TV writers completely whitewashed her character. She's a bigger c*nt than Rhaenyra in the books...
Yeah, she's excellent and underrated. You get this sense of jealousy when she's getting mad at Rhaenyra because of how free she gets to be whilst she is essentially stuck in the system. Her facial acting is so good.
I hope we get to know Laenor a bit better. His intro in episode 3 mocking his uncle and then whooping while riding his dragon was great.

My thoughts exactly! She's all "oh, she lied to me", but hiding the fact that she plotted to seduce the king, and manipulated him for weeks, or maybe months even behind Rhaenyra's back is like completely justifided and ok. Alicent is disgusting. And a hypocrite.
Alicent was chosen as Queen. She was considered old enough and Viserys had affection for her as more than just a broodmare. The King marrying his 12-year old cousin for political gain would have been much, much worse.

Love this show its been so good. Glad that G R R Martin has had huge input with the episodes even tho everything doesn't follow the book exactly. The show is still in the same spirit as the book Fire & Blood
The books are written from Targaryen hating maesters perspective and 3rd personaccounts, thus GRR Martin said they are unreliable source
Yeah the book has so little first hand dialogue so the show has loads of room for added conversation or even confirmation the maesters or mushroom version of things. I’m hoping for a lot more of mushrooms versions of events

With Daemon & Viserys’s parents being brother and sister, it’s odd that either one of them would be freaked out by an uncle and his niece getting together. That doesn’t make sense.

Honestly Viserys seems more concerned that Daemon is already married and Rhaenyra is expected to get married soon so her ‘maidenhood’ is important. Political reasons, basically.

The story is about to get crazy once visery dies. Will be a shame to see milly be replaced but hopefully in future seasons they can bring her back for flashbacks. And I can’t wait for Aemond Targaryen

3:50 this marriage part was a GOOD delete. It helped to created the mystery, tension & distance with the viewer between them.
Alicent is much like the early Sansa from the OG series. Do as she's expected/told....also like Sansa, she balls out later on. Solid mirroring across shows.
I have to disagree. In the beginning, Sansa started off believing heavily in the fantasy surrounding chivalry and the idea of being into royalty until her father was executed and she was held hostage. Alicent started off treated like a chess piece for her father's ambitions. Did what she was told with little reward then took her anger where it didn't belong. I believe Sansa & Alicent are two different kettles of fish.

Guess they only wanted to show one major wedding this season. Maybe they'll use it next season to show how the girls were when they were younger, but Alicent's look is beautiful!
I'm sure we'll get another. There's another wedding in the main trailer for the show. Daemon has two more wives after his first.

SPOILER ALERT: My friend worked as an associate costumer designer and he told me that they made a twist major twist where laener was caught on GRINDR during the wedding then a fight broke out.

i really liked milly alcock as rhaenyra. was kinda bummed to hear theyre getting switched out in later episodes. i wasnt aware of that until this week. mostly avoided news etc. about the show, this is pretty much the first video ive seen about the show.

I didn't take it as him leaving their little tryst in Fleabottom as him getting freaked out and booking it. Everything he did with her was planned. He wanted to be spotted with her to get the rumors starting. It's why he took her hat off so people would realize who she was. His intentions were not to actually get freaky with his niece, even though she was getting into it. He figured she would have that reaction, and that furthered the people around to see it and think more was happening than truly was to perpetuate the rumors. The whole thing was his plan from having the clothes and the note in her room to making sure his wife's "little birds" were around to see and spread gossip. He knew that it would get back to everyone and cause a rift. So, I don't agree with your assessment that he got freaked out and just left.
That's what the showrunners said. Daemon wanted to be in control and shock Rhaenyra but she was excited instead. That made him went limp and also because he knew deep down what he was doing was wrong.

I'm a little annoyed because this GoT original show had Lannister who took the throne legit as cersai was married to Robert but put her son on throne as incest child then we have sister brother incest of Targaryen have their child on the throne but no one in HoTD even mention that the current king and Damon are incest babies but the the king V is repulsed by having child bride or his brother marring the niece or betrothing her to her step brother although it would stop infighting - it's annoy that show has me defending incest but i just want a clear stance beside the faith made exception to it for Targaryen..and apparenty Lannisters later on....is this something we have to show if it is so frowned upon by everyone or what exactly is king V view on all these things ?

@@itowilltube we don't know if their parents were siblings on the show. That's only the inference of book readers. Casual viewers might not know that or even think about it. I get the inconsistencies but there aren't many if at all to the casual viewers. The Targaryen marriage customs aren't favored in Westeros like they were in Old Valyria. Perhaps that's why King Viserys I is repulsed at a child bride and unapproving of Daemon and Rhaenyra's alleged coupling.
It's not his wife's "little birds" it's his whore's "little birds". Misarya isn't his wife. Also, Daemon planned to go through with it but once Rhaenyra was into it he lost control of the situation.
They also cut the scene where deamon stole the engg which was there on first trailer

Whoa - you reeeeally see the beauty in the detailing of the costuming & Beauty dept. in these slow mo cuts that is missed in- motion. Honestly - the episodes feel too short because the story and casting are awesome. I wish these scenes hadn't been deleted - it seems unnecessary, wasteful - cheated!
Really seems like old times with our fave GoT/ASoIaF analysts like Charlie. Although imo there will never be another GoT S1-4, HotD is so far exceeding expectations.

Every cut is understandable except for the wedding. Honestly, why?
Probably just didn’t add anything to the story and was adding additional confusion to the time jump - we already knew they were getting married, and then saw the son next episode. A wedding from midway in between that would have been messy.
@@Zveebo It didn't add anything plot wise, I agree, but it would have made for a poignant moment between the two girls, showing how they have traded places in terms of hierarchy.
@@Mi_Pi Possibly, but I think they are trying to stick to one time period each episode to keep the time jumps more understandable, and this just didn’t add enough to justify including a different period. Hopefully it might pop up on a flashback or something!

that was a really ugly wedding dress/outfit. I'm kind of glad they cut those scenes. Despite the ugly dress it would have been nice to see Rhaenyra helping Alicent dressing for the wedding. Rhaenyra and Alicent being very affectionate with each other seems to me to be typical teen age overly affections to me. Looking forward to seeing how the "older" cast does.

Daemon knew what he was doing with Rhaenyra. He was teaching her a lesson. He deliberately left her feeling horny. I took the slap against the wall as frustration because having sex wasnt the plan and it's hard (boom tsh) to walk away when both parties want it.
Unfortunately they said in the inside the episode interview that Daemon couldn't keep it up because he wasn't in control anymore. Rhaenyra took over and he didn't like it, and he was also starting to feel guilty.

My only gripe with the show is the pacing. It's weird. It's too slow but it's also too fast. The huge time jumps caused me whiplash.

@@MyUniqueVibe there was just one line in one Episode that mentioned a two year time jump. so its not really easy to follow sometimes. has nothing to do with paying attention.
@@MichaSennin I never had an issue with telling when the time-jumps occurred. It was natural enough to not be jarring. Plus, when you realize the chapters from the Fire & Blood book this show is adapted from spans literal decades, there is no way to have the show progress without these jumps in time as not doing it would force them into making boring filler-content as nothing important happened between the time-jumps.
@@MichaSennin They have a two year old child so that’s a HUGE hint of how much time has passed, in E3. In E4, Daemon mentions it’s been four years since he’d last seen Rhaenyra. The tour to find a husband took a year.
