If you’ve seen my other videos you can probably tell how much adventures I have in Scotland. But the visiting the Oban Seafood Hut (Green Shack) is always a must on my travel list. If you love fresh local seafood then this place is for you! The way everything is served was perfect on the palate -meaning they allow the natural seafood flavors to come out. No salt, no oil, no sugar. They boiled the mussels with wine, garlic and onions. I wish we could have something like this in the Philippines as well. Everything was clean, there was fresh air with a beautiful ambience of the sea. The price was absolutely reasonable as well!

Just come across this video - a year late. Living near Oban, I love the Seafood Hut. Sadly, John Ogden, who founded and ran it, died earlier this year - his death was mentioned in the House of Commons! The Hut has opened again for the season, and prices have gone up a bit, but folks are still queuing to buy the best and freshest seafood ever, and the Hut goes from strength to strength. Loved your video - and you even managed to show Oban with the sun shining.

Hi, Roxy, been enjoying more of your videos. Actually the guy in the hat isn’t the owner! John Ogden was a smaller man, who wasn’t always at the hut. Famous for his long fight to keep the hut open in the face of opposition from the local council. The guy in the hat is still there, and still offering free tastings of mussels
I’ve Googled John Ogden… it’s amazing what he’s done.
Being back in the Philippines I still crave the fresh seafood all the way at Oban.
Eating outside was so much fun… it won’t be the last!

That is wonderful to hear! We know you close during December so I was really bummed about that, too cold I guess but I’m willing to eat outside even if it’s cold 😄 We’ll see you there for the summer. Eddie is coming to the Philippines first then we fly back to Bonnie Scotland 🏴🥳

Nice food but I Found everything really expensive seeing it's only caught locally....disappointing.
It can get expensive quickly. Tho I really enjoyed the freshness. I guess it’s a treat 😇
Just a tip. Maybe do these vlogs on your own, because your other half looks as if he doesn't want to be there.
I know he does pull faces sometimes 🫣😁
