why does Nigeria have a English sounding anthem? After getting there independence, I thought it would change.

Nigeria was a British colony while Namibia was a German. Sounds similar but it's a huge difference.

This National Anthem was composed by a Nigerian and not the British. The Anthem bequeathed to us by the British was dropped in 1978
