    Another great review! Seriously, your channel has the most thorough comparisons I've seen on CZcams. Also, I picked up a TurboSound ip300 on Ebay for about $250 after watching one of your videos. So glad I did - outstanding! Thanks, Bill! Thumbs up!

      Appreciate the compliment! $250 for an iP300 is an incredible deal. You can't even get a JBL Boombox for that money!

    Either $500 top over a $350 Behringer B1200 sub, for a total of $850 will equal or outperform the current $1,200 column arrays on the market!

    I mentioned the Bose S1Pro in the video. The Bose has an internal battery but can not perform even close to either of these speakers! I do love the S1Pro though for its super small size and light weight.

    QSC = Plug and Play vs Turbosound More of a learning curve, setting up Apps, menu diving, getting the right gain structure. For a live situation QSC is much faster. iP300 much more flexible and Firmware updates in the future might add even more ability??

    Hi Bill. I watch the video & read comments. I learned from you, high end speakers doesn’t mean you’ll get the best sound. Glad to know your here helping us to decide which is better PA speakers now. I’m searching for a good quality speakers for karaoke for home use & seldom for outdoor karaoke. I would really appreciate your recommendation. Thank you

    Forgot to mention: QSC CP8 doesn't have any type of built in reverb. Turbosound through the App does have a very basic reverb.

    Thank you for the great content as always Bill! Been waiting on this comparison video. It sounds like for a single speaker setup for small indoor up close & personal instrumental gigging I’ll go with the iP300 (I have been looking at the IMO overpriced $1200+ line arrays anyway). I don’t know how big you are on accessories, but could you recommend me a small lightweight speaker stand to go along with this unit? It doesn’t even have to go up too high as I will be playing seated. Thanks!

      Thanks, glad you like the channel. iP300 is a great way to go. Ultimate Support is the best stand I know of. Probably more than you need for the 26lbs Turbosound but you will be set for anything that comes up in the future! www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BG2I6/?tag=pldjblog-20

    Btw, as i mentioned earlier…. I called qsc about an application and i got a fabulous, usa based, competent consult from qsc !! Try calling Bose now about an application! A twenty year ild girl in India scrambling through technical sales brochures ! Bose is dead! Just a matter of time ! Survival in this game, is scrambling and investing in usa based manufacturing ! That is, if we all aren’t scrambling for a meal by thanksgiving ! And it could go either way!

    Bill…. If the 8.2 was available below $700 it would be sold out!!! Where can i get just one! ? I goofed, invested in a second Bose S1 instead of a second 8.2 now my shows are a bit bigger and need that 8.2 !

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety

      Did I say $700? K8.2 is now $820. S1 Pro is my barbecue/pool speaker wouldn't consider it for gigging. You don't need a stereo 8.2 pair for live sound. What you need is a speaker that adds some mids to the super bright QSC and a speaker with similar output to the 8.2. Two choices that will add some smooth mids, JBL or Yamaha. New JBL EON710/712 or Yamaha DBR10/12. Incredibly low prices for this quality. Even if the K8.2 was in stock I would rather go with this pairing. Only thing is you will be playing dual mono not stereo, your audience will NEVER know the difference. Did you see my video on the Yamaha DBR10? czcams.com/video/cU6eQQuavjI/video.html

    Hi Bill, after watching so many reviews I think I'm down to 3 options to pair my existing Bose S1 pro. cost is not compared in these options. First, get 2 x turbosound ip300. Second option, get one S1 pro and Sub 1 (for the sake of using all bose system). Third choice is get 2 X Yamaha DBR10. Which one in your opinion is the best for vocals/karaoke (my current s1 pro keeps turning into red lights when singing the high and powerfull notes unless I turn down the mic volume).
    I really want that sweet warm 200-300hz low mids range. I will probably never use the system for DJ proposes, so low end bass may not be important?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety

      S1 Pro/Sub1 won't solve your clipping problem at all. Of the remaining two the Yamaha DBR10 or iP300 the Yamaha has the smoother mids you are looking for. 2 DBRs would be great sounding and MUCH more powerful/ headroom than the Bose S1Pro. Low bass for karaoke is not needed so pass on a subwoofer. Have you considered the JBL EON710? czcams.com/video/aqxJnV3g7_I/video.html

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz Hi Bill, as always thanks for your quick reply. I googled some prices and found that its only about $50ish more a large 12" than 10" of a same model speaker. Do you think a 12" has a more full and punchy sound comparing to a 10" when playing on same volume?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety +2

      @@Goforit8866 No, keyboardist who are very picky about full range CLEAN sound prefer a 10" over a 12". For example the QSC K8.2 is more popular than the K10.2 and almost zero musicians go with the K12.2. 12" has a tighter dispersion than 10" meaning the 10" will fill the room better. 12" more low mids will lose some clarity on the top end. All depends if you are using a subwoofer. 12" will go down slightly lower. Using a subwoofer there is no advantage. 12" will usually go louder. Same volume, no advantage at all. My most high fidelity and expensive PA speaker is the RCF TT10. I never considered the 12" because I use it with a sub and don't need any extra volume. 12" is a DJ speaker/live band speaker, who want max volume and a tight beam to hit the dance floor. DJs without subs go with 15" to fill in that missing low end and max volume. For fidelity/clarity 10" over sub is my best rig! For Karaoke better vocal clarity with 10" over 12.

    If I were to use the iP300 with a sub, does the sub have to have the crossover or are there options in the speaker to cross it over with a sub?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety +2

      No, Turbosound has no x over. Only Sub that has x over is RCF702/705 or go with the new tops JBL EON710 or 712 which has high pass filter settings/sub settings from the APP and sounds equal to the Turbosound! That will be my next video, but not in the near future.
