Treat that external rust on the seal line whilst you have it out :).
Internally if you want to clean it out, use a phosphoric acid/water mix. It will treat any internal rust that could be hidden. Once you have drained and rinsed, put some methylated spirits in there to get rid of any remaining moisture.

Ive been building and modify mk3 turbos supra for over 30yrs and learned alot about fuel and electrical on them.Make sure you bypass that old fuel pump resistor so you will have full voltage with no drops and with todays very high powered pumps pull alot more amps so add your fresh upgraded wiring ,relay and protection will save you believe me. Also mk3 chassis really respond good to front and rear bracing specially when lowered . 30yr old flex and good power can be hard on things trying to put it to the wheels on Supras

    • @-LFATV
      @-LFATV  Před 4 lety

Darnell Smith thank you for the good feedback. But yes bypassing the resistor was gonna happen regardless. Gotta wire it to the ecu and also the relay board i created. Maybe after i refinish the brace itl look better

Fuel tank is easily cleaned, there is a drain hole on the underside of the tank, you don't need to drop it unless you're changing the fuel pump out, I drained my tank 2 years ago, you should have seen how ugly that gas was. That is the drain plug !

    • @-LFATV
      @-LFATV  Před 4 lety

yea but draining the fuel doesnt mean itl clean everything.. from looking in the inside once the tank was down and all the fuel out you can clearly see a bunch of residue on the baffles and bottom of the tank from years of normal octane fuel. so im glad its out of the car for the moment

I would run AN lines if you are comparing the stock hardlines. I ordered all my fittings and AN6 lines from anfittingsdirect . c0m and I was very happy with the quality of everything. They also sell a pressure test kit that uses compressed air so you can test all the AN lines you make at a higher pressure to make sure there is no leaks before you install them on the vehicle.
If you go with AN lines you should check to make sure your lines are PTFE so you do not get fuel smells through the hoses because some AN hoses will do that especially with E85 and hot days.

@@-LFATV Upper strut bars or Upper Sway bars as they are known in the aftermarket world, are extremely useful in improving handling in sports cars specialluly heavy sports cars such as ours (just over 3700 lbs). The sway bar makes the front end suspention feel way more planted and less like a limb pecker.
Im sure you probably already know all of this, but here it is. Me personally, I would have repainted the thing and install it, and never even think of how it looks because, what matters when you own a Supra is what it feels when you are behind the wheel going down the road and carving thoes corners!
