  • Exploring the repercussions of the video "Government is Forcing New Electric Vehicle Mandates and New Rules," we uncover how the Biden Administration's ambitious emissions goals could impact the average consumer. While aiming to significantly reduce carbon emissions and promote electric vehicles (EVs) by 2032, these mandates are expected to drive up vehicle costs substantially, with EV manufacturers already operating at a loss. Moreover, concerns arise regarding the insufficient infrastructure to support EV charging needs, despite substantial funding allocated for this purpose.
Amid uncertainties surrounding future elections and potential policy shifts, consumers face apprehension about potential tax and fuel price increases. Proactive planning becomes crucial for consumers navigating the transition to EVs amidst these challenges and potential energy supply limitations.

They have as much chance to making me buy an ev as they have making me give up my guns. That chance is exactly zero.

The only people who should buy EVs are those who want very high performance and quiet operation AND have lots of disposable income, a detached garage where they can safely charge and store their car, have short commutes, and have a second ICE or hybrid car that they can drive on any longer trips.

No one’s gonna be forced to buy EVs. there is millions of other cars on the road that can still be sold in a used market, even if they banned them from being sold at dealerships. I hate DEV community because they think they’re doing great things for the environment but the best thing they could do keep an efficient used car operating for a longer amount of time. Destroying the Earth to make millions of new cars every year is what’s causing this problem in the first place

Already a bad start EV will have almost no impact on emission. People want EV's = no! Car manufacturers are going backrupt because of EV'S. Just the investment into the distribution network for every years in the US is 600 billions. This is not even accounting the charge station. We are talking 1 trillion a year for no major gain in temperature reduction. Plain stupid.

California said it will cost them $20billion over the course of 10 years to bring their grid to EV compliance including charging stations. Over 10% of the country lives in California (for reasons I don't understand, its entirely run by lunatics). I would like to know where your $1 trillion/year number comes from, doing the math based on California's estimates brings it to around $17 billion/year for the entire country which is a huge gap from your number of $1 trillion/year.

@@dan537 Dan, take any budget figures from California with a huge grain of lithium salt. As we've seen from the EVangelists, they rarely spotlight the full "ALL-in" costs using practical figures. Instead, their game is to throw out a number today that seems (if one believes them) to be a wise investment. What they don't tell you is that they ignored the engineers that explained the full set of upgrades that would be required, and in 1-3 years later they will be coming back to the table for an additional tranche request for funding now that they've lock you in with sunk costs of your previous investment, in much the same way that construction contractors to the gov't give low bids and then run over budget costing 2-5x the quoted costs before the project began.
