    Throwing is when the elbow bends in the conventional direction, away from where the elbow is pointing, whereas hyper-extension is when the elbow bends unnaturally towards where the elbow is pointing. By freezing the video when Bumrah's arm is bent and identifying where Bumrah's elbow is pointing you can determine whether or not it is hyper-extension or chucking.

  • @RatelHBadger
    @RatelHBadger Před 4 lety +3

    Bumrah is the bowlers answer to T-20 batsman domination. For so long bowlers have been reactive to power hitting batsmen who can hit the ball anywhere from any length. Now, it won't be enough to bowl at 145 to be a good pace bowler, you have to bowl like Bumrah, mix up the length and bounce in order to keep batsmen guessing.

      @suyashneelambugg Před 5 lety +5

      @@gagan77100 What he says is back spin and finishes it by saying ball dips... There is nothing in physics called reverse Magnuson effect. It's Magnus effect which changes the force with change in spin sense. With back spin ...ball will float longer...
      And a simple example is throwing a Yorker. It goes longer distance for medium pacers when they release it with backspin. For shoaib akhtar, Shaun tait and Shane bond, it's the force in their throw ...but for balls like Irfan Pathan's debut test wicket of Adam Gilchrist in Australia by a Yorker delivery was simply releasing the ball with a back spin and it floats longer as the Magnus effect creates upward force.
      To get reverse Magnus effect you need to forward spin the ball.

Bret Lee and Akthar gathered the ball from hip, but Bumrah gathers the ball from above his head, also his falling away from the side line action creates angling and the whiplash action from his shoulder adds momentum which gets added to his wrist action and boom, ackward angles and bounces. In those days we have never seen a pacemen with different bowling actions like throwing or arm bowling except Debasish mohanti from our Indian team.
    Recent time Bhuvi & Umesh Yadav have descent open bowling action and nice follow through.
    Nothing wrong if ICC accepting such bowling actions based on technical judgement& the bowler is successful like Shoib & Malinga...

    so ur explanation is wrong in my opinion.
    in case of bumrah , the ball will not dip but bounce more than normal.
    and in case of top spin , ball dips but bounce less and comes quickly than normal

  • @ShubhamSingh-lz1mb
    @ShubhamSingh-lz1mb Před 4 lety

    The man has got his physics wrong.
    If the ball undergoes topspin then velocity of air at the bottom is more and according to the Bernoulli's law this makes air pressure at the bottom less than the pressure at the top. This pressure difference pushes the ball down vertically.
    So if his ball dips more (which it does) then topspin is responsible for it. If backspin is present then the ball pitches farther like when spin bowlers give flight to the ball...

    Actually the direction of ball rotation should be forward to make it dip not backwards. He explained the wrong concept. Like when ronaldo takes a free kick the ball is rotating forward.

    You guys know nothing about science so why don't you at least ask or research before writing absolute nonsense like reverse magnus effect . There is just Magnus effect . Ball can spin in either direction it doesn't mean that effect itself has reversed. Also when a ball spins backwards it won't dip it will float longer (like slice during tennis and when a football is kicked with a chip). Journalism in India has really gone down the toilet drain. Also all fast bowlers get backspin don't try to exaggerate things ; it is due to backspin that seam stays stable (read on gyroscopic stabilisation). Don't talk about things which you don't understand .
