To be honest supercell will never fix the gold shortage as it is an extremely easy way for them to make money giving off deals (such as the recent leveling up and powerpoint deals).
NGL, I think that the fix would be removing power points. Hear me out - if we only upgrade with coins, and everything else is either coin or gem, we'd have more coins because the brawl pass slots with power points would be gold instead, people could choose whether or not to upgrade a brawler's level or buy a new gear for them, and.. it'd just be more simple having two premium currencies (bling and gems) and one for only upgrading stats, honestly.
A better alternative is a pretty famous one, only power points are needed to upgrade brawlers, and gold is for gadgets, gears, starpowers and hypercharge

Brawler should only require power points to level up. The rate at which they add new stuff to the game free to play players will never be able to keep up. You need 15k for new brawler and 20k if you want to max them with one of each star power gadget gear and supercharge. Not to mention the cost of buying hyper charges for old brawlers
Being able to sell star powers and gadgets wouldn't really be that beneficial long term. In the short term it'll allow you to get specific gadgets and starpowers you want but overtime it would still take the same amount of time to max out.
@jareth4649 you need a P9 with Star Power and gadget to even get there. In Clash Royale you can farm masteries by just playing event, and don't even upgrade a card until you know you'll unlock 2nd task

Bro, you forgot to mention how (pre box removal) you could buy power points in a 1gold-to-2power points exchange. Not to mention how you could NOT get more power points than what you could spend (plus any excess power points would be automatically converted to gold) Now, you keep infinetly stacking power points to the point that you can mac out 10 or more brawlers (minus the gold for it) even if you are only missing 3. Honestly the old system made things so much better, but given a way to exchange them againg it could start to fix the problem.

i have like 27k power points and 2k gold (gonna buy a star power when i hop on though) and its so annoying bc the problems only getting worse, like i dont remember a single time after club league was removed that ive had more gold than power points or even anything remotely close
Honestly power points have no reason to exist at all. I can see why they were added in the first place (to make progression slow and keep players for a longer time, because the game had like 20 brawlers) but now, with 80 brawlers you need to play for a year to level up at least half of them, and you will have 30k power points with no brawlers to spend them on which is just stupid. If you delete power points and adjust price for leveling up progression will be so much better and you'll feel that you are progressing towards your goals instead of just living from brawl pass to brawl pass because you have no gold to spend.
bro i came to the game after a few years and ive gotten four full brawl passes, mastered all of my 65 brawlters to bronze 1 for coins and some to silver 2 too and i barely got 9 brawlers maxed like wth
A healthy game would give us proportionally more gold than power points because if we can't upgrade brawlers due to a lack of power points, there are other things to spend gold on, so it doesn't end up being useless like power points currently are.

You know, as a F2P I have 24k Powerpoints en 22k Gold at the moment (with 25 maxed out brawlers who have both Gadgets and Star Powers and 2 Gears per brawler): I spend my coins at the beginning of each update. I honestly didn't get affected by the Gold-shortage that much tbh.. I think the Masteries are playing a huge role in this tho, because I only have like 15 brawlers to go until I officially have all the Coins from the Masteries (all brawlers at least Silver II in Masteries). And don't underestimate Starr Drops, because they're also a source of coins!! And don't forget that you should spend your gems on the new Hypercharges, when they get released!!
Idea for hypercharges: cost 5k gold OR 5k power points! I see no issues with this solution, or just making it power points only. After all, since there’s no 2nd option, it’s a permanent upgrade

You use to be able to convert power points into gold when you hit the power point cap. But then they took it away and that’s when the shortage really began If they could revert that change at a higher cap or let you get gears with power points then I personally think that would mend the issue smoothly
I have been playing brawl stars since 2018, I never spend that much literally only buying brawl passes and rn I have lots of coins and power points with no brawlers to spend on. I feel like the problem is that back then the economy wasn't as bad and people actually had surplus amount of coins. That is why silver and gold skins exists, mainly for those with abundant amount of coins. But things changed around the gears update and the gears update 2.0 making coins more valuable than ever. I really feel bad for the newer players since they have to struggle so much with the economy.
when brawl boxes were in the game, if you got to the point where you have max power points on a brawler you wouldnt get more from that brawler, wich meant it went to other characters, eventually there would be no more power poits to give so you got them in coins in a 1 to 1 ratio. I think making it so that system was good, if you excede the limit of power points, it should be converted in a 1 to 1 ratio. edit: now that I think about it it might've been a 1 to 2 conversion (1 powerpoint = 2 gold)
just bring the boxes back and the old powerpoint system? so it would fix 2 problems like the gold since once you run out of brawlers to accumulate power points you get gold and people being able to max 1 brawler and not needing to touch any other brawler
Star drops are pretty much useless since they added skins and pins to them. Anytime I get a epic, mythic, or legendary 99.8% of the time it's skins or pins.
They should either move bling chances to only ranked or remove bling entirely of the game. Cosmetics are cool and all but sacrificing progression for them is detrimental for f2p players. They should make it so that if you want cosmetics either play competitive or pay real money. That was there’s more room for gold in the brawl pass and star drops

What happened to the gold rush events. The event that would happen like once per month where you’d get coins for every point of xp you earned. That event hasn’t happened in what seems like forever.
Personally i think a good way to fix this issue is to stop requiring gold to level up brawlers and only using power points because it would save 7760 gold per brawler in just levels and then implement a system where you can trade gold for power points and power points for gold so nobody can have too much of one thing

I reached legendary 2 on ranked, getting closer and closer to masters. Dood. I already done the math, Dood. Discarding the option to buy Hypercharges with gold. With the gold of the masteries, and the gold i get from the free pass and star drops... I'l be finally maxing out and still have enought gold for Draco. A idea i had was to make buying gears 75% gold and 25% powerpoints and for star powers and gadgets itll be a 80/20 and hypercharges can be 4000 coins and 1250 powerpoints, so its more expensive technically but actually more fair for the alot of power points people, like me(i have 3000 powerpoints and literally 3 coins to my name) Another idea is to add another daily star drop so itll be 4 star drops out of 8 games, butitll be quite short so id probably make it 10 games and 4 star drops,also yeah if we see at the power 11 upgrade you need 2.8k coins and 1440 power points, so you can also add a trading like thing where you p roughly Get 2 powerpoints for every one coin, which will make both of the community happy. Also custom quests (such as big game boss fight etc) where you get 2 quests every like week and you gotta win like 10 games for 500 coins and 1000 power points and if you reroll you get a harder quest like win 15 games with doug in knockout and do 160k damage (stuff like that) and that rewards lets say 2.5 times the previous 500 coins and or the other quest for 1000 powerpoints and you can only reroll once
Those who buy pass has more PP and those who F2P it has more gold. Also it's actually moderate, it's just I save PP for a particular upgrade not equalising everything brawlers upgrade
They should make it to where the power points are used to level up brawlers and make it to where gold is only used for buying things like gadgets and star powers
Another idea they can implement is having a new form of currency be solely used for unlocking gadgets, gears, star powers and hypercharges. Then, they can remove power points from the game and have upgrading your brawlers solely need gold. This way there will be two forms of currency, each for a different purpose. Since right now power points feel kinda repetitive to the way gold is obtained and used. This new currency can be called "Upgrade Tokens" or something like that.

Bro I have 60k gold and 8k PP. I constantly am running short on PP but always seem to have enough gold. Disclaimer: I only buy brawl pass plus which may contribute to my gold abundance. But other than Brawl Pass plus that is all I buy
I can't get gold in any way, shape or form. The season road thing lasts too much, the trophy road gives me like 50 coins, and ive already mastered every brawler to the tier where they give me gold.
I think the solution is kinda simple, just make power points useful for something else. Instead of gadgets and gears costing gold they can cost power points and keep star power and hypercharge gold only. This or your suggestion to make a conversion system.
I personally think gears are really overpriced , i mean they're the same cost as a gadget but they're only small buffs , i think they should be like 250coins for the common ones 500 for de epics and 750 for the mythic ones

My biggest challenge as a f2p right now, is getting a true gold skin. It looks horrible, it is expensive as fu#k, but I want it for the flex. Not every f2p player can get a true gold skin. (I have all my brawlers at least power nine, almost all power ten, all with star powers and gadgets)
imo they should remove gold cost from upgrades and make gold primarily for gadgets starppowers etc, and refund players all the gold they spent on upgrades

Im aware of the shortage. That's why i mostly use them to upgrade the new hypercharge brawlers, and the rest for brawlers i find fun.

just bring the boxes back and the old powerpoint system? so it would fix 2 problems like the gold since once you run out of brawlers to accumulate power points you get gold and people being able to max 1 brawler and not needing to touch any other brawler
Star drops are pretty much useless since they added skins and pins to them. Anytime I get a epic, mythic, or legendary 99.8% of the time it's skins or pins.
They should either move bling chances to only ranked or remove bling entirely of the game. Cosmetics are cool and all but sacrificing progression for them is detrimental for f2p players. They should make it so that if you want cosmetics either play competitive or pay real money. That was there’s more room for gold in the brawl pass and star drops
Other solution would be to completely remove power points from the game

Tbh the thing that i think made the coin shortogae is that they removed the individual power point system because now you can spent all of your coins at a time and not have to wait for the individual brawler to get powerpoints from the boxes

What happened to the gold rush events. The event that would happen like once per month where you’d get coins for every point of xp you earned. That event hasn’t happened in what seems like forever.
Personally i think a good way to fix this issue is to stop requiring gold to level up brawlers and only using power points because it would save 7760 gold per brawler in just levels and then implement a system where you can trade gold for power points and power points for gold so nobody can have too much of one thing
I haven’t watched the video yet but my opinion would be to have a constant gold shower event, where a win = 10 gold and a loss = 2 with a max of 400 gold a day

I played since global launch, I'm 5 brawlers aways from being maxed out. I reached legendary 2 on ranked, getting closer and closer to masters. Dood.
I already done the math, Dood. Discarding the option to buy Hypercharges with gold. With the gold of the masteries, and the gold i get from the free pass and star drops... I'l be finally maxing out and still have enought gold for Draco.
Then i just get the hypers with gems and from the legendary drops i get from ranked.
Every time I get a new brawler I really don't get excited because I don't have the gold to upgrade them and make them usable in power league

A idea i had was to make buying gears 75% gold and 25% powerpoints and for star powers and gadgets itll be a 80/20 and hypercharges can be 4000 coins and 1250 powerpoints, so its more expensive technically but actually more fair for the alot of power points people, like me(i have 3000 powerpoints and literally 3 coins to my name)
Another idea is to add another daily star drop so itll be 4 star drops out of 8 games, butitll be quite short so id probably make it 10 games and 4 star drops,also yeah if we see at the power 11 upgrade you need 2.8k coins and 1440 power points, so you can also add a trading like thing where you p
roughly Get 2 powerpoints for every one coin, which will make both of the community happy.
Also custom quests (such as big game boss fight etc) where you get 2 quests every like week and you gotta win like 10 games for 500 coins and 1000 power points and if you reroll you get a harder quest like win 15 games with doug in knockout and do 160k damage (stuff like that) and that rewards lets say 2.5 times the previous 500 coins and or the other quest for 1000 powerpoints and you can only reroll once

They should make it to where the power points are used to level up brawlers and make it to where gold is only used for buying things like gadgets and star powers
Another idea they can implement is having a new form of currency be solely used for unlocking gadgets, gears, star powers and hypercharges. Then, they can remove power points from the game and have upgrading your brawlers solely need gold. This way there will be two forms of currency, each for a different purpose. Since right now power points feel kinda repetitive to the way gold is obtained and used. This new currency can be called "Upgrade Tokens" or something like that.
They technically did that for the gears when they implement them

I personally think gears are really overpriced , i mean they're the same cost as a gadget but they're only small buffs , i think they should be like 250coins for the common ones 500 for de epics and 750 for the mythic ones

Brawl stars always had a problem. Its the community CRYING ABT UNBALLANCE IN CURRENCY when there should be one to encourage ppl to spend money to keep the game alive 💀. Im a f2p and tho i get the bad side of this, the game is the most f2p game from supercell(cimpared to the others)
My biggest challenge as a f2p right now, is getting a true gold skin. It looks horrible, it is expensive as fu#k, but I want it for the flex. Not every f2p player can get a true gold skin. (I have all my brawlers at least power nine, almost all power ten, all with star powers and gadgets)
Thes should just bring back the power point cap and make the rest convert into gold.
I think brawler upgrades should either cost half the gold or no gold at all.
