So many people don’t understand this, and lots of Jamaican fans just say ridiculous things. We americans have learned this from Jamaicans…stop running too fast too early, as it causes folks to run slow by the time of trials. It’s almost like Trayvon Brommell during 2021, whom was in 9.7 shape all season, then slow in the games despite the fact he said his body still felt amazing.
This is a Jamaican baby they taught us all about…if one runs too fast too soon the muscle fibers tear a certain way that can possibly prevent one from ever running that time again, and even the CNS doesn’t always respond well to the adjustment. Plus, running too fast early gives folks the opportunity to know what they’re working with and how to beat you. But more scary is he said he was trying to run slow and those fast times came out!
Well if u read what he said after the race and he’s coach’s directives was to focus on the first 60m and shut it down

Just remember athletes run off coaches instructions, so sometimes to give a good analysis u can't use the time but how he/she executes the race and have an idea of what actual time the athlete will do if just run 60m and shut it down the next 40m then you'll know what to come if the athlete goes all out. Bolt is a good example in '08 he did 9.69 after shutting it down after about 85m then we knew what's next as what he did in Berlin that 9.58 sec.
