Bratz has wayy too much personality and character to not like, meanwhile my scene at time feels shallow. Also Bratz style was extremely versatile and they touched on diff styles and cultures like Arabic, gothic, punk, Pastel.
I just prefer my scene overall, like their faces especially after my bling bling looked so pretty and more appealing than bratz. I do wish my scene would get a good comeback and more attention
I still have my collection of over 500 different Bratz dolls. I loved how different every single one of them was. Like, you could get 2 Cloe dolls from different lines and they'd look completely different. The clothes and hairstyles were gorgeous too! But I definitely had that issue of too many names/characters and I had the crazy idea of making up personalities for all of the new ones that we didn't see in movies/the show. It took a lot out of child-me's brain.

My Scene I probably stumbled on as I was always on the Barbie website, but I didn't know much about it till I got older. I will recommend a doll channel called "Have You Heard?" and their 4 part my scene history series. I learned a lot about the line through those videos, but of course I love your content as well! As the old saying goes: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I think the My Scene dolls are beautiful, but I think the Bratz dolls are more comical and funny looking, but that's just my opinion.
I think Dylan has always been black. I think the animators of the show/movies just didn’t know how to animate black hair (which is actually a real thing, which also can effect darker skin toned with lighting as well). But he’s always been acted by a black actor, so I highly doubt he’s ever been portrayed as a white guy, mostly I think effected by his mixed race (I think he’d supposed to be half white and half black, being light skinned), but the animators and people who do the art of the dolls have white washed a few characters. Jade used to have green eyes and while I do understand some Asian people, especially mixed race people do, it was hard to address if Jade was or wasn’t, which they changed it later on, anyways. I honestly don’t like Jade with green eyes anyways, because Sasha has green/hazel eyes and Yasmin, who has had bright colored eyes at times, has hazel eyes. In the Flaunt Your Fashion game, they all looked like they had the same color eyes and to me looked ugly, because they all didn’t really match the look most of them were known for. And MGA has this issue with giving their dolls of color, especially black dolls, green eyes for their main dolls of color, which I don’t like, because it makes me feel like they are telling the consumers that with how these dolls look, that’s what is desirable in people of color. But I don’t always hate it either, because my grandfather is mixed, which I say he’d white passing Native American, because his facial structure look like of that background and his skin tone, while light, had a undertone the rest of my family doesn’t have, but he still has blue eyes like us (I also have a cousin on my step-mom’s side who looks like Taylor Lautner, being mixed as well, he had a olive skin tone, which his family is paler than me and I get my skin tone from my red headed dad), so I don’t want mixed race kids not to see themselves in dolls as well. I just hate that MGA makes it a staple, even in dolls based on real people, Project MC² with Bryden, who has brown eyes in real life, but her doll had ice blue eyes. I get they did it to Mckeyla, because all the actress had brown eyes, but any of the other dolls could have gotten it too. I also just dislike even Rainbow High dolls having it too, because most their black characters have bright color eyes or non-realistic colored eyes too. My Scene dolls were ok, but I always hated the feet, because it looked cheap and ugly and felt unoriginal (which is a Mattel issue, copying for most their lines). But I have softened to them, especially because I like the dolls looks and I would like to see a Made To Move version of them, with maybe the curvy feet being their foot size, their faces more natural looking, and having different body types. They also had dolls with bight eye colors for their dolls including ones of color, but I think Madison only had it mostly and it doesn’t bother me. And with how Mattel dolls their dolls nowadays, I feel they are more diverse then Bratz, having different hair textures, more skin tones, more types of skin conditions and disabilities (Bratz has never done that), and they do a good job of getting dolls of color on shelves (a big issue with all doll brands). I like both and I hope they can both sit on store shelves with new dolls, not just remakes. Also I hope the Bratz 2010/2011 characters come back, because I like a few of them (Shadi, Gable, ect.) and I don’t want those characters to disappear, because they had more non-white characters in those lines. I also would like Bratz to market more Boyz dolls, because besides Dylan and I think Ethan, their male dolls are mostly white. Also also, I think the thing is, and Barbie does this too, they don’t explain their dolls races, so when you don’t know what race a dolls is, it doesn’t help when said doll could be a person of color or just white, because there isn’t an indication with their generic face models. I do know that the 2020 remake of Jade had a different skin tone and her doll’s eyes looked different than the others. So I think maybe Bratz is trying to be more inclusive than they already were in the past.

4:11 mga probably made all these characters to give people the chance to find a doll that resembled themselves, this meant alot to me growing up :)
My scene originally caught my attention first, but when my mom took me to Kmart.. I saw a Strut It Sasha doll, and the rest was history.
