Is it too late to start Arknights over TWO YEARS after it's original global release back in 2020? What can you expect and will you be able to enjoy the game regardless of what the general public opinion of the game is? I've been playing Arknights for over 7 months now beginning in December of 2021 and I just wanted to share why I started playing arknights in 2022 and having a great time! Hope you enjoy this video!

If you played Arknights before, WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE OPERATOR?
Ch'en and Ch'en the Holungday
W and soon to be released GoldenGlow who is voicedby the same va as my profile.
Mountain
YATO
Pallas
The only thing missing out by starting late is being able to catch up on the same pace. However, if you don't mind about quickly catching up, then there shouldn't be much of a problem with starting it late.
Can confirm. Started playing in october, lost interest, and on april I started playing the game again.
The best gacha game I've played, I love the engaging gameplay, the music, and the character design.
You missed out on the exclusive crossover characters.
@@bijuutamer729 it's alright
the true problem are the limited banner characters, that is my only gripe with the game, previously limited banner operators just lose a lot of summoning availability by being added to future limited banners with a lesser pull rate instead of having their own banner
@@bijuutamer729 Limited banners not an issue. The only one unable to get is the R6 collab. No words for that if will rerun
What i also like about Arknights is that the devs took the time to develop the male characters, even when they are outnumbered by the female characters.
They add more male characters so that there's videos like "Male-only" run. Not just that, they made sure the males can be strong enough as the females to make those runs easier
you gotta thank cn female players for that cus they were the ones who complained a lot about the lack of male ops lol
Dicknights is a really good niche to run ngl

The best part of Arknights is the Lore, Worldbuilding and Story! Every single event can be it's own game or series, it's insane that they put so much work and thought into creating world of Terra. Especially the aesthetic design and Banger Music!!
The lore and worldbuilding is absolutely amazing.
But the pacing however....not so much.
Hi patriot, good to see you witness the growth of a new doctor.
Worldbuilding is amazing but writing is a bit boring
Also the pacing is...
Pretty much why I think it'd make a great mmorpg. I wanna create and be my own Operator. The character creator would be massively epic for an anime mmorpg too, considering all the races.
@@Hindshell5438 yeah, as much as I love the game, I just don't like the few first chapters of the main story. It was so long and tedious ngl
The game has SO MUUUUUCH content and hundreds of operators. It also has fantastic art and great characters. And it's supposedly getting an anime so that is cool. And the music, hell yeah, it is wonderful.
Indeed my friend!!!
Don’t forget about the lore
What do you mean supposedly?
It was literally teased in the last Live stream and before that it was already confirmed so we know for a fact their working on it.
Wether or not it'll actually come out? The chances of it not coming out are small honestly, I can pretty much say that we'll get the anime.
@@yusassin1449 It isn't out yet and doesn't have a set date. Hence my statement of 'supposedly'.
@@TheLastKentuckyIrregular9524 Ooookay? I just think its weird to use that word there.
I would say the gacha in Arknights is more from a collectors point of view, to beat all the challenges in the game you don't need to pay anything. 95% of game can be done with low rarity only, but it's pretty much impossible not to get 6 star operators and you can borrow from friends too. It's not a pay to win game but more of a pay to enjoy it more.
As a heads up with story, for the most part, chapter 0-3/4 are kind of grinds, and very slow, but all the chapters after that have been amazing. Chapter 8 is a major highlight. With side stories, I would say that Who is Real and events after have all been a lot better than any of the events before it. In reality, it feels around when they did release chapter 8 was when the were really getting their footing on how to write good story
Honestly a lot of the earlier events were good, but they were disjointed or had simple plots to them, also a lot of the early stories introduced characters that were new to the story whereas a lot more side stories nowadays are explorations of characters we know but haven't got the backstory on (ie. Breaking the Ice being SA's story, an op thats been in the game since release, but only recently had an exploration of how he joined RI as an operator). I will say I think that while the overarching plot of the CNY events has me interested, Who is Real is pretty boring as far as story goes imo, Ancient Forge was good but confusing, due to it being the first event set after the time skip and what the Lava alter stuff was about. Invitation to Wine is better but was also a little confusing due to all the different conflicting factions that were introduced as well as characters trying to be poetic and cryptic about what they're talking about. I'm sure it'll make for an interesting second read, but the first time is confusing for sure. I definitely agree that ch 8 is where the story hit its hardest, but I do think even previous chapters before that were good at pulling heartstrings and are well-crafted stories, like the events of ch 5, 6, 7 were pretty interesting (fuck Mephisto tho, no sympathy for him no matter what his sad backstory is lol).
Eh. Things are obviously somewhat better as they progress. But even before that the events are still really good.
Children of Ursus, Mansfield Break, Darknight Memoir, CoB are all great. Not enjoying Maria Nearl that much but as a whole package with Nearl Light it's actually pretty stellar.
I'm on chapter 2 at the moment and I always have to uncomfortably push through the start of games to enjoy them usually (Honkai, Final Fantasy XIV ARR), but with Arknights I'm really enjoying it all from the beginning, I mean it's slightly generic at the moment but most stories are at the start and I'm loving it. Looking forward to later chapters
The roguelike mode they reintroduced permanently really elevated the whole game to new heights honestly and it's tons of fun especially if you have a wide and reasonably tall roster.
Pretty much the only thing veterans play now. It's addicting
One of the best games I have ever played period. It has everything I look for in a game, fun and challenging gameplay with tons of replayability, great story, and great music both in game and outside of the game. The devs seems to care alot about the playerbase and is pretty generous with gacha currency too. Looking forward to your story streams, especially of chapters 6,7 and 8.
I actually started playing when one of my friends told me Aki Toyosaki was voicing Bagpipe who looks like a mix between Hololive Coco and Nino from 5-Toubun. So I started up my AK account when their 2nd anniversary was going on. It's been half a year now and I lucked out on spooks which turned out to be top 6 star characters. Even hit the top and senior operator tags a couple times in recruitment. But no Bagpipe. It wasn't until I did a couple of low expectation pulls on the Ling/Lee banner a couple days ago that I finally got spooked by Bagpipe.
My only problem is stamina issues and getting shafted by drop rates trying to get a couple ops to E2, but I'm in no rush really. The game is an absolute blast and the lore is great. Probably one of the few mobile games I've raged at from gameplay alone because of my incompetence and lack of a big brain. I'm aware there's guides out there but it feels really good when you beat the stages and 3 star them on your own.
Stamina and mats are often an issue in AK
Also repetition that usually happen in annihilation
Just quit if u got burn out every now and then
Congrats bruh
A great thing about the game is how anyone can clear the stages with low/accessible Operators. The staff have officially stated in a Q&A that they tested out the stages with low-rarity and accessible units (either for free or very common to get) before publicly releasing them.
So you can bet you don't NEED high rarity OP units, they just speed things up. Those early 3* folks can carry you until you get more folks to replace them.
The fact that this is true and that I can't still beat Talhula the black snake even with 6* operators makes me so sad.
A good damn review!
It's short, but hits the points exactly right
Also, long live to Aoi Yuki. She is already blessed 4 characters with her voice. Yet she done that in way that I recognized her in only half of those cases.
If we say that a by-default tier of professionalism of JP voice actors is a God tier, then Aoi Yuki just casually sits there in her Heaven tier rank.
The best part of this game is the devs. It's actually f2p friendly, they listen to their audience/customer, they try to make the game better every update, and the story is really good.
Aoi Yuuki also voiced two other operators in this game, good luck finding them ;)
Just missing Istina...
By the power vested in me (and gamepress) they are: Istina, Earthspirit and Nian

Glad to see you picking up Arknights. As a day 1 player I would say power creep is not an issue in Arknights, since every unit has their own use, even the starters or the 3* ones. Power is balanced through cost (there are exception of course) but I have never seen a get-this-unit-or-you-are-stuck event yet.
And the best thing about Arknights is that you can always devise strategy around units you want to use, like low star clear, small squad clear or auto-only clear.
The only issue I have with Arknights is that I have too many operators I want to build but not enough resources. And I have built well over 100 operators, but I'm not stopping!!!!
never stop the grinds.
Literally started playing yesterday, it also freaking good, I genuinely thought I was gunna find the gameplay boring but it's actually quite fun and the story is also great!
But... Omg... The outfits, I love fashion and I freaked out so hard I almost teared up at how good they are (no cap) even the UI looks incredible for it ahhh it's so good and I'm not even on chapter 2 lol
The UI is easily the best in Gacha history. I despise the UI of other Gacha games. So much clutter
About the powercreep:
I played the game at release then took a break of something like 1 year.
When I came back, my old characters were still top tier and still are to this day.
Even lower rarity operators can see many uses, see Gravel, Jaye and Myrtle that shines a lot.
Kroos, being a free sniper, is a top tier unit in Integrated Strategies.
Gravel is still the best fast-redeploy staller in the game if you just want a tanky unit that can take hits. Jaye is way better than Hellagur who's main purpose is to hold a lane on his own if you can supply him enough DP so he doesnt retreat because of his trait and Myrtle is still the best DP printer because of her low deployment cost and low resources investment because she's 4*
so yea, there may be cases that a unit powercrept another unit but there's still times that the weaker one will be stronger because of certain stages.
This is what I love about the game. We have lower rarity stuff and stuff that is effectively free that are the real MVPs at doing something no one else does or does it almost as well as higher rarity stuff.
Like think about the current event at the time of posting this comment, Invitation to Wine. Ethan, a 4 star you get for free by grinding for some pink certificates, was a massive MVP in the event as his kit matched up so nicely with event gimmicks.
And Cuora is an absolute unit at tanking too.
I assume ur old top tier character is either, silverash. Eyjafalla or exusiai
@@nura4277 Or Saria, she's still a beast xD
schwarz to pozy. yeah definitely not a powercreep
I enjoy worldbuilding, story and attention to certain details in the game a lot. I'm from Russia and story of Ursus and especially Frostnova's/Patriot's story resonated with me a lot, game captures bits of period of time between Imperial Russia and USSR, civil war, regicide, destruction of historical values, thousands upon thousands of dead innocent people, starvation, paranoia and so on. They also use bits of literature, folklore and poetry which was very touching, song Requiem was based on Anna Akhmatova's poem, describing horrors of Soviet regime and Lullaby is a folk music. If Patriot and Frostnova ever, under any miraculous circumstances became available as operators, I'd be all over them.
Started just before Chalter, Chalter came in then I rerolled for her. 7 months later I have 20 6 stars f2p.
I've been hands off for 3 months yet every 1-3 weeks I have enough mats to E2 lvl40 any character I may want to play with.
Why I love Arknights; Grinding isn't a chore, game is f2p friendly.
Planning on spending(support this company's generosity to f2ps) for Specter alter because people said Skalter is at spark.
Highly recommend Arknights. Fun gameplay, a gacha game that doesn't eat all of your time, and just a fun community overall.
I started late, But you know why I decided to give it a try?
THE MUSIC. Everything Is great, But the music...Oh my god, I love it!
arknights is by far one of the best new player friendly gacha game. Except from collab content, old CC and IS, everything is still playable and obtainable, you still can play the old events, play the stages, get the free OP and the event welfare operator from there anytime, and also read the story.
I started playing when the game released, and I stopped playing a few years ago due to just being stuck. I couldn't do anything. Ever since, I've always wanted to get back into it but I always felt I was too far to join back. You've given me some much needed motivation!
The event and content you missed will be added in permanently after awhile.
So even if you missed a story or a stage from an event, just wait until it reruns and become permanent (though it takes a year for an event to receive a rerun after their original release)
So there no need to feel missed out too much
dont worry every event well be permanent even the welfare ops
except the limited op and the R6S op
still waiting for the R6S rerun so people can get the LORD and fell the pain of the players fighting one of the hardest boss in the game
I felt the same to be honest. I played on launch and thought that I was too small brained to play the game so I quit. Just december last year I decided to give it another shot (since I was intrigued by a character that would later on be my waifu) and made a new account. 7 months later, I love the game, I love the story and I love the characters. I now have 75% of the 6 stars and I'm at a point where I can freely choose whether to just be a casual or a tryhard and it wouldn't matter. If you feel stuck, there's no shame in using guides. That was true for me for about 4 months until I learned from using them and I can now clear the hardest content by myself and I never felt more satisfied than ever. Best decision ever.
Same, this gets me motivated to get back into it but idk if I really want to since I missed out on a lot of limited events especially the Rainbow 6 collab
I started playing last June but got interested in the story from the trailers. I liked the art style and wanted another strategy game to play since I had quit playing Fire Emblem Heroes after I got bored of it at the time. oh boy did i get stuck on several stages aha, first time I got stuck was last stage of Episode 4, then almost every Episode onwards I had 1 or 2 stages that I got really stuck on for a long time before I was able to continue.
same on saving story to go through after, I usually read through main story as I complete stages (almost done with Episode 8 so far) but for event story, I have to read it afterwards because I'm spending most of the time getting stages done for autoplay farming. i like the story but it's a lot of dialogue to read plus the font they use in game strains my eyes after a long time reading so takes me a while to get through it all.
fave operator is still Amiya (part of the reason was when they added some of CN voicelines in game later, I immediately recognized that she has the same CN VA as Kiana/Hu Tao :D)
Awesome video! This game has such beautiful art! Looking forward to watching future lore streams about Arknights!
The variation of gameplay choice is great. You can do whatever you want with your choice of operator (ofc you need to think about placement or skill cycle to make it really works but that was the fun part sometimes).
Perfect time to start playing, especially with ling out atm who can solo 90% of the game
Please do not worry about picking up the game late. You will get new characters quickly and old event operators and skins will either make a rerun or get permanently added as Record Restoration system. Only Time limited gacha operators are a bit of a miss until the next rerun comes around but thats a total of 6 or 7 operators right now iirc.
Yeyy arknights review!!
Their anime trailer actually managed to get me into this game! So far i have so much great experience with this game :D
I tried Ark Knights but I wasn’t too interested. However, it does look to be an unique game and I would recommend it to people looking for fun gameplay and pretty characters. One drawback though is the story is portrayed through standard dialogue formats so going through some of the content can be boring (at least where I was up to).
there is a secret war in Arknight and Genshin ...
the community they trying to show who is the best game when the game it self its soo much different and does not make any sense anymore ...
I started the game for the Under Tides event and immediatly loved skadi, 9 months later I've put too much money in this game but I don't regret it, I love it.
This sounds like a sponsered ad lol
I've been considering picking it up. I've heard its music a number of times and it was good, but I've hesitated getting into it just because I have so many other games I'm already doing and honestly I should be cutting back on them anyway
finally decided to join the bandwagon because:
1. i get to hear kurosawa tomoyo's voice every day right from the start
2. doktah is the coolest gacha game protagonist ever
3. art is cool as fuck but not lewd like other games
You can start arknights at anytime and anywhere but i suggest starting arknights on big events such as limited ones to get a serious headstart
Sadly limited characters even tough they rerun are EXTREMELY hard to get after their event is over also game gives tons of banners and limited events in a year wich if you want slow pace can be hurtful
Story is amazing but i suggest not forcing your self to read it since its writing is a bit too extreme and can get extremely boring if you arent intrested in it
👍
Sometimes I think
there is a considerable chance that the game will shut down in several years and many have not gotten an operator they wanted. Even paying.
@@Orlando_P Thats sad
Started playing the game less than 4 months ago, and it was a great time to join! Now, it might be an even _better_ time to start!
sure lv 120 is a long way off, but who cares
by the time you hit lvl 50 you'll realized just borrowing one 6 star helps you clear every single stage
Arknights’ only problems are not being able to skip operator dialogue for dupes in recruitment and not being able to skip stages when it comes to farming.
My brother started very late(Chalter banner), and him getting Chalter and SA to start, he very quickly got to a point where he could clear all the content without spending.
Glad you are enjoying it homie, year one player and I still get happy when people discover this game
This man played it thanks to a voice actor, I discovered it through the song of my favorite band Starset and when super that it was a Tower Defense for some reason I already had it installed
Glad you're enjoying yourself.
As I am quite infested in the lore of Arknights I'm exited to see your reaction reading the story.
start playing almost 2 months ago, really like it.
it starts slow though ngl, I was semi losing interest in the first days but then some more challenging levels and some new operators appeared and got me hooked.
and btw I still haven't spent any money and I still got some descent operators, so I can recommend for people that do not want to spend a dime in it
W, Voice Actor, Hearing the Ratatorsk leader in Arknights is just epic.
i just download the game last night still newbie and found this video instant subs

With IS (roguelike gameplay) being a permanent update, I can confidently say this is the best gacha game with tons of replayabilty if you like tower defense RPG style game
Haha, "some are extremely hot", shows Surtr. I get it, well played.
welcome to arknights^^
going by design, cooldness etc can be dangeorus :P
that and impact from storychapters etc made me build too many 6stars early on and just later on started with building parallel the "smaller" units too
makes for a fun lack of choice in (new) modes like IS2 - but it still somehow works anyway - either with learning, brute force or other means *g*

I'm too busy playing Yostar's other game, Azur Lane, but this was a nice, short and sweet, insightful video. :)) I'll be watching the anime when it releases, 100%.
I remember avoiding this game because of their cringy ads on youtube, give the game a go since I'm bored and now completly addicted to this game, haven't spend any money and this game and as f2p player my luck in this game is really good, got pretty number of high tier units in this game
my only problem in this game is probably farming in this game, I kinda wish they could add 3x speed or skip for auto deploy stages especially for annihlation
There's already a skip feature for annihilation in the CN server.
Illusion connect shuts down im just looking for good gachas to burn time (since playing apex and league got boring) i don't really like other gatcha game plays and i really LOVE tower defense games, so when i heard about this from a friend i started to play and yep its really good
I highly recommend players start asap, once you get to the endgame, the dailies and weekly become very easy, taking no more than 3hour per week to get all the daily and weekly rewards.
The reason being Limited Banners aside from Ancient Forge has never gotten a rerun.
Once that limited banner is over, it will be very difficult to get the limited operator.
If you are just starting now, you’ve already missed out on Nian, W, Rosmontis, Dusk, Skalter, Ch’en THD, NTRK and Ling if you don’t get her now.
The rateup is 70% to be either Ling or Lee, and it takes 50 to 60 pulls for pity.
The free rewards should give you around 40 free pulls so go play and get Ling.
TLDR; Of course this is not meta relevant, nor the strength of the operator.
But are you late in terms of collecting characters? Absolutely.
You should also delve into both the characters and story aswell to find characters that interests you.
Despite the game being based about us and our on-land campaign against infected discrimination
The Abyssal Hunters faction is one that piques my interest the most, and the faction I’d want to command in a story narrative.
It’s about a group of super soldiers from an apparently destroyed advanced Atlantis civilization fighting lovecraft horror sea monsters.
Then there’s the three Dragon sisters, Nian, Dusk and Ling, they are Fragments of the Dragon God and is supposedly fighting against that Dragon God?
Then there’s Rhine Lab, an research organization with lots of closed secrets, inhumane experiments and vague morality.
Of course there’s also our own journey as the Doctor to recover our lost memories and serve Rhodes’s goals.
Then there’s Kjerag, an faction devoted to cultivating their isolated snow realm.
It’s just to list a few, but if you see an interesting character, go read the lore and backstory if youre interested, HG doesn’t centralize the world around one story, everyone is a player of their own game, every character has their own agenda, and their own purpose.
You could literally turn the Abyssal Hunters into a standalone game and no one would even question it.
*I’m simping so hard for the Abyssal Hunters, definitely going to get Specter the Unchained*
In regards to the old limited operators they are possible to get and I can tell you the strategy that I used that worked for me.
Note that I waited to employ this strategy until I had bought all the 6 stars from the 180 yellow certificates to the point that now I'm ahead of the release schedule. If you do that it's going to be at least 2 years before you can do this probably longer if you started even later than me.
Save up 300 pulls for a limited banner. This is a lot easier when you can afford to buy the headhunting vouchers from the yellow certificate shop (see the note above).
When you pull 300 times on a limited banner you actually have a pretty decent chance of getting 1 of the legacy limited 6 stars. I calculated the odds of getting either Nian or Dusk in 300 pulls on this banner to be 41%. In my case I was pulling to be able to buy dusk with 300 certificates but I got her in my 300 pulls so now I'll buy Nian instead. If the pattern continues the next limited banner should have 3 legacy limited characters and even higher odds of getting 1 of them in 300 pulls etc...
I only started 6 months late and I basically won the coin toss above as you can see but now I have every limited 6 star. I'm only missing 4 6 stars and 2 5 stars from the entire roster (216/222 operators) AND after my 300 pulls I'm already back up to 50 pulls banked and on track to have easily over 100 pulls on September 1st. So I don't necessarily even have to skip the very next banner if I choose not to. Though I think it's wise to build up an emergency reserve just to ensure that I never have to spend 300 pulls on a limited banner again.
It took me about 2 years to nearly complete my collection without whaling and if you started much later I imagine it would take you longer to catch up as well. I just wanted to point out that very little is actually miss able even some collaboration operators have been added to recruitment though this is not guaranteeing that they will all be but there is hope that more could be.
Also, I get that a lot of newer players are not considering 2 years to be a reasonable amount of time to get every operator but you never know, the game play may keep you coming back so just be patient, it is possible to get over 90% of the operators because of things like yellow certificates the ones you'll be missing will also be obtainable as well you just need to be patient. Or you can always speed the process up with money.
Ling might has more sister, and brothers.
We might see Ling's brothers in the future. Her older brother is best cook (chef?).
@@ian59 To clarify, I did not say they were impossible to get, just much more difficult, instead of 60 rolls with 70% that you can save up in around a month or two if youre in endgame, you’d have to waste three or more months saving up the rolls, potentially also having to skip some banners along the way.
Maybe you have the monthly pass and rock grind 1-7 idk, for me, I’m quite the casual player so I only do my dailies, weekly and annihilations until the events drop, so I find saving up 300 rolls in less than 3 month like the work of a miracle
@@Neutral_1zed rock grinding doesn't make enough of a difference to matter, but no I don't bother with it.
I wasn't trying to correct you only add some additional context to what you had stated. I would agree that they are difficult to get I was only illustrating that it is possible.
Saving up 300 in several months is dependent on buying headhunting vouchers which is dependent on maximizing recruitment. Also, you have to consider if you want to buy the 180 certificate 6*. To me that was the better option up until I finally patched the holes in my collection and start buying headhunting vouchers.
I have been able to buy from the store 4 months in a row and will be able to buy them in September as well. Though it does ebb and flow so I'm not confident I could buy them every month sustainably.
Headhunting also generates more yellow certificates the more operators you own thanks to duplicates. On Ling's banner I was getting 1.375 yellow certificates per headhunt I did. The point being that the longer you play the game for the more yellow certificates you generate per month.
this is why i hope the devs finally get recognized when theyre going to release endfield
arknights makes me think gacha isnt really that bad at all

Literally This is the Best thing Both Arknights And Fate Grande Order have is that you can use your friends characters (preferably you should friend a whale) can cheese out the story Quests (not the late games one) so that you can get a head start.
thank you for this video.
i love how you praise this game so much cause ive been a player since March 2020, basically 2 months after release, and ive been still playing it up to this day. i might not have been consistent cause i was lazy and i didnt want to do the dailies, but i still loved everything about it. the passion that u gave this game made me realize how much i rlly love it.
and also yeah, i skipped a lot of the story too but not same with your reason, its cause i just wanted play the level 🤣
arknights peaked few months ago, now the population has stabilized, maybe even stagnated, theyre still doing amazing but ak i feel like has become one of those games that while still going strong, struggle to grow its audience. Idk what the reason is, it could be the genre tower defense, it could be the "difficulty", it could be the gacha scene being overly saturated, or could be all of the above and more, but all i know is i hope for the best for them.
I'm not much of a gacha player but I played arknights since release and it quickly became my favorite gacha game of all time. Sadly though what you described is the eventual fate of all gacha games. Once they've been out for a while they start to stagnate and people just move on to the newest popular gacha. Even a game like Azur Lane which was huge for years seems to be falling in popularity for a while now. I myself stopped playing Arknights a few months ago. If Hypergryph ever decide to make another game based on the same world I would definitely check it out though.

Not really into tower defense game, but I know this game is really really good. I heard they also make an open world/action one coming soon, it will be hype to see that
some several aspects i like from this game is:
it seems in most of stages there always some right strats to compromize lack of Meta/B6 operators
if you have shitty luck and your squad lack of / didn't have any meta Operator, you can always borrow them from friend list or randos
AK replayability is also very high and much better compared to most of gacha games, you can always back to old stages and try different Strategies with different Operators
"If they're not coolm they're LAME!"
I also picked it up again. I started on launch day but dropped after a year and a half. Now that I’m back I gotta say there’s a lot to do
In the same boat. I only picked it up again when my friends started getting into it and kept hearing about the op Ling banner, which was the perfect place to start playing from scratch again.
Really appreciate you doing this, we dont many content creators focusing on lore. I love the story and world of AK but reading is a pain lmao, so its awesome that you'll be streaming it.
You can beat the whole game with mostly 4*. I still am a 4* doctor and once you build up a flexible team you usually have the right op for each situation.
Aaaah tysm for this review!!! Been thinking about starting to play this game ehe
I started playing AK in July 2020 and haven’t stopped since then. Amazing game.
The only reason I know what this game is is bc of the Destiny 2 collab and I wanted to check it out to see what exactly it was lol
I started the game during originium dust, although i had no idea the event was going on. I had just loved the ad which had the cut up version of the 1st anniversary video and some catchy music over it, never played becasue i assumed it would be terrible, then saw exactly 1 ad that told me it was a tower defense.
Now, almost a year later, I'm still having a blast, and it's very rare I'm disappointed with anything it throws at me. Esspecially now the permanent rougelike mode has been added.
Please dont forget about the side stories, some of them are even better than the main stories, also the Vignettes are equally important for the world building of the game
party full of 6stars gets only fun in endgame mostly :P
when I started I got really lucky with the early free pulls I got and tried in the first story chapters my team full of 6 stars and before I could place one the enemies rushed already through^^
later on with higher levels and skill upgrades high rarity teams can work really well but that takes some time and investment when there are enough alternatives if you not just simply want a team of your personal favorites^^

Great to hear you love this game, personally I couldn't get into it with the chibi style gameplay, 2d story and live 2d art/skins. Sadly don't have a VA preference to push me over. But I'm happy to know there are games like AK that have great strategic and repayable content unlike some other games with high quality gameplay. Hope AK goes on for years as i would like to check out the anime.
That Amiya -> Donkey transition really cracks me up
I CANT WAIT FOR YOUR STORY REACTIONS :D
Imo starting whenever in arknights is a big whatever,
the only thing that you missout (currently) is a few limited banner and the R6 collab, but to me the limited banner are *kind of* a novelty since (for me atleast) I end up not using those limited ops alot except W since she bring something kind of unique in afk/stalling strats.
If you don't mind waiting for the older event to return and a long* catching up process then it shouldn't really matter when you start playing
*long here to me is depends on what ops you want and how far do you want to build your squad, to me it's only take like 1-2 months of playing casually [like playing at most 2 aday to clear dailies and expend sanity] to get to the comfort zone which is having my core ops to E2 and the rest are just 3-4 stars filler or for sub strats
Arknights is a really F2p Friendly game if you pull on the Right banners you want you can actually keep up with the current Events plus they give out tons of free stuff monthly not only that but the Pity is just so great for new Dokutahs playing the game
Damn, this game changed a lot over the years. If only it wasn't a tower defense game and I would love to play it again. Music is a fucking banger and art too.
Olaa, welcome to arknights community fellow doktah !!
Never forget him
"Ace"
This man is farther into the story than I am and I've been playing for 2 years. Also, I've very jealous that you have Ling.
starting right now isnt that bad, you should be able to easily reroll
catching up only matters if you plan to play the game for a long time
I joined since 2020, only Max Lvl 120 just a month ago. Yup, insane game, cool operators, fantastic stories and side stories!
The only reason i start to install this game is because i was stressed out playing Wild Rift
I started playing arknights relatively late (around January 2022), and it's honestly been quite the experience, especially for a gacha game.
I only look forward to the future of this game, and nothing more.
Just started playing this update and I'm having a blast
coming to this video bc I took a longish break(last played map was 7-1) and holy shit all the menus and game modes give me anxiety
Came for the gangsta penguin, stayed for the banger soundtracks and the DRIP. OH LAWD THE DRIP
I love Aoi too and I have Nian since my day 1 in Arknights, she's my 2nd 6 star btw.
"I'll read it for you" now THAT is a strong point
The only thing that you'll be missing out if you start now are the limited operators, but since like, only 2 or 3 (if you count Skadi) of 9 of them are busted, and the game doesnt require anyone of them to complete. You can either skip and not worry about them, or you can try to save up 300 pulls to get them on a limited banner where you literally get like 50 pulls for free anyway. Also there is a chance you dont even need 300 pulls since these limiteds have a higher chance to spook you than a specific offbanner anyway
Oh yeah, the R6S ops have a good chance to never rerun and never appear as offbanners aswell so thats that. But the only really good ones are Ash and maybe Tachanka anyway
As a player that starts playing the game since 2 years ago. Imma say, its never to late to play arknights whenever u are. Its fun, f2p friendly, and got so many great music in it. So give it a shot, im sure u guys love it :3
been playin this game since release, the only problem that u could have if u play around this time is limited characters that ur missing out, otherwise its pretty f2p friendly(would still recommend saving up for limited banners, cus mostly those have some good characters)
You didn't mention the most important part. The game is generous as hell. You have tone of free resources and at least 3 pity mechanics. You're guarantee to get a 5 star or higher in first 10 roll on every banner, even limited, so it's actually viable to just roll up to 10 rolls on every banner, to get a steady income of higher rarity OPs. Sure, if you want specific operator game can still troll you and sometimes you'll need to spend money, but because developers aren't blatantly greedy and you feel like you actually get your money worth, it's first gacha game where I didn't feel like I need to spend, but rather want to spend money. You can actually get a lot of resources from just spending a little money every month and saving rolls for banners you really care about or limited ones. Monthly card has incredible value, as it gives you enough in-game currency for 1 10 roll and 1800 sanity worth of potions for just measly 5 dollars.
its never too late to play Arknights! its just keep getting Qol/content-wise! 👍
1:25 THAT TRANSITION THO GOD DAMN
Second
Waifu is Akafuyu
But vibes too with other waifuable chars
(And must protecc remains as MUST PROTECC)
I'm getting back into it too!
i subscribed because you said you will read out loud arknights story for us. please deliver
Honestly, even if you start late on arknights you still can catch up with all veterans due to more information about units that you need/ often use.
Kinda regret the fact i uninstalled the game just right after invitation wine event started im missing a lot of those frees pull lmao
As a battle cats player, I really wanna play this now. Let's just hope my mind wouldn't be overloaded because this game looks more complicated than battle cats.
As a returning doctor. I feel overwhelmed with all the changes
Similar reason for me, but change Nian with Mostima.
Though, I do need the game to have: good characters, good gameplay and a good story, if one of those are weak, then I will drop it eventually.
I went and make a whole channel to talk about this damn game, so you may guess it has all three.
So if you are new: the difficulty is just right and the lore is rewarding, so if you are the kind to get attached to fictional characters, you come to the right place. Not to mention, the gacha rates are quite generous, IMO.
So, what I want to say is: Welcome home Doctor.
Wish I had started this game way back. Unfortunately the constant, crappy ads left me skeptical. Even with the reviews and amazing music videos, it feels way too late to start.
Looking forward to seeing cover the story used to play it bad at the gameplay, got tedious seeing CZcams videos on how to clear , third I almost got sucked in because of the skins so I stopped sadly😞
I’ve been wanting to continue reading but every time I see the word counting I always delay it 🌚 note not going to lie when UD started reading I got spoiled it’s much better when someone is reading it for me 👀🙈
