Peter Thorn is Chris Cornell's guitarist (Soundgarden, Audioslave) and has also performed with million-selling artist Daniel Powter. Here he talks us through his G-System.
Peter then goes through the pedals in his rig and some of his amps revealing some of his touring secrets along the way!

ah right, thats awesome. i looked at the axe fx lately, its freaking incredible man it makes sense to have a decent power amp for it.

Hi Pete, sorry to disturb. This unit is being heavily discounted in the uk. Will it still hold up or do the modern ones blow it away? Thanks. David

there is 7 pedals here and 2 heads, but there is only 5 loops... the math does not add up :).
How is he connecting to the heads? Looks like he is using 5 loops for connecting the phaser, lovepedal, fuzz, box of rock, and flanger. But where is the Line 6 Rotovibe & eventide connnected?
Is one loop going out to a different looper controlling which amp(preamp part) to use, and then the out on the g-system going into > return of which head?(PT-100 or divided by 13). You dont want delay pre dist.

what i think he's doing is got his head switcher just for center cab in the insert loop of the g system and then the outputs go to a stereo power amp to give him the wet dry wet thing and because he's switching through them the speakers all get the same signal... if thats right but i think thats an awesome rig neither the less

@knikk77 Perhaps he has a couple of effects in the same loop. On my Carl Martin Octaswitch, I have eight loops but 11 pedals. All my modulation effects are in one - because it's rare you need a chorus plus a flange plus a phaser, so I just switch on the one I'm using for that particular song before playing and the loop brings that modulation in when I need it.
Or he might have something more complicated! :-)

yeah it really does sound awesome i guess he's using a carvin power amp? i live in the UK so i couldnt tell you what model carvin but i think it sounds really nice as poweramps go

@samgam69 I guess he is using the carvin power amp for the Axe-FX, cause modeling stuff needs clean clear poweramps.

Does anybody know what head switcher he is using?

Hey Pete I noticed you run both amps with effects loop. How do you achieve this? are you using two midi a/b boxes, splitting the effects loop for both amps when toggling amps? I need some help on the matter. thank you! Your the best!

In Petes case, theres probably a load box on each head with a line out feeding a mixer into the fractal. The fractals fx send goes to the eventide timefactor and back to its return preserving stereo. I still have my 2290. Hoping for a modern 2290+ as a g-system replacement with better audio path
