I'm a veteran dress maker and thought I knew everything about construction. But this little trick is new to me .And how clever ,too. You girls are wonderful.
Can it really be that easy? Oh the hours of frustration I have experienced trying to make the facings look nice. I can't wait to try this. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This was extremely helpful and very clear, thank you ladies! I know most people say buttonholes are easy since sewing machines come with buttonhole feet these days but they can still be a nightmare once the fabric is not nice crisp and interfaced cotton, so I would love to see a video with tips on how to keep buttonholes neat on tricky fabrics.
Thanks girls. I used to know how to do this but had completely forgotton and couldn't figure it out even with looking at my past constructions to see how I'd done it. So thanks a lot and I will watch your other videos as I'm sure there's other things I've forgotten in my 73 years. Greetings from Australia.
Love your tutorials. There are so many online showing you the 'technically correct' way - ie baste the zip down etc etc - but your tips are real world ways that work! Thanks so much for the hard work you put in.
Hi Stitch Sisters I would you guys to demonstrate how to sew a open end zip I am making a bomber jacket for my grandson. Hope you can. I just love the way you demonstrate how to put a lapp zip invisable zip and magical zip with facing thank you for sharing happy sewing 😊 😊 ❤ ❤
Thanks ladies - this was great! I’ve saved your zip videos to my “useful tutorials” playlist as I see myself referencing them again. This one was the best - as patterns ALWAYS want you to hand Stitch the facing down. Awesome method!
Brilliant girls Thankyou! I would love to know how to ‘bag out’ and line a dress or top, and making jeans. These are my stumbling blocks and I’m too frightened to try. I made the ultimate trousers and they were huge on me. So that’s another fear.. trousers. I’m absolutely loving these videos, and your work... go girlies! 💖💖💖
Lovely neat finish! If I was making a skirt and I wanted to add a lining, would I have added the lining to the skirt facing before finishing the top of the zip off? Sometimes it's just about understanding the order in which to do things :)
love these tutorials! I've never had proper sewing lessons, these are wonderful. I'd love to learn an easy method for button holes. Mine have not turned out as professional as I'd like. The
Hi Rachel & Nikki I have just finished watching all your videos back to back for last 3 days or so, thank you so much they are so brilliant and informative I love them I have been sewing for about 40 years on and off since I was about 9 but have learnt so much from you both I recently drafted my own bodice but don't know how to make anything now I've done it any tips would be great keep up the good work it like having 2 new friends
Hi there. Am loving all your videos especially on man sewing. They have really inspired me. Could you do a little tutorial on how to add plackets to a mans polo shirt. I would really like to make one for my hubby but have no idea how to do the placket. Many thanks.
Hi Love these videos. They are really clear and very helpful. I would love a zip fly tutorial. Also installing a zip when lining is involved. Never attempted this yet.
As always, love your video! You make everything look so smart and easy! I would LOVE if you did a tutorial on a separating zipper, like in a jacket or hoodie, mine always look janky and wavy! Lol
What a fantastic tutorial, it will make my zip sewing so much neater, and it’s so simple, love it, thank you! I have a request for a future video, as no doubt you’ll have some helpful advice or tips. It’s not zip related, but here goes, how do you get various fabric types back on the grain after washing. To me it seems especially tricky with longer lengths of fabric and/or stretch/or less stable fabrics! Any advice welcome, not yet found much on this, thanks, Letty
