- One of the best missions in the game. Still a relatively small scale mission in proportion to the massive attack that's supposed to be occurring, but the mission flows pretty well regardless, there's few moments where the player isn't engaged.
Just a shame that, yet again, the Fulcrum's a low tier... - Hry

As an air-to-sea enthusiast, I always enjoyed this mission, plus, it's got awesome music, shame we never get to hear so much of "Front Line" because the music changes.
The MiG-29 sure suffered in this game, not only is it a low-tier (45 Mobility? Seriously?) but it's also a Fighter that's locked with UGB as a special weapon, and it has no variant with an A/A weapon either.
I like how Thunderhead almost sounds bloodthirsty with that "Blast it out of the water!" XD

I have the audio files and I found a clip where Bluehound was supposed to say Scinfaxi’s destruction was confirmed when the mission is accomplished.
More bizarre "Gameplay and story segregation" thing in regards to the nuggets being unable to climb to 5000 feet. I mean... Come on. That's just silly. Make the altitude actually daunting and I'd believe it. Otherwise, I'll just assume it's a somewhat forced "player punch" thing.
Scinfaxi's pretty fun though.
SOmething akin to where the plane is in danger of freezing over or the air gets too thin... or just some basic change in pressure that makes you dizzy if not ready for it.
It was really sad to see all the nuggets die, but really satisfying to kill the bastards responsible.

I remember someone, Nemo I think, complained that the amount of ships you destroy doesn't seem to matter; but actually I do think the mission updates-- Scinfaxi attacks and Arkbird lazing the hull--are both tied to how much of the fleet you've destroyed. So I think it's actually pretty well paced.
I think the scale problem could've been solved if the mission had simply re-used Open War's map and actually had for you to consider the health of the shore batteries; also having more than five fricken rookies would've helped too. I don't think they could've increased the Yuke Surface Combatants by a huge amount, or else it'd make Sea of Chaos less unique, at least in terms of internal mission variety. Having some Osean task force there would've been cool though.
I think it was code limitations. The engine had an issue with having a large amount of units on one battlefield. That's why lit fuse was so small despite on major power invading the homeland of another major power.

Also Loving to see you using different aircrafts, others channels only use x-02, mig 1-44, f22 and others overpowered aircrafts, and here we see(for now) only low tier like f4 and mig 29.

Its rare to see air to sea missions in mostly all ace combat games, but Front Line and Sea of Chaos stand out as the best.
Still got my ps2 and this is one of the 5 games I got left for it such a classic

probably yes. The beggining of the game is hugely influenced by the pacific war. Narrow margin (mission 3) is definitely a modern recreation of pearl harbor
This mission gives me the adrenaline rush. I love this so much!
Watching this 10 years after I first played this mission, I'm just realizing how dumb the nuggets are for not being able to climb to 5000 feet. They were given an ample amount of time to do so.

Lol man i played this mission with the F-18 and with only 1 LASM i destroyed all the AA guns and SAM's of the Scinfaxi then i launched 2 and completely destroyed it
How do you shoot down a missile without setting off the warhead inside?

Ac4's fulcrum feels like a fucking supermaneuverable, rolling it feels so fast
I don't want to act like a jerk but I think a pilot who can't climb over 5000 feet really deserves to be shut down. Nuggets were very useless.
