- Nemesis Sub-Terra is a drop tower dark ride located at Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. The ride opened to the public on 24 March 2012 and ceased operation in June 2015, following an accident that occurred on The Smiler that injured several riders. The ride is listed on the park's website as unavailable, and its future is unknown. Its theme focuses on the discovery of a nest of eggs in a network of underground caves, which is loosely adapted from the concept of the park's 1994 inverted roller coaster, Nemesis.
Would love if this reopened, I was recently told about this because I know about the, now extinct alien encounter attraction, this ride was similar and yes the person who created this got the insprartion from alien encounter. I actaully love the idea of this ride it's pretty awesome. I hope it reopens soon.

Just making this clear- N:ST's closure was not due to the Smiler accident.
The ride limitations that Alton Towers implemented was due to decrease of profits which then led closures and altered times.
A staff member told me it was due to them not being able to get their hands on a part needed
@@mrpunjabi8606 as far as I am aware that is incorrect. it was more budgeting reasons as the loop stated as multiple rides were closed around the same time.

I remember going to this when I went to Alton towers for the first time. Now I’m autistic so I had to cover my ears as soon as we went into the creepy room with the egg. I got so scared when the egg hatched. I started having a crying breakdown. Like, it was cool. But it was FAR too loud. I was shaken by the end of it. I’m 18 now and I can’t even go to theme parks, even without the bloody Covid, without getting scared. I went on that big mushroom swing and it made me feel better. I’m a strange person.
So its nemesis but the true story about it

Oh poor sub terra being lied about, it’s closure had nothing to do with smiler crash.
Sub Terra was closed due to the parks low incoming finances due to The Smiler incident. Please do your research before commenting. Much appreciated!
