    I thought he apple thing was about how his apple trees drops apples on his neighbor's side of the wall (which his neighbor can eat), while his neighbors pine trees are of no use for him on his side of the wall.

      Yes, I would agree that 99% of the analysis here is spot on, but the religious connotation of the apple tree misses the New England farmer arguing that his crop of apples (natural and varying with the seasons) will not every become a threat to the aged pine whose cones are more rigid and impenetrable, outlasting the seasonal shifts. I fear adding any religious connotations to Frost's work.

      This is a great point - I hadn't thought about the fact that the apples might benefit the neighbor, too! Those lines also highlight the neighbor's stubbornness, since he insists upon building the wall in an area where it is not needed.
