What is a Group Home vs Assisted Living Facility?

The most common question we receive is what’s the difference between a group home vs assisted living facility. The short version is an assisted living facility or residential assisted living is a form of a group home! A group home is a congregate shared living space with unrelated individuals using common spaces amongst one another.
One thing I can say is assisted living will typically requires more hands on from your operator and staff vs a group home. The population you are targeting are seniors that are disabled, sometimes with Alzheimer’s, dementia and maybe some sort of cognitive disorder for memory care.
It’s no right or wrong way to invest whether its a group home for mental illness or a residential assisted living home. Let me know in the comments which facility would you prefer to start off with?
