This episode altogether is one of the most emotional episodes in the whole show and this scene was one of the best in the entire show. Phenomenal.

I really think Magnus and Alec both tore down eachothers walls around their hearts, not to be dramatic but they really found each other at a perfect moment. And throughout the show we see Alec kinda open up to Magnus and to others around him and seem more natural instead of before we see him closed off from others

Let me just emphasise on how beautifully this scene was shot. The angles, the lights and the shadows, the bed setting, everything is perfect! And then you add the dialog, and the music and their chemistry to it! What a beautiful scene! ❤️

Amanda Row who directed this episode and Joshua Butler who directed 3x18 are truly the best directors for Malec scenes imo. The way this scene and their 3x18 break-up flow so smoothly, the pure serenity of the morning after scene, and even the break-up scene, even though it's heartbreaking - they're simply some of the show's best work. I was left completely speechless after their break-up because of how well done it was and the morning after scene is so soft, so much like a safe space, which perfectly encompasses their relationship. It's been almost a week since the show ended and I miss it so much already, I'm always going to miss them and I'm forever grateful for scenes like this one.
Just the lighting in this scene alone is gorgeous, so soft & golden. Intimate, serene...almost pure. Then you add in the warm confessional tones the guys are using, it's deadly.

Their acting is so natural; none of this feels scripted! It says a lot about their relationship with minimal dialogue. Magnus’ moment of panic when he thinks Alec is leaving speaks volumes; who knows how many times he woke up to finding his partner had left and didn’t really want to be with him. Alec’s act of staying is so meaningful. Plus Magnus’ “then I met you” is just…wow. Like he’s really saying that he made himself vulnerable to fear again just because Alec meant that much to him!! A subtle yet powerful way of telling Alec that he’s changed his life, and Alec is worth facing his fears for! At this point in the show - since it’s a flashback to post 2x07 - neither of them have said “I love you” aloud yet, but you can see it here in their faces and behavior. And the golden lighting is so beautiful and very symbolic of how they’ve created their own little world of just the two of them … OMG this is all just so cute!!!

I don't know why but I've never seen Magnus is sleeping when they sleep together whenever I saw him whether he's thinking something or simply just looking at Alec with a constant smile... On the other hand I feel like Alec could only sleep peacefully without any worry when Magnus is beside him...Love with this couple❤

Like maybe making Alec immortal. The thought of alec growing old and dying while magnus has to live without him is just painful. Unrelated but I kinda love how Magnus is still wearing makeup?? Like sometimes he uses it as a defense mechanism (2x15 beginning, anyone? Or his whole ensemble in 2x13?), putting his walls up, but he's genuinely happy and at least mostly open here, so it's a chance to see that sometimes he truly does just enjoy it :). Also probably because he forgot to take it off lol.
