#honda suggested focusing on the new 2027 regulation and "writing the 2024 season off."
To crash out from last place almost sounds like a joke but that’s the position they are in.
For the rest of this season, Honda has been asked to focus on bike development on race weekends.

BMW will be coming into MotoGP in the near future, and their bike is going to dominate. Remember this comment. 😉

Time for Puig to give someone else a chance.

    • @kalcine

Puig has nothing to do with the bike developement. Lin Jarvis has nothing to do with the bike developement either. They are managing the moto GP team and not supervise the developement part. They have nothing to do with the developement really. It is not their responsibility if the manufacturer can not bring competitive package to the table. They only contribute by communicating a feedback what is good and what is bad about the concept just like the riders. All they can do is try to put more pressure on the development department, but as we see time goes by and in the past 2-3years Honda is just slipping back in MotoGP.

They had ZERO chances of success this year before it even began. No amount of testing would close the gap to being competitive from their current level. They absolutely should abandon current bike development from a factory test rider standpoint and focus on 2027. But on the racetrack bring parts to do what they can to help the racers and test those parts and ideas at every race. They could use LCR to develop one plan and the Factory riders to try another and double up testing at every race.

Honda and Yamaha are not going to plough big money at this moment in time until the rules change then we will see winning bikes.there bike sales are still better than Ducati, KTM and Aprilia and thats what counts and on the public roads they are as good as any and better priced your not buying the BADGE

Honda needs to fight this year! When you just right off this year like they are doing. It looks like you are just giving up & not believing in yourself. Honda needs to find a new young rider, someone with fire & desire like Pedro Acosta. These older guys are to stuck in their ways (even though luca marini is still young), if they think the bike is lame their going to ride it lame even though the Honda bike could be right. Yamaha is doing way better than Honda! Yamaha is really making big improvements & they're doing it this year, & not writing this year off or next year. Sitting around and waiting for 2027 new regulations is so ridiculous, absurd, & lazy on Honda part ...!!?
