what is your opinion on hulme hall and saint anselm hall....which one's better acc to you and why ?
This is so so informative plus can you do a video on whatâs it like to live In Manchester ?

Hi I've applied to a few accoms that weren't mentioned, Daisy park, denmark road, weston hall and brook hall. I just was wondering what you thought about these? I want an accomodation with good social life but nothing crazy crazy. Great video!

what are your thoughts on the other campuses (victoria park and city)? Iâve heard thereâs a lot less going on, is that what you have noticed?
Hi! Especially in covid times I havenât really been anywhere near them but I do have friends who are in Victoria park and city and they do say it is quiet and there isnât really much going on, city is nearer the uni and city so I suppose you are closer to possible things to do but tbh there is such great transport links you arenât really too far from anything wherever you choose to go! :) x
The tower is empty, Tree Court is the only block left that's in use for Owens
Not anymore :(
Hello! I have a question about my current choices for accommodation. I have five options currently: Sheavyn House, Unsworth Park, Daisy Bank hall, Richmond Park, Brook Hall. Are these options good? Thank you!
Hi! Yes I think thatâs good choices
Thank you very much. Very informative đđŒ
Glad you found is useful!đ
Great video but have to disagree about Woolton Hall. My brother was there and I loved visiting him there. It had a really homely vibe and a real sense of community. To be fair this is going back 15 years but I can't imagine it's fundamentally changed that much.
Thatâs nice to hear!:) I get what you mean about it having a community feel!
Hey, what do you think about catered halls? Are they worth it? They're around the same price so I feel like I will be saving a lot of money in the long term... Is the small kitchen they have okay? Or is it shared with many people?
The small kitchens for eg the ones in ashburne that they use for the week are quite small but to be honest itâs very rare that there will be a lot of people in there at the same time. I share a flat with 10 people and itâs extremely rare for 2 of us to be In the kitchen at the same time, even at âNormalâ meal times as peopleâs eating habits are strange at uni! Catered hall food seems to be ok, obviously you donât have too much choice and also the meals are at certain times eg 8:30 for breakfast so youâd have to get up early or miss breakfast. I think the amount of people that use the kitchen will depend on how many are in your corridor etc I think it varies per accom!
@@PhoebeJones okay thank you so much! I think I will go for catered halls then
Canât believe Unsworth was just ÂŁ160 per week. Now, itâs ÂŁ207 per weekđ Still I am happy I got it.
Oh wow!! Thatâs a massive increase
Haha loved watching this video!! xx
Thankyou so much đđ
Hi! Great video, actually really helped me to make up my mind but I'm still wondering if I could get your advice. I'll be going to Manchester next year as a master's student. Honestly, all I care about is quietness. I've had my fair share of fun when I was an undergraduate so I just want a space on my own inside the campus to study and sleep comfortably. I don't have any budget problems and I'm looking for rooms with private bathrooms, still not sure if i should go with catered or self-catered though. Any advice for me? Thanks!
Iâd say self catered is quieter as you can keep to yourself
@@PhoebeJones Thank you! Any advice on which one will suit me the best among the ones you've talked?
Hey! This was a great video really informative, thank you! Just one question, do you know if these accommodations are only for freshers? Or can second and third year students also live here?
Freshers are guaranteed but 2nd and 3rd years can also live there
@@PhoebeJones Great, thank you so much!!
Loved this gorgeous đ„°đ„°
Thank you so much!!xx
would you say ensuite is way better than shared bathroom? just wondering if i should avoid either x
I would say en-suite, I mean you canât avoid either otherwise you wonât have anywhere
Hi! Thank u for this video :-) were you able to change ur curtains? Xx
No I didnât change mine but It might have been possible too, no one else did though :)
whatâs the social life like at unsworth? not looking for the overkill that you get at oakhouse, but looking to have a good time
Yeah the social life is good at unsworth there is always something going on but itâs big enough to have the range of people that you can still chill if that makes sense! Iâd say itâs good for what youâre looking for :) x
@@PhoebeJones thank-you! fantastic video in terms of the information you put across, seeing as the website lacks the insight that students have, and are also a little biased :)
@@ic4436 glad you found it useful :) x
Just a question about accommodation prices, for âcateredâ is the price of catering included in the (~ÂŁ6,000) total or is there an extra fee for meals on top of the 6k a year?
no that fee includes meals so no extra (obviously. you have to pay "extra" to buy things to eat at weekends (if catered weekends aren't included). Sheavyn house however does do a cater package so you can pay a fee per week/meal to eat at the catered facilities at Ashburne :)
@@PhoebeJones okay thatâs great thank you, still canât decide between Nottingham and Manchester but I think Iâm leaning towards Manchester :)
@@seb131 :)! If you have any questions feel free to ask :) x
@@seb131 I'm deciding between Manchester and Leeds but leaning towards Manchester too :)
@@izzgrace6638 Both very good unis grace, I ended up firming Manchester, and my insurance choice was Nottingham :) I also had an offer from Leeds
do u think manchester accommodation is alright if I want to have my girlfriend over every other weekend from a different uni? or should I just go with private
Technically you canât have anyone over but it just depends on if the rest of your flatmates are ok with it, so Iâd say generally it is alright :)
Hi! I just firmed Manchester for English Lit and Iâm thinking of choosing Denmark Road, Brook Hall & Burkhardt. What do you think of those accoms / have you heard anything about them? Xxx
Hi, Denmark road is nice and itâs right by the uni, but Denmark road and Brook hall arenât run by the uni, so everything is a little bit different regarding rules and who to contact about things. I know Denmark road is ran by sanctuary students so I think anyone can go there(not 100% sure on that though). Burkhardt and Brook hall and both in Victoria Park which is abit away from the âsocialâ scene of fallowfield and seems to be quite a quiet area social wise. I think there were a couple break ins in some of the accommodation in Victoria park if I remember a couple months back. For the application process you have to pick 5 and itâs not in any preference order and usually you get one of your 5 so you kind of donât have as much of a choice about accom as you think you do. But if your looking for a social area and people to be around fallowfield is definitely the place to be :) x
@@PhoebeJones amazing, thank you so much for replying! I actually had no idea Denmark and Brook hall werenât run by the uni, so thatâs interesting. I was thinking of applying to Victoria Park, mainly because I wanted to make sure I had a mix of a social life and some peace (as Iâve heard Fallowfield can be rowdy sometimes). But, Iâll definitely check out all the options! :) xx
@@sophiebx2476 no problem x dm me on Instagram if you have any more questions
I just firmed manc for spanish did u find anything else about accommodation, i can't decide !
@@rosieabbott4059 what would you wanna know? :) x
So Iâm joining UoM this September and wondered if you could suggest a good accommodation for me. Iâm looking for something thatâs catered, with private bathrooms.
I also value social life.
Additionally Iâll be studying engineering (if that matters.)
Budget isnât an issue. Iâd love if you could give some suggestions.
Catering would be nice, but the private bathroom is pretty important.
for social life I'd 100% recommend fallowfield, and look for ensuite so I think there are about 3/4 that fit that but I'm not sure if these are all self catered:)
@@PhoebeJones yes, I think Iâll go for either unsworth, Richmond or sheavyn (provided I get in). Thank you so much
What course u joining. I am goin September 2021 for 2 nd year and booked Richmond park fallow field. And btw you are from which city in india ??
@@rahulkalra6065 Yo how was richmond park? might be going there
If you need to bring a car, what is the best accommodation parking wise?
If the accommodation does not have parking are there any alternative places to park?
There is a car park right by Richmond but there are a couple spaces here and there and some around sheavyn and Ashburne and in the sports car park by unsworth but as a lot of the accoms are very close together you can easily park and walk and you would probably only have a 2 min walk at most
Omg thank you so muchhh...
No problem đ
Superb stay blessed.
Thanks:)
If I get full scholarship, then I donât need to pay for accommodation or?
scholarship would be for tuition fees so you still need to pay for accommodation:) x
@@PhoebeJones Thank you!
@@PhoebeJones whatâs the eligibility criteria for getting fully funded scholarship
Arenât the UOM lectures online starting from September? If so, itâs quite ironic with the ârather be at MMUâ.
It varies for course mine is in person and some online in September
The communal bathrooms in Ashburne are atrocious.
does unsworth have a lift?
Some of the blocks do yes
is accom based off first come first serve basis? xx
I think it may be but Iâm not 100% sure
Itâs random apparently which is why you donât number your options. I applied for accommodation afew weeks ago and they say then itâs completely random
