- In writing this book, I knew a variety of children would be reading it and I wanted it to be as accessible as possible. I've partnered with the Described and Captioned Media Program and Imagination Storybooks to bring this book to life with voice descriptions and ASL captioning. Happy reading!
This is a book that I wish was here 23 years ago when my son was little we spent so much time trying to inform people that stared at his braces ..we would stop and say rather than stare and point you should stop and talk my son at 6 was so excited to explain himself he loved telling people about his braces and how he got them ..as soon as I'm able I will be purchasing this for my granddaughter... BETH thank you so much for such an amazing book this is going to teach so so many people not just children adults too ♥️

This book is absolutely beautiful. I am not deaf nor blind, but I still wanted to watch this to see the signs, hear the descriptions and so I could read the book! I don’t have my own money, so I can’t buy it on my own, but at least I can listen to it here! I especially liked the representation with Bates, because I have anxiety and adhd! Thank you for writing this, and I hope you will continue to write about more kids with disabilities! Sending love to you and Coop! (I hope he gets lots of chickens for Christmas!)

I loved the book I can't afford one , but listening and learning to read signs I loved it I also have Autism, OCD, and hearing loss.
This book is wunderfull. Will it be tranclated in other languges? This is a masage that all children all around the world need to hear ❤

I have autism and i love the representation i just wouldve enjoyed it more if it mightve been a girl as we are severely underdiagnosed as the only main studies have been on white males.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for adding audio description! I’m legally blind, and though I can see and read with one eye (and my glasses 🤓), I do love having the audio to my favourite books for when my eyes are exhausted.
I know I’ve said it before that this book is the book that felt like it included me. For, you know, the first time in 38 years. But honestly, the minute I clicked on this video, and heard the cover art being described, I literally cried (happy tears, obviously) - that little addition to what is already a favourite book - I definitely feel not so alone in the world, so thank you! 🥹
