  • Fiji is facing a devastating methamphetamine crisis that threatens to tear its society apart. From small villages to the capital city of Suva, the epidemic is ravaging communities, infiltrating schools, and the police sworn to protect them.
Australia’s $800 million Pacific Policing Initiative aims to provide oversight and support, but rampant corruption within Fiji’s police force complicates the fight. High-level sources reveal shocking details of missing meth shipments and compromised law enforcement.
Fiji’s Minister for Home Affairs warns the crisis is creating a ‘nation of zombies’ and health authorities are desperate for aid.
1News’ Pacific Correspondent Barbara Dreaver uncovers the harrowing impact of meth addiction, the alarming rise in HIV/AIDS cases, the desperate calls for international aid, and grassroots efforts to bring about change.

New Zealand should send aid for rehab. And help stop the drugs arriving there. It's in our interests to help stop the drugs.
