Hi Frank! I’m going to do this too plus Quindio in mid March! Woohoo can’t wait.
So… I do love my wellies/pantaneras but I use them to walk my dogs. I still haven’t warmed up with the idea of wearing them on a 20km hike. Especially the weather is quite humid, can be hot, and those rubber boots will just make my feet sweaty. And with no ankle support and a lot of movement of your feet inside, I think those factors might have contributed to the guide getting blisters!
I hope it won’t be too muddy, it’s supposed to be the end of summer. So fast and light trail runners with gaiters for me I think, for the beginning?🤔 argh! Can’t decide.
And yes, I was already planning to bring my own sleeping bag….
Did you have to bring any of your own snacks from Salento, or is everything included/provided. I eat a lot… I did a cycling trip once and didn’t eat enough at group dinner and woke up hungry in the middle of the night… don’t wanna wake up hungry and cold…
oh and lastly, do you recommend a ski pants for the summit, or just good winter climbing trousers. The gaiters will keep my lower legs waterproofs. I like my ski pants, don’t want it ripped against some sharp rocks… I heard the last section is quite technical.
And last question 😅 will you come back and do it again?!

@@COLOMBIAFRANK mate keep the video snowflake free then... it's plain rude to the culture and person in question... as they might not be able to even afford new gear like you and me would.
Just saying U are crossing a border for some ppl with your comments... don't fight it... just see it as advice for future videos
