Not everything that happens on a railway is glamorous and exciting. Picking up litter and pruning lineside greenery for example. It does make a good way to see the railway though.
The volunteers on the litter pick look very much out of the same mould as the 'Deviationists' of the 1970's. I bet they don't get beer for 12 1/2 p a pint any more though..
