Sailing at 17 knots in the fjord, the captain in pajamas (in Spain, when Captain being in sleepovers is like saying " captain slept on laurels." ). Not really. They didnt show the few months of prep work they did under water to ready it for lifting. Or stripping it of a lot of its weight by taking off all the deck fittings etc.
@@roadsweeper1 I think would the sunken ship be bigger / heavier they then rig big cutting wires and cut the ship underwater into pieces then lift only piece by piece. That was a relative small boat so was OK in one go. Obvioulsy this takes months to figure out & calculate & plan
It took 4 days to the Fragate to sink, but only half an hour for all the crew to abandon the ship without any measure in mind to save the Fragate.
They were completly amateurs, and reckless, cowards that run fast for they lives thinking they were in danger when the truth is that it took 4 days to sink even without any procedure to save it. And that is why they tried to falsely blame Navantia. maybe costing this extraordinary company to lose really big contracts, and maybe thousands of jobs at Spain.

@@banger2998 I get your point, but the issue was much more deep that a noob's sailor mistake, the government and the media at Norway tried to blame the company that built the ship to distract public from his real wrongdoings and mistakes and doing so they didn't care if those actions could ruin or not one of the best at the world military builders reputation, in a precise moment when they had lots of contracts coming in, resulting so in the loss of thousands of millions for Spanish industry.
So this issue is a matter of national pride, an aggression to our reputation as a country and to our jobs and economy, so by no means is a minor issue.
This should have cost many many top military and political positions, just to say sorry to Spain.

Haced un simple calculo de la energía cinética con la que embistió ese bicho a la fragata 27 veces mas pequeña. Es como si chocara un camión con una moto.

Great job raising that ship! Only took 2 barges with 4 cranes. People need to search for pictures of when they raised and rolled over the battleships sunk at Pearl Harbor to get some comparison to the size difference of that operation! This ship is only half the length and 1/10th the tonnage!

La fragata era excelente , a pesar de lo que dicen, la tripulación era de RISA.
Era de esperarse, el barco tenía más del 80% de su tripulación mujer y la mayoría eran inexpertas, incluso la 2da comandante (si no me equivoco) apenas la habían certificado hacía 8 meses antes del suceso y no contaba con experiencia en el mando

No es para irrespetar a las mujeres aclaro, es el hecho de que hayan colocado a la mayoría de tripulación a mujeres inexpertas que no habían tenido la experiencia en un tipo de navío como ese. Incluso se dice en el informe que la capitana del navío no se encontraba disponible y prácticamente dejaron sola a la segunda al mando.... Divers can only find out so much information. Until it's raised, water pumped out, and thorough interior inspections are made you just can't tell exactly what has gone on inside during an accident like this

On 8 November 2018, HNoMS Helge Ingstad colided with the Greek owned tanker Sola TSin Norwegian waters just outside Ågåtnes oil teminal. Helge Ingstad was severely damaged in the collision and beached. On 13 November 2018, the ship sank where she had run aground and is in all probability a constructive total loss.
Shouldnt be a total loss at all . It will be an expensive mend as all the electronics will be scewed . But the hull should be repairable . Ships have lost their whole bows before and come out of the yard as good as new. They should never have got so close . Inexperienced crew

@@Hugofreddie Total loss, the value in this type of Aegis equipped warship is mostly in the radar, Combat Information System, sensor and weapons. Not the hull. The USN Aegis destroyers Fitzgerald and McCain were repaired but they had taken on water but not submerged.
At least the only casualty of the conflict, was the pride of the Norwegian Navy.

MrKveite1 No compartments are "waterproof" if the correct damage control isn't followed(shutting all doors and hatches) and I'm pretty sure "Spanish carpenters" are not to blame..

@Charlie K Pero la verdad tiene que acabar saliendo a la luz. La seguridad de los soldados es lo primero (Noruega, España y Australia tienen buques similares). Lo que yo sospecho que pasó es esto: los compartimentos estancos tienen fuertes puertas. Por ello, es molesto abrir y cerrar esas puertas cada vez que entras o sales del compartimento estanco. Por ello, a menudo, esas puertas están abiertas. A menudo sólo se cierran cuando hay peligro para el buque; por ejemplo cuando hay mar gruesa. pero la fragata navegaba por aguas tranquilas, así que probablemente esas puertas estaban abiertas. Luego, tras la colisión, la tripulación abandonó inmediatamente el barco. Por tanto, no tuvo tiempo de cerrar puertas y escotillas. De hecho, en los vídeos que hay en CZcams y que son inmediatamente anteriores al hundimiento se ven puertas abiertas en la fragata.

Cuanta incompetencia por parte de las autoridades Noruegas, dejar mas de dos meses la Fragata para que se hunda, he leido el informe de como ocurrio el accidente y es para que ese Capitan solo le den una barca para mandar, se va a dormir y deja a una oficiala y una aprendiz Americana para entrar en Puerto, segun el informe entraba a 17 nudos pir el lado equivocado y como esto muchas casas mas, increible!!🇪🇸🇪🇸

Total cost for entire salvage (not including scrapping) was 726mill NOK, or about $80mill.

Well done editing it so it looks like the raising of the wreck started the same day as the cranes arrived. It cost norway 3,5 million kr pr day to have the cranes at the site. They was at the site for 3 months before atemting to lift the wreck.

No, it wasn't too late, that fragate has a system of inverse turbine that allows the ship to reverse in 400m, but a totally useless crew did all they could to sink it.

The Norwegian government has decided to build a new frigate. Don't know if it will be same design as the Nansen class, but it will be AEGIS equipped. The Ingstad will be cut into parts and sold as scrap.

@@Pablotome97 there was one woman on the boat she was sleeping. the reason for the crash was because it was simply impossible to see the tanker it was in the ships blind spot you can only see the mast of the tanker. They tought it was from the island they realised to late when they answered the radio.these are big ships and won't turn on a dime.

I think all officers on the bridge that night was fired, including the captain. He was asleep in his cabin at the time of the accident, but still responsible for the lack of training.
If the Norwegian Navy and crew hadn't been stupid ... 1) they would have selected the crew on professional criteria and not on gender; 2) had not entered a narrow fjord on a night with poor visibility at 12 knots of speed; 3) the captain would not be sleeping meanwhile, leaving the maneuver in the hands of inexoert crew; 4) with an open waterway, they would have conveniently closed the hatches, instead of ordering a hasty evacuation to flee like rats, 5) they had made a less sloppy and damaging salvage of the ship, and finally 6) they would not have tried, in a shameful and dishonest, trying to blame, with lies, the Spanish builders..

How is such a collision possible wit modern radar warning systems? Is this ship a total loss? I read that the captain of the tanker radioed several warnings to the Norwegian frigate-were they ignored?

First, the Norwegian frigate had the AIS system irresponsibly deactivated, second the captain was sleeping and third the ship was commanded by a trainee with only 8 months of experience. She even maneuvered contrary to collision protocol, instead of starboard she did it to port, just the opposite of what the oil tanker correctly did. And to top it all, she entered a fjord very crowded by boats at an excessive speed of 17 knots, totally insane.

The bridge crew was very inexperienced and failed to monitor and use all the systems at their disposal. Then to top it all off they were going 18 knots and had their AIS off.
Absolutely shocking. The ship could still have been saved if the crew had shut water tight doors and hatches as they evacuated and then shutdown the ship. F313 Helge Ingstad USD$488 million NOK 4.3 billion and 1/5 of Norway's navy lost not through waves, storms, enemy AShM but her own Navy.
The Navy later complained about journalists, police and other investigations questions. Not a legacy worthy of a democratic nation. Kudos to the Maritime Safety board for issuing thorough and honest reports.
Helge Ingstad kostade fyra miljarder norska kronor att bygga och är en mycket viktig del i Norges och även i Natos försvarsförmåga, eftersom fartyget var en del av försvarsalliansens insatsstyrka.

I think it's unlikely she will be put back into service considering how long she was basically completely submerged. The only thing even remotely salvageable would be the hull and I would not be surprised it there wasn't significant structural damage making even that unfeasible.

Los daños, por lo que se ve, han sido mínimos en el casco, por lo que me reafirmo en que el problema es que salieron corriendo sin cerrar puertas y ventanas (las exteriores, que se ven muy bien abiertas en los videos, y seguramente las interiores, que provocarían tan rápido hundimiento)
Tardaron media hora en salir todos y cada uno de los miembros de la tripulación corriendo y la fragata tardó 4 días en hundirse. Eso es una lección de cobardía como pocas. No les dio tiempo a tomar ni una sola medida para que no se hundiese.
El ridículo fue tan espantoso que eligieron manchar el nombre de la naviera para disimular su completa inutilidad, seguramente costándonos miles de millones y años y años de trabajo a los españoles.
Eso es una acción ignominiosa sobre un ejemplo de cobardía e incompetencia, y luego querrán dar lecciones.

Creo que es chatarra, porque todo el cableado electrónico, radares, sensores, ordenadores y los motores estarán hechos mistos. O sea un pastón ponerla otra vez en funcionamiento.

In order to save lives the captain beached her but she slid down the seabed into deeper water. And also Norway have had loads of accidents with their ships. This ship was a replacement of one that sank in the oslo ford.

NTB so you’re saying that the captain of the helge ingstad consciously put his crew and ship in danger for no reason. Now that is BS and as far as i know the ship was either Russian registered, or leased to a Russian company.
@@latinman1736 the captain was asleep, there were mostly people with less than 1 year of sea time on deck and only 3 people who did this full time. the captain has stated that he woke up when the ship crashed and then joined the deck. you should read up before posting BS

Se hundio porque las tripulaciones probablemente tienen ordenes de no hacer nada en estos casos. Es un barco de la Otan en aguas plagadas de barcos espias. Que prefieres, salvar el barco o darle al enemigo toda la info que necesita para identificarlo y hundirlo (a los barcos gemelos) mas tarde? Y hablo del espectro sonoro por no hablar del electromagnetico. igual me equivoco pero lo de la incompetencia del los mandos con un barco nuevo de altisima tecnologia no me parece convincente, lo de ocultar detalles cruciales para la supervivencia futura del resto de unidades me parece mas razonable.
