The aim of free journalism is to put powerful people in front of their responsibilities. A good journalist cannot let a politician telling his lies without saying anything or making any objection. The minister spokesman had the chance to say his opinion but the journalists contradicted him with data. So I think he did a good job!

Mr Kalin is so calm, professional and gracious. He’s done his homework. He knows the art of strategic communication. Tim Sebastian was once interviewing an israeli politician. Of course Tim being Tim, he treats everyone equally, with disrespect. The israeli politician took it very personally and reacted with anger.

archduke I agree it’s a dying project thanks to short term national expediencies. Europe has no great leaders. But history has shown that these things have a way of reversing quickly. Biggest mistake Europe made was to allow the Eastern Europeans to join. They’ve diluted the idea of federalism and common cause.

İbrahim Kalın is the most successful among those who have participated in such programs (HARDtalk, Conflict Zone and alike) from Turkey so far although that of Berlin unification argument is an absolute nonsense. Even the most brilliant politicians cannot defend such cristal clear disastrous policies anyway, he just tries to do his best before a veteran journalist!

It isn't nonsense, if you listened to Kalin fully. He said that all those people were suspects but were charged nonetheless as you can't rule out who is a bystander and who's not. A coup is an extraordinary situation that can have significant changes in a society for good or bad, usually the latter. You can't just sit there and play a fair game while those who try to overthrow the legitimate government act illegally against the consitution.

Some because they did not pass the criteria, Some because they don't want and let the people decide wheater implementing Euro or not. There is also another thing which you forget to mention. A country who enters EU is neither a netto-payer or a netto-receiver. Until now, Turkey alwas was a netto-receiver without being a member. So far no Turkish administration ever had problems with that. Free money to "support and build democracy" Year after year. Somehow something went wrong with this.
