I have got to remember that paper towel around the paint bottle trick!!! I can't believe the amount of things I'm picking up from you - after 41 years of modeling! 😲😲
You probably should have mentioned while you were stirring paint, the advantages of NOT shaking the bottle.... although all of us who have had bottles painted SHUT, know it well.
Also, as much as I love my Badger 155... when it comes to painting things like interiors, frames and such like that, I just use a basic external mix cheapo airbrush. It almost cleans itself afterwards!
I am really enjoying this series!

I model in N scale but watching the evolution of this -2 has made me want to buy one just to detail and display. Amazing work Dan. Keep up the videos and the great job.

Have you tried tru-color paint? Supposedly they clean up nicer and come in train specific colors

If you look at the former Athearn Genesis FP45 - the interior is green too!

Daniel Cortopassi I've noticed that the interior of some GE locomotives are actually a tan color.

Dan, would you suggest an airbrush as a worthwhile investment for weathering/custom paint jobs? I've been doing my weathering up till this point entirely with dry brushing and powders but I'm coming up on doing a Bloody Nose SP unit soon. I was thinking of doing just straight rattle can sprays since it's just Lark Gray on the sides and then Red on the noses with the wings as decals but would there be an inherent advantage for using an airbrush in that scenario?

Is there any specifics one should look for in an air compressor? Sears has a 3 gal 1 HP Oil-Lubricated Air Compressor on sale that has caught my attention.

Sounds like it may be the same air compressor, if you don't need a moisture trap in the bay area there is a good chance I won't need one in Bakersfield, lol. Thanks for the info, I look forward to the rest of this series.

I just recently found this series and have been watching it somewhat in reverse order. Good tips but I am curious why when you changed the motor why you used the old Blue Box type driveline with a can motor??? I've been using Kato motors and the newer hex head drivelines with great success - and they are much quieter. Also wondering if you replaced the wheels?

Thanks for the great videos! I am in need of a new airbrush. I have been using a VL-set, but can afford to upgrade this time if there is something better for the buck. What airbrush would you recommend for doing custom loco paint jobs and weathering?

The seats would have been a drown leather color
