Christian Seek Not Yet Repose

This hymn, though written many years ago, is still just as relevant for believers today. Jesus urged His disciples to "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation..." (Matthew 26:41) and the apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonian Christians "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." (1 Thessalonians 5:6). The need is just the same for Christians today and thankfully, help is still available.
The lyrics were written by Charlotte Elliott (author of "Just As I Am") and it is sung here to the tune 'Vigilate' written by W. H. Monk.
