Such a great company I've been buying the products for years. And the staining applications 👍👌🙏
Wonderful video. You are a natural teacher! Thank you very much. I learned a lot.
Great video, love your product
explains the puddle or ponding issues, and how to correct.
Most helpful video I’ve seen on water based stain . How about using this to fix an acid stain that didn’t take in areas ? I have some water based stain samples. My idea is to wash off the acid stain residue. Then while damp , spray the areas that didn’t take acid stain with the water based . I also have some tinted solvent based sealer . I may use it in some of those areas too once it’s totally dry . Thank you 😊
Niiiiiice!
Once the Artesian Stain has completely dried it will need to be sealed. Failure to seal and maintain sealer on the Artesian stain will result in premature wear and fading. We recommend using Brickform Safety-Seal, Gem-Seal, Poly-Seal or Poly-Astic for color enhanced, “wet look” finishes. Use Brickform Satin Seal, a water-based sealer, for a more natural look. Consult the Technical Information Sheet for the sealer you are using. These are available at the BRICKFORM website
The Stained surface will last in high traffic areas as long as you protect the surface with a Concrete sealer. Depending on the amount of traffic the surface will need to be re-sealed about once a year.
If you are using our Artesian water based stain then you should pick an area to test to see if you like the color and the look of the concrete. If you want a brighter color then you may want to think about resurfacing with our SM professional grade micro-topping and then staining the surface.
I poured a stamped patio 6 months ago and used an antique grey powder stamp release. How should I prep the slab before applying color?
are these colours sustain on public places where to much people walk?
I just finished scarifying my driveway, because of a bad acid staining job. It is now back to the concrete gray, but shows a little bit of the aggregate in a few places. Do you recommend that I stain it now, or resurface it and stain it afterwards?
Can this product be used indoors on a floor that has been burned in with a fan?
Good video-- only problem is that I can't find a place to buy your water based stains.
Is your products available in India
Are these conventional concrete or overlays??
Hi, I am interested to pair in color with tint a project fence that were build with rustic concrete block colored in beige and columns in natural gray color. Would like to match all in a color that simulated slate o natural stone. Hope someone can help.
Stain got on our sealed exposed aggregate how do we remove it?
Can you use a different stain color over the base concrete color?
I Have a brand-new concrete slab poured, how long till I can stain? and what should I do prior to stain since it's a new floor?
Can you recommend a professional in the Los Angeles area? I just got a new broom finished driveway that dried a bunch of different colors!
I wanted to stain our patio; the previous owner had painted it and then glued carpet to it. I used a combination of a scraper, drum sander, and chemical peel and back to drum sander to get all of the paint off. The concrete was a bright white color, to the point you couldn't look at it in the sun, so we wanted to stain it a dark slate color.
I went to a local concrete stain store, the owner said that their stain would put a nice even color to it (more so than an acid stain) and the directions he provided for the water based stain were minimal -- it was literally "put into a pump sprayer and spray it in circles". I thought easy enough and did it -- and now my concrete is completely splotchy and it also appears that the stain has settled into these very small cracks that were not visible before - -- it looks really awful, like a dyed cracked easter egg.
Do you have any solutions on how to correct the splotchiness? Can I use a roller instead of a sprayer? The stain was really expensive; should we just cut our losses and paint? I really wanted to avoid it, but right now, it looks worse than it ever did.
What is the name of the cleaner used in the video?
Would water based stain be a good product to get a uniform color on patched stamped concrete?
Water based stain is translucent, so it won't totally hide blemishes or variations in the concrete. Some applicators will use mottled or variegated designs with water based stain to obscure or make blemishes less obvious. If you want to more completely hide a patch or blemish, use an opaque coloring agent (such as Cem-Coat or FreestylePro) or an overlay product (Micro-Topping or SM Pro). Be mindful of cracks when using an overlay or opaque coloring.
Hey there is there anyway I can get a hold of you thru phone or email, it's because I want to see if I can stain my concrete but the problem is that it has a color hardener and it's coming off
+Jorge Gonzalez If color hardener is delaminating, you may need to use a grinder or some other heavy mechanical means to remove all remaining hardener before proceeding. Call our toll free number at 800-624-0261
so this waterbase will leave the same as if i used tradional acid staining?
+Rene Rodriguez There will be similarity, but they won't be the exact same because the colors come about in a different way. An acid stain reacts with free lime to form a final color while water-based stains will penetrate the pores of the concrete and add pigment. Play around and experiment with it to get an idea of what is possible. You can also attend a live Brickform demo or training class. www.brickform.com/events/
if you just poured a slab, how long should you wait before applying water-based stain?
28 days.
Otherwise you could have do you lamination, Blushing or clouding.
Can water based stain be applied over acid based stain that hasn't been sealed yet?
Yes! But only after the slab has been neutralized and the residue completely removed. Neutra Clean from Brickform can be used for this. After you've applied the water based stain, be sure to seal the slab after everything has dried.
SolomonColors thanks for the response!
Do i can doing on concrete exposed aggregate pit gravel ?
Stain gets into the cement, it doesn't color the aggregate. Stone/gravel/aggregate does not take color at all.

Can I apply over another water based stain
You can apply multiple water based stains to create a mottled or marbled appearance. Water based stains are translucent, however, so it will not completely cover up or hide the previous colors.
Your manufacture just told me all slabs must be 100 % dry. Wtf.
Solomon Colors is the manufacturer of this product. Please use the information found in this video or the Technical Information Sheet for ARTesian Stain as the application method of record.
