synder Cut que hace que olvidemos el Whedon Cut
    Me pregunto si veremos a las Guerreras Kyoshi

    • @unicrost
      @unicrost  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Kyoshi Warriors would be in the extended cut if it were to ever be released. That said, I don't believe Paramount will ever have interest due to the film's poor reputation and the fact most fans aren't clamoring for it. Paramount will see it as a financial risk to pour money into a longer version.

    One thing that irritates me about this movie, is in the behind the scenes videos the actor who plays Aang acts a lot like Aang in Season 1 in real life. Yet, the director decided to captured almost none of this and made him stiff and lifeless.

    • @unicrost
      @unicrost  Před 3 měsíci

      Even in the bloopers, they all show more emotion and range. From what I’ve read up, it seems Shyamalan originally intended for the characters to be goofy in the original 2.5 hour cut of the film. Some of the comedy can be found in trailer spots and the film novelization. But a lot of it got cut because Paramount requested the film be under 100 minutes to save money. The studio also wanted to cash in on the 3D hype, which of course turned out bad for the film because it wasn’t made for 3D to begin with.

    • @dailydoseofsunshine2319
      @dailydoseofsunshine2319 Před 3 měsíci

      @unicrost It's all making sense now. How was the director of "the sixth sense" responsible for what is widely considered one of the worst films ever made? Answer: He wasn't! (Well kinda). The concept was dead on arrival (squeezing a whole season into one movie) and studio interference certainly didn't help. But there are things that still shine, and some scenes are unironically better than the cartoon, like yue's death. However, peoples extreme biases and nostalgia blind them to this. I hope your
      able to add any moments you can to make the characters more lively.

      The Netflix show was great!! Amazing! Definitely better than this movie for certain. In saying that, it would be unfair to compare as this movie was made over a decade ago, so technology would be far advanced now when it comes to CGI. I didn't like that this movie was full of Indians, I have nothing against Indians, it appears to be more the choice of the Director since he is Indian. India is big on nepotism and that's not a criticism, just an observation. You should give the Netflix show a fair chance instead of watching it with biased views. I'm a fan of the OG and I loved the Netflix series. I also can't wait for S2 and S3. Just enjoy the show, hate less, and you'll live better.
