The IDF are doing their best to avoid civilian casualties but this is made difficult by Hamas hiding in civilian areas and Hamas not allowing civilians to leave areas that the IDF have told them to get out of.

Hamas claimed 500 plus deaths on an Israeli rocket attack on a hospital.
We soon discovered this was completely false.
Did Hamas remove these bogus casualty figures from it's total?
Doubtful.
And at the beginning of the Israeli defence operation, Hamas for 2 weeks were saying that the hospitals only had 48 hours of fuel left.
One single innocent death is absolutely tragic but how many of the deaths can Hamas be blamed for?
If Hamas hadn't launched it's despicable attack on the beginning of October, there would not have been a single Israeli or Palestinian death between then and now as a result of the current conflict.
Also there are verified reports that Hamas has refused permission for civilians to leave the IDF has given advance warning it's going to attack.
Hamas is responsible for many if not most of the innocent Palestinian deaths.
