  • Angela Bofill interview, Part 1. Recorded in 2020.
With her strong, distinctive alto, Angela Bofill carved a niche as an outstanding interpreter of soul ballads and became a mainstay on the Quiet Storm radio format.
Angela Bofill suffered two strokes but neither stroke could take away her positive, humorous personality and her fighter spirit. After she lost the ability to sing, she returned to the stage for “The Angela Bofill Experience” in which she skillfully narrated her life story, while her band and other singers.
Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the US. As many as 5 to 14 percent of stroke survivors have a second stroke within one year.

Angela Bofill is a very underrated artist, singer, songwriter who didn't get her due! Ironically, I saw her "Unsung" episode on TVONE for the first time on Sunday night. Then, I did a Google search last night, hoping to find good news about her recovery from two stokes news and potential return to singing...and was saddened 😢when I found out she passed away on June 13th. My heart 💔 goes out to the Bofill family. Angela, "Your next home will be even sweeter!" Rest in Heaven! 🙏🏾💕♬🎤🎶

My dad (bless his soul) and my mom were musicians. I kinda wish sometimes that like Angela, I could have just followed my heart and became a musician myself. I play piano and sing myself. If I nurtured this love for music, life would have been different. Angie, you chose the best: the world of music is the better for you!

I've loved Angela Bofill and all her songs since her Something About You album. I didn't know she is really an educated musician who had a uniquely beautiful voice who wrote many creatively original songs. She sounded better live unlike many artists who are the opposite. ... I would love the young people now to listen to her songs to be able to hear a different kind of good music that is distinctively Angela Bofill! ... Keep the spirit up always, Angie! .. I love you! ... BTW, I am from the Philippines :)

That's too bad because she had such a beautiful spirit. Fortunately, she left us with an incredible musical legacy to enjoy!
