- The Miyoo Mini Plus has pretty much solved my portable retro emulator problem. It's quality but still easily put in the pocket. Thanks to @litnxt_official for sending me a review unit.
Grab yours here: www.litnxt.com/products/miyoo...
Make sure the 128G+Onion SD Card is selected since that's the unit I can verify and recommend.
What game would you play first? What are your favourite handheld emulators? - Hry
Thanks to @litnxt_creator for sending this unit to show off.

Make sure the 128G+Onion SD Card is selected since that's the unit I can verify and recommend. Funnily enough for Black Friday they currently have it 20%. What a nice coincidence.
Just unboxed mine and all the pokemon games just go to a black screen when I go to run the game. Any ideas?
Nintendo’s really dumb for not having a device like that on the market. It’s basically a perfected gameboy.
Yup
It could sell millions
Nintendo cannot emulate all the system these kind of device can do like sega and ps1 plus nintendo will charge like 50 dollars for just a game of mario lol
The problem is they would want to charge $30 to $60 for each 20-30 year old rom. Emulators are the community flipping the bird to corporate greed. I care about a coprations bank account as much as they care about mine. Eye patch ahoy matey!
Also i think they cant make something that good. Not just because of licensing challenges, but also cuz best case scenario they would still not be able to have ps1, mega drive, arcade etc etc so let nintendo do their thing lets buy this instead 😂
@@pleasuretokillyep it would cost a lot for a meh library and maybe even subpar emulation
Bro, sold. I've been looking for something like this for years. Tetris for the Gameboy is my go to.
These always remind me I haven't played Chrono Trigger yet.
My cheapie handheld is the Anbernic RG351v. It does most of the same, but it's a bit bulkier and it cost me a little more at the time than the Miyoo Mini does now. I'm a big fan of it.
The Steam Deck or the Switch are what (maybe) go in the bag if I'm going out of town. My little Anbernic is what goes in the bag every day. Small enough to be unobtrusive. Cheap enough that I wouldn't sweat it being broken or stolen.
This and Odin 2 is all I need for retro gaming.
I got the same Miyoo Mini+ except from Mechdiy and I have to admit I’m a huge fan. It’s great for on the go. I get all the fuss. And playing all the GB, GBC and GBA on that crisp clean screen is a beauty. 😍
Did you get it with their own custom case? Does it fit a small charger or power bank in it? I'm really interested in buying from mechdiy too their custom case is gorgeous.
Thank you Jordan. You were right. All my backups are here without me digging in the attic or wherever I stuck that system last time I had it out. (I've been out of the MAME for TWENTY years now. Ugh!) This is so simple.
Love seeing a wide variety of reviews!
Great review! And bonus points for mentioning Alundra.
Startropics is what I'd load up to play! I have a lot of fond memories of watching my mom play that game when i was a kid, and I love the music.
Thank you Jordan. Buying one right now.
Really appreciate your take on these types of devices. I can get a lot of opinions on devices, but i feel you play games more first so you know how it should feel on these types of devices. Btw it would be Metal Slug 2 with all its slow down glory.
Got 2. One in an EMP Proof Bag! So next level Gaming preparedness!
You'll be ready when WW3 hits 🤘
Great product but I have an Analogue Pocket which is great. The arcade cores are spot on and playing old gameboy games is so much better than playing them on an og gameboy.
I have this and I love it. Carry it everywhere and I play it more than my switch currently.
Ooooh, now I need one. Thanks, Jordan 😊😊😊
Heroes of Might and Magic Game Boy games are surprisingly solid interpretations of the PC games! It’s cool that you showed it 😲
I actually had one of them as a kid and wanted to try it to see if I had much memory, but it seemed terrifyingly complicated and not really the game to play when there's a camera recording haha
@@ABitMoreJordanwhat shmup are you actually playing at the 4min mark?
RetroidPocket 3+ and RGB35XX are both excellent. The Miyu Mini looks pretty neat though. ❤
R36s is cheaper and better than those
@@japexican007and much worse quality too
Not sure which one you got but the worse one was the miyoo mini +, better was r35Xx and the best was r36s since they improved on the 35, I own all of them and I hate the miyoo mini + not to mention the r36s can emulate better and is much better quality, for instance it doesn’t have a speaker that pops like the miyoo mini + whenever you turn it on and off, not to mention at 47 bucks in aliexperess it’s a steal and the standard all the other handhelds should have at a minimum
Magic of Shaherazade. That IS the game I booted up when I got my own Miyoo device! Such an underrated game! I was lucky enough to be given mine by a good friend of mine.
Do you enjoy the device?
I do indeed! Just as you said, I like how much punch it has to play so many retro games, AND it actually fits in my pocket!@@ABitMoreJordan
I just bought it from your link. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for the support! Hope you have some good times with it.
My PSVita is my portable retro console but it doesn't play the game I really want to play properly so I would probably look into getting something like this.. thanks for the heads up.
now I'm curious. which game?
try using a different emulator or tweaking the settings, it's rarely the hardware that's the issue, especially with the Vita
i totally like the miyoo minis
First game I'd boot up on one of these: Popful Mail for the Sega CD!
miyoo mini + paired with my ODIN 2 Pro. The two combine, like suits & ties!
Bought a powkiddy rgb 30 and I like it a lot. Amazing screen. ☮️
So u give approval of this device?? I been looking at it a while now as a psp/GBA alternative but can't find a really good bit of info on it yet
Super metroid but a fan made version like "vitality" or "acension" really is fun to play on those. Also super mario yoshi's island, if ya played that, play the fan version with 85 more new maps. Lovely game
My problem is that battery dies too fast, and it sits in standby and the bright green light kills the battery. I have onion os so it shuts down after so long, but still. And batter overheats and my fingers can feel it.
My Miyoo Mini's screen just cracked in the corner after having kept it in a case for forever :/ Sad days
My new daily driver is the RG Nano, as it can still (kinda) emulate up to PS1.
Great video!
Rg nano until u start having to much fun in nfl blitz or nba jam and u realize how small the controls are.
I cracked my miyoo mini screen in corner. Bought a replacement on ebay, they sent me a blackberry display (same thing but doesnt need the polorizationnon front glass). Was honestly pretty easy assembly, there's a CZcams video on it. Screen should be like $20
@@csporto23 a lady cracked my heart because she was a narcissist after i showed her love
I ended up going with analogue pocket. I like that one better because it plays the physical GBA games and I have so many of those. I can also dock it and sync a switch SNES controller to that dock so it's like a GBA if a GBA were a switch and I kind of love that.
That game switcher is a game changer
Technically....
I have the rg35xx same screen size already finish final fantasy 7,8,9 on it the small screen is fine with ps1 games
What year did they invent Visual Novels? I'm dreaming of re-playing my backups of those.
Proud new owner of a Miyoo Mini +. I've enjoyed playing it on my lunch breaks at work, and although I was unable to utilize the stock OS, it works beautifully with Onion OS. And even though I do have PlayStation games on it, I find myself instinctively going to the NES and GameBoy games on a regular, especially playing the GameBoy games with the green filter. Such a nostalgia trip.
Also, don't slander smartphones for emulation. My Galaxy A20 can play PSP and N64 games. My Miyoo Mini + doesn't.
Sure, most smartphones are powerhouses these days. I just don’t like the idea of using up precious memory and battery and needing to carry a proper controller around because I ain’t using touch
What games do you play?
Well there are port collections from onion os (miyoo mini plus) about i already test sm64 work great with low fps, i won't say perfect but its pretty useful about i learn from miyoo mini work great.
I am owner of miyoo mini plus. As not every games can work it as explame atari games has glitches colors incorrectly.
But I have different games roms can work fine that other on miyoo mini plus.
Just got one last week. Really awesome. I'm finally playing some ps1 rpgs that I negletic. Great for trips. Now, please, put the name of the games on screen. :(.
You mean the games I showed in the video?
@@ABitMoreJordan yes, like, irididium you show the title in the end and mention alundra but its cool to have the name of the games in the screen. sometime we see something cool but its hard to search. I saw another youtuber doing this and tought it was very nice. like. not must have, but kinda helps
Yeah, I get it, i'd consider doing it if there's a next time. off the top of my head in this video I showed: Mega Man V, Mega Man V (GB version), Die Hard Trilogy, Azure Dreams (GB), Broken Sword (GBA), Brave Fencer Mushashi, Breath of Fire IV, Qix, Shiren the Wanderer 2 (SFC), Iridium 2 (GBA), Einhander, Alundra, Cotton (NGPC), Snatcher (Sega CD), Neo Drift Out (Neo Geo), YS 4 (TG-16CD).
Those who have it for a few months, how is the device aging . Is the screen very well constructed or is it true that it can move inside
I have had mine 3 months. everything is working fine. Played it at least 40 hours by now.
You should check Retro game corps video guide on ds emulation on the miyoo mini plus
what game is this at the beginning?
First game to boot would be: Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko for PS1😊
What do you call that top down rally game? I kinda wanna try it myself. Thanks, man!
Neo Drift Out. It’s balls hard.
I don't know what happened to mine all the games just got erased . Everything completely wiped out now i can't use it
I always wish there was a full games list for these things. If I find one that definitely has Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 i'd buy it instantly..
Google.best tiny rom set go. The rest is easy.
Yes. Where is the game list?
u should know u can put this games on it by yourself
@@thomasbalzer3179 I contacted the seller and they were actually pretty helpful. They sent me the games list on Facebook messenger
Then just get the one you like the most since in basically all of these you can add your own games! I actually have Vandal Hearts (will add the second one when I'm done with the first) in both my Miyoo Mini Plus and Retroid Pocket 3, really underrated series.
Is a charger option built in? USB C or proprietary? Or is the dock essential?
Found the spec sheet. Sorry.
You get a USB C cable with it
Anyone know that pixel brownish looking game at 2:34? what is it called?
Qix for Gameboy
It's super similar to the RGB35XX
Anybody know a good site to get these from in the UK?
tomb raider games impossible to emulate?? Ive never heard of anyone having a problem running the first 3 on a miyoo mini plus.
I really wanted to lobe this device, but mine doesn't retain its favorites list. It constantly empties the list. I don't know if mine is defective or not, but a system with that many games to sort through needs a good and reliable favorites list.
I haven’t noticed that issue but I’ll keep an eye out
You using a name brand sd card? If you're using some odd Chinese sd card it could be the culprit
Just using the SD card that came with it, so maybe that's the issue.
What is the game at 0:30 right at the beginning. Never seen it before and it looks awesome.
Iridium 2 on the GBA. Pretty decent game.
The PS Vita is by _far_ the best handheld for emulation. It's not even close. The Miyoo mini is extremely flimsy and has poor battery life IME. I've also had it struggle with some ps1 emulation.
It looks like it will charge and play simultaneously!
Mine is white but yay now we share one
Is the battery better than a psp?
Press menu + power button to screen shot.
Cool little device. I think I more prefer the one and done capability of the steam deck though. Definitely not pocketable, but I don't mind just throwing it in my back pack
Why not both?
@@iBroTuber Just cause I emulate everything on steamdeck. No need for multi devices, for my personal use case
Don't know what problem you have with Tomb Raider I'm currently playing first part on my mini plus and so far I'm on about 75% of the game, it runs at stable 60fps with no issues whatsoever... I enjoyed it like the first time I played it over 20 years ago and this is maybe my 10th time to play it over again
I think it was Tomb Raider 3 I played
Shiren 🤘
First thing I would boot up would be Lufia 2
Did someone say Physical Paradise?.... 👀
That’s adorable, way too small for my aging eyeballs though.
I own both the regular and plus. The plus is worse. Seems like junky hardware. It skips when I turn in on. 2-3x's it wouldn't shut off. Plus the favorite list and fast forward option don't always work. The regular one is solid. I've had no problems w it.
Ok please tell me what cool car racing game you were playing? 8:23
Neo Drift Out?
@@ABitMoreJordan thank you?
First game is always Sonic the Hedgehog! 😇
I wondered about to IPs. The Force is with me, but I can't find my way to Springfield. Come on. There's a theme but not a thirty-year-old grayscale game. Funny thing. All those carts are less than feet from me right now so I'm good.
Am i the only one who got one an absolutely loved it, then the SD card took a crap. I was happy with the stock os, and i didn't want to have to download some other os and games and blah blah. I just wanted to get this and play games. Guess im askin for too much!!! Smh its just a dumb situation for a customer to go thru. Ya feel me?
What shmup is that at the 4min mark?
The glorious Einhander on the PS1
@@ABitMoreJordan Thank you!
Can anyone plz tell me what game is this 8:55 ? Thanks in advance :D
Shiren the Wanderer 2. It's a Japanese only Super Famicom game, but this includes an English fan translated version.
💥💥💥💥Black Friday: 20% OFF
Sweet~
But I have GBA Micro with ever card xDD
Heeeeey, girlfriend. Is that your Miyoo Mini in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Metal Slug(s).
Pokemon FireRed
Can someone tell me the R-type-ish looking game he's playing at 3:56 please? Looks right up my street.
It's Einhander on the PS1
@@ABitMoreJordan Ahh thank you! I recall the name now you've commented but never played it - perfect opportunity now ☺️
TBH I wouldn't call RetroArch brilliant, simply because of its UI, which is an utter nightmare.
Thankfully you don’t really need to deal with that on here
Meh, I really need a joystick to play top down shooters, pass.
why waste money on this , when we can play all these games on our smart phone now days .
You’d have to pay me a lot of money to play games on a phone
Buttons, man. ACTUAL buttons. No one who can appreciate a TRUE retro experience wants that "touching the screen to control your character" crap.
Good luck fighting Nightmare in Metroid Fusion trying to hold the shoulder button to aim upwards and shoot. Oh wait, THERE AREN'T any buttons on the shoulder of a phone! Unless you count powering it off, lmfao! XD (Edit: My brother in Christ I highly doubt you would even be able to MANEUVER around Nightmare with freaking phone controls lmao).
What game is at 1:13?
Actually, is there a list of all the games shown here? lol I saw many more that caught my eye that I never seen before
off the top of my head in this video I showed: Mega Man V, Mega Man V (GB version), Die Hard Trilogy, Azure Dreams (GB), Broken Sword (GBA), Brave Fencer Mushashi, Breath of Fire IV, Qix, Shiren the Wanderer 2 (SFC), Iridium 2 (GBA), Einhander, Alundra, Cotton (NGPC), Snatcher (Sega CD), Neo Drift Out (Neo Geo), YS 4 (TG-16CD).
