Very right, and it all started in Bhotto's time and continued after that in every department of gov't.....I'm a witness to our society taking a turn towards corrupt practices in general and our gov't officials doing that in particular.....had followed the news at that time and did not find it difficult to see what was happening with Mr Basit....... we believe that Allah Paak compensates those who keep up their grace despite being victimised for not joining the morally low and corrupt politicians.......🇵🇰

Foreign offices are for building relations and Vakaa. As an outsider, Basit Saheb with Mazarat, you were the least popular. There have been many other High commissioner who were quite popular and Hubbell Watan. You hv your own style which did not go well with India-Pak complexities. Successful bureaucrats even over here are those who know what their political bosses desire even without the words being spoken.

Corrupt and Incompetent Bureaucracy is real problem of all Crises in the beloved Pakistan, i also working on this agenda as i believe not only Politician is responsible for crises, a powerless citizen treated badly in the govt departments, and the same practice done in Endia as well sadly.

Really a sad account of an honest civil servant. He always left a positive impression during his career as a diplomat. Also it shows how much the Nawaz Sharif Govt. was insincere to the Kashmir cause.
This is not just Nawaz Sharif , this is going on for very long time.That's why we have one of Poorest performing bureaucrats. All foreign postings on telephone calls not on merit. I don't think they can present Pakistan case even speak English properly for international audience.Just watch youtube of neighbouring countries bureaucrats one can judge how worthy ours are.

That's how merit is ruined in our government departments. Unfortunately, nepotism is very strong and people try to secure their vested interests instead of the country. The majority is busy in intriguing against each other.
