Ooo, Juwan! I am glad that the Romanian experience is a very pleasant one for you and that you also like Romanian food. This will help you a lot to integrate into the community, make friends and give you the feeling that you are really living a beautiful life. Think everyone welcomes you and for basketball fans you are their local super-star.
Thank you for tuning In!! The Romanian experience has been great so far! I’m starting to get familiar with navigating around the city and adjusting to the culture here.
Juwan, an hour's drive away (maybe less) is the lovely little town of Sinaia. There you will be able to visit Peleș Castle, a fairytale castle like in children's stories. A wonder, the castle of the former kings of Romania. You will be impressed for the rest of your life, you will never forget it!@@therealwan
We like garlic, cheese and pickles in Romania. More than we should, maybe, hehe. We pickle everything, including apples and watermelon. But that's more for the ... connaisseurs :)
You are very sweet. The best romanian food in my opinion is when we make it in our home. We women in România like to cook in our home( me at least😂) so if some one invite you in Brașov ( i am from Bucharest) accept that invitation, you will have an amazing fresh home cooked meal❤❤❤
hello to you and to your wife- if the two of you have time , you should visit Constanta- the sea side = especially in the summer- you could go to the beach, swimm, relax = we do not have sharks in the water, so it is safe ;). The food here at the sea side is based on turkish and arab meals , also lots of pizza, pasta, fish
Now I really want some beans soup in a bread bowl and I can't get that delivered at home, thanks Juwan...😂 Good luck on Saturday, I'm rooting for Cluj cuz they are my hometown team, but I hope you get a triple double.
Hey man, nice vlogs! Happy you are doing good and you like Romania. Make some romanian friends and try to feel the winter holidays, waiting to see what you think about some of our traditions 🇷🇴
Haha it s very funny because foreigners who come to our country either haven't heard much about us and don't know what to expect or have heard bad things in the Western media but after they get here and start seeing how the people are, what the country looks like, how is the food, hospitality, culture, history, etc. everyone says that Romania is a beautiful unexpected surprise. 😂 Have fun here!
Hey man! Love your videos. I would like to see a vlog when you come and play away in Cluj. Speaking of, good luck in 18... you play against them. It will be the hardest game in the league :) hope you'll enjoy the challenge of an Eurocup team
Many people don't know ... the better food you give to sheep , the more smelly the meat . When they have good pasture grass , they accumulate a kind of fat. This is giving the meat some .. unpleasant flavor. That's why the best sheep meat is Australia , where is only dry grass generally 🙂In Romania , due to such plentiful green pastures , the sheep becomes fat ! But , if the cook knows his job , like boiling the meat with some ginger roots prior to frying , will be delicious .
Is one of the reasons why the sheep meat is not so popular in Romania , with some exceptions. We have ginger in Romania , is called Ghimbir . But people prefer to marinate the sheep meat and fry it afterwards . Marinated is called Pastrama ( I know sounds like the Italian ..pastrami ) @@therealwan
The host you had was really bad at explaining. In Romanian cuisine, people eat soup with bread and raw onion or spicy peppers to enhance the taste. The experience is that you take a bite and get that juicy, spicy flavor along with the hot soup, which is just yummy. As for ‘mici,’ you have to try them with mustard because Romanian mustard is different. The plateau of pork delicacies is part of a tradition that accompanies other religious practices. In Romania, winters used to be quite harsh, so people who owned farms would raise pigs and butcher them before Christmas to have delicious food for the holiday celebrations and enough to sustain them during the winter months. The reason for cutting the pork before Christmas is that most people have a period of lent from November 14 up to Christmas (nowadays referred to as eating vegan, abstaining from animal products). When they would butcher the pork, it would result in a celebratory dish of various pork preparations. The pork skin you eat is not crispy like bacon; in English, it would be called pork cracklings or crispy pork skin. Additionally, pickles in Romania are different; most of them are not prepared with sugar as they are in the US. Hope you will try more foods and you are going to enjoy them. :)
I always say to everyone to avoid "Ursul Carpatin", high prices for mediocre food, if you want good food with okay prices try "Beraria Pofta sau Foame" , "La Ceaun" or "Sergiana"
If you have time, you should adventure more on your own without the annoying "press" tailing you. I'm guessing you got to know quite a few locals by now so if you want to really get a feel of the place, ask them to accompany you and show you off the beaten path. Good luck and enjoy your time in Romania 👍👍
You were too politically correct 😂. The vlog was ok, but I would like to see a remake of this, without Press and restaurant owner being involved for publicity, and just have a honest review of the food. Btw, excellent start of the season, Corona is for sure a surprise on this starting of the season. Tough game ahead tomorrow, playing against us, but good luck!
wow..the owner is odd....showe food in your face, then take it away when she thinks you had enoug, putting the hand on your food and taste it herself...jesus....no maners at all...but i am glad you liked the food,it looked very good
I really didn t like the food tasting. The woman was just in a rush and speaking over you weather you like it or not. It wasn t very good reporter work at all
Man, I'm happy you had a good time but for the record that meal thing couldn't have been more artificial. They could've let you enjoy the food but no, here's a thing now here's another thing here I show you how to cut it here now you must have dessert etc. What did you think? What did you feel? Was it good? Better than *AMERICA*!?!? Pretty terrible as a food experience. I recommend you go to a more out-of-the way place and try some sarmale, some ciorba de burta and some ciolan afumat at your own pace without the reporter anxiously shoving the next food item in your face. Gonna be much better. Also, the next time you try mici, dip them in the mustard (trust me) and eat them with soft bread and a sip of beer after. They really work to cut through the fat and cleanse the palette.
