- How to reset service reminders (oil and general inspection) in Volkswagen Golf MK7 without diagnostic tools like VCDS. This procedure will reset both oil and inspection to default values (distance and time) after you perform necessary maintenance around your car.

Its the same when your supposed to switch windshield wipers & you have to do a weird button trick to get them up coz their electrically controlled. At least on my MK7 GTI Clubsport 👍

Perfect thanks. Following this resets the oil change reminder back to 365 days or 15000kms... However it did not reset the inspection reminder. This was done by following the same process but with the hazard lights on.

Thanks worked like a charm, 1 question... would VW have an issue if your car came in sooner than expected or later for yearly inspection/ service because the car is not showing the same reading as the dealership records

Is it possible to reset only inspection without oil change? I have inspection warning, but I did maitance couple month ago, VW dealer said it some issue because change year or something like that and offer to come to reset it, but for me it is waste of time. I want to keep my oil change, but only to reset inspection, possible to do that? I didn't get that from your video. Thanks a lot for reply.

Hi, Can you advise the procedure for the Skoda Octavia Mk3 (2013) please? I have tried as shown and I only get the option to "reset service" which works but I still get the "Service Now" message and noise. I've tried the hazard light procedure too and still only get option to reset service. Thanks.
Update: had to get it reset from an independent garage using their diagnostic machine (Snapon).
I only needed to reset inspection so just wait a second and then it skips oil reset and goes to reset inspection and then press ok 👍 thanks for video. I also forgot how to do it 😄

Great video, but found that we had to have the vehicle status message showing when due on centre display before attempting to find the reset oil message in the instrument cluster.

I did oil change reset and immediately engine light went on, on the dash board. Im not sure if i did reset inspection. What could be the problem?
Do you know the method to do this on Audi a3 8v. Or know a non paied for app that you can use obd to rest?
In Audi A3 you can reset oil maintenance from the MMI screen.
For the service reminder, you need diagnostic interface like OBDeleven.
Successfully reset the inspection; however, it says 730 days.
I live in Texas and the inspection and registration are tied together into one sticker. Therefore, they each need to be done annually.
How do I change the service interval for the inspection?
You will need diagnostic tool for that. I hope I will manage to publish tutorial about that next week. Stay tuned!

Lol man every time i forget the button is actually 2 left and right i always pressed entire button of 0.0 and it sends me to time not those warnings too jokes finally learned its left for getting rid of that crap and time if u hold the whole 0.0 button😂😂😂

Got a mk 7 service interval saying I got 9800 miles to next service but car vehicle status saying service now anyone help tried the 0.0 method reset service but still got 9800miles to service still coming up every time I start the car

No. I believe that you can only set the reminder manually to a custom time/distance with diagnostic tool.
How to reset trip computer with this analog cluster?
I have this exact car and it doesn't work. It does confirm the service was reset and then it comes back straight away
One thing left - use diagnostic scanner and review adaptations in module 17.

Inspekcję olejową kasuje się z menu systemu multimedialnego.
Inspekcję serwisową komputerem diagnostycznym (przynajmniej na razie nie znam procedury ręcznej). Można przez VCDS, można przez Carista, można przez OBDeleven. Dwa ostatnie recenzowałem na kanale, a Carista użyłem w A3 8P do kasowania inspekcji i też jest to na filmie.

How do you reset break pads lights without using any obd or whatever
I believe that after you replace the pads it will go away itself as soon as the car sees the new pads sensor connected to the vehicle.

Most likely you will need diagnostic tool to set proper adaptation channels in instrument cluster module.
So oil change in 16000/365?
Not 30000/730?
Depends on car. This is Mk7 GTI with shorter intervals than for example TDI.
