#powertec #legextension #legcurl
Very informative, well-organized and executed review.
Thanks so much.
Excellent review!!
Thank you!
Nice demo. I prefer the Powertec leg attachment because of the roller pads that supports the back of the knees. When you are performing the leg lift your knees needs some support to lift the weight. The Titan Leg extension bench doesn’t offer that support as you can risk injury to you knees when performing the leg extension, especially if you are going to with heavier weights.
Thank you! It feels odd not having those roller pads when doing leg curls too. I have been thinking about selling the Titan Prone Leg Curl / Leg Ext now that I have the Powertec; although, the Powertec is normally in the garage and the Titan is up in the bonus room.
Very good review
Thank you!
You'd make a rad workout partner. Thanks for the videos!
😀 thank you! I appreciate you watching!
*I got a little dizzy from the back and forth for a second, lol
*The access of rotation = Nice
*The band talk, you are the bands man hahaha
* Anytime you throw in the Titan seated leg machine I get a twinkle in my eye , nice bonus
Thanks for bringing the battle
Thanks MC! I know you like that seated leg machine too!
You’ve been MIA. Have you been working on a big project?
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews
No projects yet (When I do a video its usually a spur of the moment thing and i just do it on the spot till its finished , one take philosophy for each part to keep it as raw as possible. Just been working OT so not MIA just limited time lol
@@ShawntreezyBreezy sounds good! Glad everything is okay.
When I first started the video I thought you were going to say...."My name is Michael Westen, I used to be a spy."
I had to Google that reference.
great job..i have the titan plate loaded high/low pulley and the titan compact hack squat machine. Im not a titan fanboy but they have decent prices and super fast shipping. Ive been looking into the leg ext machines..thanks
Nice! I’m glad the video was helpful. I think both Titan pieces you have are great and the plate loaded high/low pulley is one of the best deals in town.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews just after i bought my high/low it went up. I think it was 404 when i bought it..its a bit more now. love it..
@@mikieson really glad to hear that!
Thanks for the review. I've seen you use a clothespin for the adjustment nob for attachments. Any idea on how I can get a replacement part for this? The yellow turn key had "threaded" off the screw spring.
This started to happen to one of the benches I had a while ago. Luckily, mine had not gotten to the point of no return; I screwed it back on and made sure I only turned it left to loosen. Have you tried to gorilla glue / super glue it back on? You can contact Powertec at service@powertecfitness. com. I’m not sure how soon you will hear back because some companies are having a long weekend for the 4th. Sorry you are having this problem and I hope Powertec can take care of it for you if glue doesn’t work.
Enjoyed your comparison between the two. I thought before watching this video that Titan would win this versus battle but seeing the reasons you cited, I think you hit it spot on.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Hello mate, i been debating these two types of equipment.
I squat +500lbs would you say the Powertec is build well enough to provide a actual challenge and do you know if it can handle more weight than stated🤔
Shopping from Europe so titan is not possible but ATX is and seems equal to the Tiran
For many pieces, ATX and Powertec are nearly the same or very close. I can’t get anywhere close to the 200 pound limit for leg curls, but for leg extensions I can. However, I typically stay above 12 repetitions for leg extensions so I don’t go to the higher end of the machine’s weight capacity. I don’t tell anyone to exceed the manufacturer’s listed weight capacity.
Interesting - do you think the result would have been the same if it was the Elite FtS prone leg extension / curl instead of the titan?
I don’t think so. The Elite FTS machine doesn’t have the bulky area where the arm attaches to the bench (like the Titan does). Also, it has band pegs and more adjustments. With all that being said, it’s 3-4 times the price of the Titan.
Pleasd show us how the bearing works on them i think this is the best part
I don’t have either of these at the moment. I had to sell a lot of equipment to make room for new stuff to review.
You performed a single standing leg curl using the powertec leg extension attachment. I believe the attachment was upgraded because there was a time it could not be done. Please tell me what video that was so I can get the model number to that attachment. Oh yeah ,the Conan parody on the rogue belt squat was hilarious. You got it right though, you are the king of garage gyms.
It was either my Multipress Review or Building My Powertec Spare Bedroom Gym Video. The attachment really isn’t made for single leg curls because it requires the bolt on end caps, roller pads, and bar to be removed, but it still works.
Thanks so much! Funny enough, I was hoping to convey the Rhino was king of the garage gyms…I still have a long way to go 🤓
I am 6'3" tall so I was wondering if the Power tec machine will fit me (expecially in terms of distance from my back to where my knee joint is. I figure I can just raise it up for ther leg extension if I need to. I was also wondering if the seated Leg Extension/Leg Curl will fit a larger person as I agree that it would be a better option.
I don’t want to guarantee it will fit. I will say, Powertec regularly features someone who is 6’3” using their equipment and as you mentioned, if you’re worried about your feet hitting the ground, you can elevate the bench and lay the seat back a notch, which will help.
Is there any way to get rid of the clicking of the plates? I was thinking about wedging something into the center of them to fix it.
A collar locked on tight helps some. Something like you are talking about will help further.
Love Powertech. Can I have the model number the bench and leg extension. Thanks so much.
Great to hear!
Just to be clear...You would go for the seated titan over the prone powertech?
For a couple reasons: first, the seated Titan will be cheaper than the Powertec bench + the leg curl / leg ext attachment. Secondly, according to some studies, the seated does a better job of hitting the hamstrings. However, if you plan to add to your home gym, the Powertec bench gives you a lot of attachments + you have a bench for pressing movements, rows, etc.
If you can, I would have a prone and seated leg curl in your routine, but if you can only have one, my choice is the seated.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews appreciate your reviews. Thanks for responding ✌
@@nessa0808 thank you and glad to help!
I’d look at availability, too. I have the ironmaster bench which also has leg extension/curl attachment..which hasn’t been in stock for months.
Sometimes the best equipment is the one that you can get a hold of. :)
I have the powertec leg ext/curl attachment with the older caps. Can I replace those with the bolted caps?
No because the new roller pad posts are threaded whereas the older ones are hollow.
Ah ok. The cap keeps popping off. I gotta work on putting it back on today.
@@Charlietales2022 when I had the older model,
I just left the caps off. Another option is to put the cap under the outer elastic part of the pad which will help keep it in place.
Ok I’ll try that. Thank you
@@Charlietales2022 glad to help!
Any newerr models of the tfesw that are improved? That powertech lifting up is an issue
Both models are the same. As for the Powertec, it’s meant to be attached to the Smith, Levergym, Rack, or Half Rack. When it’s connected, the tipping isn’t an issue.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews if its to be Attached to a rack then isolater would be better due to apace
@@slisyd I think the attachments for the Workbench are much easier to connect, disconnect, and use. The set up time is seconds. Also, take the leg extension for example, on the Isolator there’s no handles and no back support.
Nice house bro do a house tour hahaha👌
lol! Thank you! The garage gym and the bonus room gym are far more exciting than the rest of the house…you’d be really bored, but I will do a gym tour soon.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews yes please! Include ur dogs too
@@dogeshiba3518 hahahahaha!! I’ll try. Greyhounds just want to sleep, so hopefully I’ll be able to catch them at the right time! 😆
I need to see a 5ft woman using the powertec, need an honest answer on if it’s comfortable
At 18” your feet probably won’t be able to touch the ground for pressing exercises. It should be fine for the leg ext. / leg curl. If I have a family member over any time soon, who is 5’, I’ll have them try it out.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews yeah please sorry, we do have the powertec multipress and want to get the leg list extension, but don’t want to buy it if it’s not comfortable! I imagine my knees will be way over the pads for leg curl
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews hey did you get round to checking if suitable for short people please could really do with knowing 😂
@@fayecooper856 I actually sold the bench and attachment this past weekend, so unfortunately, I was never able to have someone check. Have you tried to contact Powertec through their website?
Powertec did not make their equipment very adjustable for shorter people. . I dont understand why they just didnt drill more holes.for the rollers on your feet adjustability. That being said i would be surprised if anyone 5 feet could use this I am 5 5 and its at my max length of using it I have an older workbench leg ext/curl not sure they changed this problem but dont think so..
Can anyone please help me find parts. I bought the U-shaped self spotting original incline/decline/flat bench press-2003 model. Sold it to a good friend and cannot locate the adjustable smaller triangle seat. I’ve tried searching and cannot locate anyone or any company that carry’s something like this. Please and thank you to any advice!
It may be tough to find. Try eBay.
you're standing like you ready to fight lol, good video though
lol! I take making videos very seriously.
Powertec will be good for leg traning?
This is one of my older videos. I have a lot of new Powertec videos for all of the stand-alone leg machines and a couple videos for the leg extension attachment. The Leg Extension attachment is very good but if you’re moving a lot of weight, the bench needs to be connected to the Levergym, Rack, or Smith or connected to the Multipress.
How did you sell your equipment?
On Marketplace
Let me know when you throwing the Titan in the trash
Hahahahahaha!
Power Tech is not as stable and man, the weight max on ALL Power Tech is LOW
Agreed. Of these 2, the Titan is more stable.
200 max weight capacity is pretty normal for attachments. For example, the Ironmaster Leg Ext. Attachment also has a 200 pound max weight capacity.
It also depends on the attachment: I can’t imagine anyone maxing out the Powertec bicep curl or fly attachments. However, I can max out the dip attachment pretty easily. Their Leg Press has a 1,000 pound weight capacity. 500 on their lat Pulldown.
Both of these look like junk. Why not just buy used commercial?
For the purpose of having a review channel, these are more cost effective and easier to find for many people. At some point, I may try to review a commercial piece or two.
