He wasn’t wrong when he said the story he had coming that fall was good. His only book published that year was ‘IT’.
It. That book scared me so much.
Never knew!
Stephen king is most worried about getting caught for rape
@@jimdim7750 Wtf?
Maybe because he was making a movie too
I'm so used to seeing him older that it's weird seeing him 34 years before. I love this man.
I just started reading his books during this quarantine (after years of not reading due to attention issues lol) and I'm so in love with him! His books have truly changed my life!
same!!
Same! I started with The Shining. Then dreamcatcher, Insomnia and currently reading IT. They are all amazing!
@@darkrealm946 I took a different direction after than you did! :) (The outsider, pet sematary, green Mile, doctor sleep, the stand, misery, bag of bones and now I'm reading Salem's lot). My fav so far is the stand! How was it and insomnia? Insomnia is on the top of the Stephen king list now for me
@@camscott696 Every book of his is simply a masterpiece! Even the simple ones which didn't got much attention.
I'd say insomnia starts a bit dark but gets on the natural tone of his writing, witty and effortless. I don't think I need to comment anything on IT, you just gotta read it man! The best of his.
@@darkrealm946 agreed! Even the ones that didn't garner much attention are so amazing. I'm going to read insomnia next then!!! And also It! Thank you! You should totally read the Stand (it's about a pandemic lol)
“Except for the blackouts.”
Love how he just casually dropped that
yeah and no one says anything lol
I noticed that too
He looks like a dr seus character
Dr. Seuss and Stephen King, a combination that would kill us all with Fright.
Yeah because theres like seven inches between the bottom of his nose and his top lip 😂 In the 70s and 80s he always looked insane lol
lol 😂 true
He was at the height of his creative powers at this time and it shows: the man is buzzing with energy - and he's quite funny, too.
Was also at the height of his cocaine problem at this time.
@@suneelj93 Considering what the man accomplished, I hesitate to call it a 'problem' but to each their own.
@@KajiCarson It definitely was a problem. King said that cocaine "owned him" from his first snort, and during that time he battling with suicidal thoughts and depression.
He'd likely be dead a long time ago if he didn't overcome his addiction.
Oh, he was buzzing alright…
She was a great interviewer.
That is one of the wittiest interviewers ever seen, but it’s still about him. Great conversation
Love that interviewer too. She is awesome.
I REALLY like Stephen King.... he's TRULY ONE of a kind !! Read em' ALL.....Pet Sematary is by far the scariest in print !!! The movies don't do his books real " JUSTICE" !!
I know what you mean. I was personally disappointed with the new IT because I really think if they'd just stuck to the book it couldve been great! Obviously there are scenes in that book that shouldn't be on the big screen but I think had it been done correctly it couldve been a really great film
the audiobook is really good. too bad it was removed some time ago.
No they don't do justice.
I read it and i didnt feel nothing, the only autor that scare me is lovecraft
Why'd ya spill yer beans? You sure you read dude, you just used a double negative...
Old but gold, our young buddy Stephen 🙂 Loved a lot his 70s and 80s novels.
3:42 “Nahhh, I don’t want to make another movie” LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
He's a truly likeable guy.
Great interview! Made me smile. :)
Never was afraid of clowns until I read It. I was 25 years of age when I read It.
Also, as an adult, I have had to sleep with the lights on after reading some of his books. I am not ashamed. 😂😂😂😂
7:33 He said “u scared me that was mean” Haha 🤣
7:38 👍
How humble is this guy!!
I like how she scared him at the end and then he says that it was mean lol. To be young...
"You scared me. That was mean." ~Stephen King
He's the King for sure!
Bro he got me with the "I have the heart of a small boy, on my desk in a jar" oh my God lmao
Knowing what elites are up to I wouldn't be surprised if he actually means it.
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 I had a random thought that he might be reptilian lol
@@acidwayne6928
I've seen some when I was remotely viewing certain people, and I'm not a believer in reptilians, so it was a surprise to me to see them. One was petrified to live in this realm, other just looked back at me, although it wasn't aggressive, just being aware that I was looking at her as it was one living in a human female body.
He’s said that in a few different interviews, there’s one he did around the time of the pet semetary movie where he said the same thing
Never read so much books from one author
I hope Stephen Kings will keep him alive. Come on Grim Reaper! Just give people a break.
He's such a creepy ghoulish looking weirdo. But he's OUR creepy ghoulish looking weirdo!
James Smith 😂… EXACTLY !! Something BAD must sleep under his BED !!🤔🙄…🤷…🤦…😨😱…😂😂😂👍👍
I always thought he just looks like a run of the mill 90's IT guy or something.
@James Smith
Speak for yourself.
That OUR part was from Insomnia lol
Yes, you can have him.
The year that IT came out. Such a genius.
What a great interview
He really just is the cutest thing ever
Honestly to see how different time looks when this is a interview from now and then.
Watch twin peaks if this sparks something for you
He was so high here.
I always forget this man was young once
I love him so much 😭
5:48 Jajaja is super funny, I love how she said It doesn't work again.
Those 4 great upcoming stories he's talking about, yeah one of them was the Tommyknockers and he still maintains that he was so obliterated he doesn't even remember writing it. Or Cujo. "But I must have. They happened. They're real."
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
*Rick James just logged in*
haahah yeah he loved his coke
Tommyknockers was awesome.
You always have to ask if Stephen King ever knew he’d be one of the biggest names in the genre of horror, I mean, he was writing from a young age after all. Did he think he’d ever become the name everyone thinks of when they think of horror? I wonder sometimes.
A lot of other horror authors didn't even become famous until after their death. King really got lucky there.
It has always saddened me that King’s mother passed away not all that long before the publication of his first novel, Carrie. She never got to see the phenomenon that her son became.
I just love him in this interview xDDD
I think real characters/people are scarier than fake monsters.
Cat Woman Pretty MUCH !!🤔🙄…🤷…🤦…😨😱…😂😂👍👍
Agreed. In IT, Beverly's ex was somehow scarier than the mutant clown that was eating children.
The imagination in books is much scarier than pictures in movies. Books always win
Love him so much...unique!
He ages like a fine wine.
my god the quality is better
I haven't seen the video yet but If I had to guess setting a story in someplace other than Maine.
“Except for the blackouts”
Sooo we’re just not gonna talk about that?
This guy was cocked up AF
My favourite Stephen King book is IT because he mentions my 6th and 8th birthdays and on my 7th birthday-31st May1984- I moved house for the first time.
Crazy he talked about his fear of cars and then was almost killed by one some 13 years later
King Unleashed!
"Except for the blackouts" 😂
I have the read the DARK Tower twice💪
Holy cow. Even though he's sitting down, you can tell he's really tall.
What a lovely lady….
Ironically enough, his impression of the toaster reminded me of Jack Nicholson
When I heard him say something about lizard skin boots and she said alive or not he said no they could crawl a little bit at night. I was like hmm are we gunna get a book about this 😱
I love SK but good God was he high during this interview.
Yes we can tell
We love you Stephen💋💞
she's a really good interviewer!
He looked like a citizen of Whoville back then. 🤣
6:30 a breakdown on some horror concepts
Spongebob would be proud of them dentures
I love him and his books, i've got a great collection. My latest book is 'If It Bleeds' and i like it. My favorite will always be 'It' :D. My first book from him was 'Cujo' and 'Carrie' that's when i saw he'll be my favorite writer :D. I love seeing videos about him, and in this video i can see some Dahmer in he. :D :D. Am i the only?
Funny he mentions cars and trucks.
I have an ability to see spirit world and have seen some nasty looking and rather unique creatures, and was really surprised to later discover that King described identical looking ones in his books. To me it proves that they really exist, whether he realises it or not. My guess is that there's something more going on than him just making those monsters up. He's aware of them too, or even can see them.
Imagine if we had gotten an unrated version on Maximum Overdrive.
A toaster voiced by Clint Eastwood would be scary.
He loved the coke around this time.
Actually started looking around to see if I could find an interview during this era with him high or drunk, but he always seems so level-headed. It's weird to see this and then read about how he describes what his drug use was like.
@@rhysm.5915 He might have been high here, I mean the guy wrote books while on drugs. His brain was perfectly level-headed for this stuff, on or off the coke.
Why does someone always feel the need to make comments like this?
@@rhysm.5915 look up his interview with ac/DC on here
What DIDN'T be love!!?? From Powder all the way with the pills...I don't think he was picky just NEEDED a lot while writing.....I'm sure he is sober now?? Idk?? He can afford em....
How long has the Psychiatrist story worked for him
funny he's afraid "trucks and cars" and he got hit by one in 1999.
I need those glasses
Never forget who the Stephen King was before Stephen King -- Shirley Jackson
I’m not afraid of King’s work yet I see people saying stuff like “the book really scared me” i don’t know but your opinion
so?
@@FredMaverik i don’t know what you mean, I literally said I don’t find his books or movies particularly scary.
@@BigBoris Have you read any?
@@w1ldn0ut70 well I wouldn’t be saying this if I haven’t
@@BigBoris Just wondering.
"I'm scared of truck, there are so large and I'm so small" 15 years later: your legs agree
This video really shows that Steven King's All American good looks. I like that he is Scott Irish. I have ancestors that are. Wish there were more like him.
Yes, he's at his most handsome here.
I think it's nuts, but I think he looks better hitting old age. He looks like a Dr. Seuss grandpa rather than a sleazy 70's record producer look
I wonder how Stephen feels about Tesla lol I can see him now in his basement, just pacing and talking to himself 😂😂
'Except for the blackouts'
Either he has the worlds shiniest glasses ever created or there is actually a soul possessing those lens!
🎸
He said, imagination. I wrote heaps but it was thrown out by my sister. Too deep.
Who is the interviewer?
Alan Minne Marilyn Monroe I think
@Alan Minne
The interviewer was Marilyn Monroe.

I remember seeing his Florida beach house and how there was no public parking anywhere and thinking "this is how he keeps black people from using his beach"...
He's kinda funny.

He’s on drugs/alcohol in this interview. Not under the influence, but using on some regular basis. Just saying. Glad he’s sobered up.
Drugs = alcohol
Me too

There's only one King😊

An educated literate public scares him the most. Luckily he has nothing to worry about there.
His writing style is scary enough
his smile looks like pennywise
Yes I saw CARRIE ,SHINING.I could not watch IT

He was cute when he was young. Now he looks a bit weird.
when did he change his front teeth?
haha the ending was just perfect payback
Polluck knows something.

Stephen King is the halfway mark of Christopher Reeve transforming into a gerbil.
