UPDATE: Man I really love this setup! The case is slim yet very protective, I have dropped my phone several times with no issues. There is a nice lip that helps protect the screen. The car mount I purchased to work with this charges my phone and makes a very strong magnetic connection. I can do a video for the mount and show hot this all works together.
This video is 1000x better than the actual installation video from Spigen.
Their bullshit doesn't even show or tell you how to align anything.
Please tell me if the same setup would work on OnePlus 8 pro, my phone comes with wireless charging as well?
Curious, why didn't you apply this on the inside of the case?
No you apply it to the outside of the case. The metal ring is a good millimeter thick, I would think it'd take away the protective ability of the case. This ring works really well, my phone charges and I get a very strong connection to my car mount. I might do a video of the mount I chose, but I need to order a fast charger to speed up the charging ability. Anyway, all of the rings that mount to cases that don't come with magsafe built-in mount to the outside of the case. Be aware that this ring will not attach strongly to all cases, the case has to be smooth on the back. Spiegen states which cases of theirs this is compatible with.
It will scratch your phone
So an update... this ring is peeling off of my case after 2 months. I reached out to Spigen today through Amazon and they responded same day. I'm hopeful they will warranty the product. However, unless they improve the adhesive, it will likely just peel off again. Regardless, I will hit them for warranty service as long as needed until I find a better product. Right now, I would suggest NOT buying this product. The case is fantastic, it has protected my phone from multiple drops so far, but the ring just doesn't seem to last.
That case looks like it could be a silicone material, and these things don't stick to silicone.
Doesn't stick to Samsung Silicone cases unfortunately. I had to throw mine, but in general, it has a strong magnetic pull and wireless charging just works. For my specific case, it doesn't remain on the case after putting it on the wireless charging pod.
You didn't show if wireless charging then worked?
I'm sorry, at the time I didn't have a wireless charger. I do now and it does.
that isn't a thin fit case
