This is the best cover of Jump I have ever heard. The musicians are brilliant and the vocals spot on. I like the relaxed style of the drummer in particular. If drums are "miked up" properly there is no reason to bash them like some drummers do. And many rock drummers make it look so difficult by smashing the drums. Absolutely no need for the hard hitting theatrics to mask mistakes. You only have to look at guys like Ian Paice in Deep Purple to see how he is not smashing his sticks into the drums to get a great result. Simon Phillips from UK also has brilliant stick control, as does the drummer in this clip. Congratulations to all though, a very professional, yet laid back presentation of what is not always an easy song to play correctly.

I think the issue regarding drumming style comes down to personal taste. Imo, the drum sound in this song is a little too thin for my tastes. Simon Phillips is one of my favorite drummers along with Todd Suchermann, Anton Figg, Jeff Porcaro (who Simon Phillips replaced on some of the Toto tours) and Neal Peart but my favorite drummer is/was John Bonham who was one of the hardest hitting drummers around. He also played with one of the simplest drum kits: 1 snare, 1 kick drum and 3 tom-toms. His son Jason is also a heavy hitting drummer and I really like his sound and fills as well.
