If this dam collapses, it will be the worst disaster in history. Dam is 126 years old but originally designed to last only 50 yrs. It is extremely dangerous situation now. I think reservoirs should be constructed in both Kerala and TN States to store water when there is another dam being constructed. Large pipes must divert the water to these reservoirs and distribute it for agriculture. If there two states cannot reach a solution, then the innocent millions of people are going to lose everything. The whole state of Kerala can get wiped out. Please understand the plight of the people of Kerala. 🙏🏻

The Western Ghats region at that time belongs to Madras presidency and made this dam by British government who knows it will merge to Kerala later? Those region was fully a dense forest and later the state recognition act of 1956 it was merged in to Kerala just for the river which is considered as the lifeline of Kerala... After the agreement with achutha menon during 1970s he even agreed the water sharing lease... So everything was made with the acceptance of both and with the cooperative federalism!

What Kerala peoples say is true ... TN people use some logic, its 130 year old dam and its working overtime. Y cant TN build a new deep tunnel from the existing one by 50 feet or 80 feet so that u can use the water more efficiently and we can store less water in the dam ...
