    Hazara Motorway or M-15 Motorway is a 180-kilometer controlled-access motorway linking the Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal in Punjab province with Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shinkiari, Battagram, and Thakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. it was inaugurated on July 29, 2020.
    The Expressway starts from Havelian, passes through Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Shinkiari, and ends at Thakot. The Motorway has five tunnels two at Abbottabad and one each at Battal, Karmong, and Mansehra. Up to Haripur, it is six-lane controlled access while from Havelian to Mansehra portion is four lanes. Mansehra-Thakot section has 2 lanes.
    Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan formally inaugurated the Havelian-Thakot section of Hazara Motorway on Tuesday 29 July it was opened for the general public on 30th July 2020.
    The entire Havelian to Thakot section of Hazara Motorway comprises 6 tunnels and 47 bridges. The 1.75 km long Abbottabad (Shimla Hill) Tunnel and Mansehra Lassan Nawab Tunnel have already been completed.
    Besides serving as an important trade route for the CPEC, Hazara Motorway will uplift the tourism sector of the country by not only reducing the travel time and cost to a great extent but also will give access to new tourist locations of Adjoining areas.
    On the other side, Hazara Expressway has brought remote areas like Kohistan, Allai Batagram, Torghar, and far-flung areas of District Mansehra into the mainstream by extending this route to these areas. In addition, the Hazara expressway will not only reduce travel time but also will help local communities of remote areas to get the maximum benefit out of this route by giving local products and handicrafts easy access to large markets of the cities like Islamabad/ Rawalpindi.
    As travelers can now use the newly launched road to travel from Islamabad to northern areas of Pakistan with reduced travel times and fewer hassles. The opening of this road will also provide numerous employment opportunities to the local communities of backward areas like Kohistan, Allai Battagaram, and shangla district.
