I got the caulking tape for my toilet. It helps a lot when you see somebody do it first. This video was helpful. I was procrastinating all day. I didn't want to go through issues. But suddenly, I just did it. It went great!! Only on the round curbs was challenging. Hope it doesn't unglue. The hubby put the caulking glue a bit messy as time went by it gathered dirt and just was bad looking. When I got it, he said, " it was my deal" 😅. Let's see how well this goes spending the money!!
I don’t know how the tub is holding out my buddy sold the house, we were just getting this done that needed a little attention. Thanks for watching and subscribing
So funny I just bought some.of this and my neighbor told me it was not good enough to keep water out so I took it back and removed my old caulking and put nice fresh new caulk my shower looks brand new now. Good job 👍
@@horsleyretirementadventure6443 Hi - I have a question. I live in a very old APT bldg - and recently had a friend re-caulk the old porcelain bathtub that is ancient. In any case, that was just finished about 13 hrs ago and it has cracks in it already (the gap in the joint was kinda big greather than 1/2 inch). I can't go through recaulking with silicone again (for health reasons). Would you advise using Sealant caulking tape to just overlay the "new caulk" - after it has another 12+ hrs to dry? Please advise. Thank you so much. I want to take a bath :*(
Did your friend remove the old caulk first? Also for tubs you use caulking specific for tubs/showers and they have some that drys faster. If it’s just small cracks you’re most likely safe to take a bath without getting it wet. This magic caulk is okay but if you have a lot of curves to go around it’s better to use regular caulk, but the correct kind. Sure wish we had pictures to see what it looks like. Last think, caulk should never crack so I’m assuming he used the wrong stuff.
@@horsleyretirementadventure6443 Hi Paul. Thank you for replying. Yes the old corroded caulk was removed. We used DAP KWIK tub and tile silicone caulk for the entire perimeter of the old Tub. and within hours the length of the Tub seam was cracking. The bathtub drain clogs up easily and Ive been cleaning like a nut trying to get off any skinned over excess caulk on the rounded ledges of the old porcelainn tub (from the caulking job yesterday at 12:00pm EST) - as it can easily get crumbly once the bath faucet is turned on.
Thanks for the video! I bought this being hopeful. I have to remove the caulk job I did because.. it turned out terrible. I honestly don't like the way this looks though. Oddly, my Magic Peel & Stick Caulk "Tub and Wall" appears to be roughly half the width of what is shown in this video. Still, there is a gap between the adhesive and the top of the rubber material which I can't imagine would be good long term.
One piece of the surround is bowing out. I tried using that Loctite from Home Depot, but it just popped out again. Maybe this tape will hold it in place and would look better than duct tape.
Hi, it's been a year now and how is it going? Seeing lots of bad reviews about this product make me wondering if it lasts long or just peels off after a short period? Anyway, thanks for sharing!
I dont get it. If the caulk is the sticky, tan colored stuff on the one side, what is the plastic or rubber white part for? I get pull the clear film side off, stick to surface, then what? Leave the white part on? That really isnt caulking then, its just gluing the white part down. Im returning this.
Sure. Looks great at first, but within a month it will start pulling away, water gets inside and behind it. Waste of time and money. No matter how well you clean the old chalk away, and clean to perfection, and do all the correct prep, it will turn out as a very disappointing product.
@@horsleyretirementadventure6443I use caulking and caulking gun the caulking is cheaper DAP Alex Plus waterproof at walmart $2.97 cheaper then the magic caulk tape it’s $7-$8 doesn’t work from what I read from hundreds of reviews. The caulking is more messy and doesn’t look as nice when applying it but at least it stays on and protects around the tub unlike the Magic tape which comes off 💩💩💩👎👎👎
Sorry to say but it looks bloody awful! It looks like it is lifting off the bath and wall already. glad I saw your video as I was considering using that. saved me a few quid.
Yeah mine starting lifting off the tub pretty quickly. Then to correct my blunder I had to spend time scraping off all the adhesive with a razor blade, before caulking the tub properly (at least I hope I did it properly)
BEAUTIFUL JOB PAUL. Thank you for sharing and teaching. Love yall ❤
I just rec'd my Caulk Tape today. It was easy, and watching your video was very helpful applying the tape in the corners. Thank you!!!!
Very cool!! Glad it worked for you! Thanks for watching and subscribing as well.
Nice video. Very friendly and informative.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I appreciate that
Hi Paul. Oh yeah just in time. Our tub needs it. I will let hubby watch when he comes in from garden. Awesome
Aweful product
No doubt, it’s only used temporarily
Very nice

Thanks for watching and subscribing!! Sounds like you did a great job!
Haha this made me smile. Girl power! So how did it turn out? Is it still holding up?
I don’t know how the tub is holding out my buddy sold the house, we were just getting this done that needed a little attention. Thanks for watching and subscribing
Thank you
You guys look like you are having a good time. :)
We try to make all our videos fun! Thanks for watching and subscribing!! I appreciate you taking time to watch
Well done
Thanks for watching and subscribing!!!
Thank you. I just bought this and I’m thinking I will return it and use silicone caulking I used previously.
Smart! The key is to remove all the old stuff first, then only use a small bead, wet your finger when you smooth it out. Good luck!
Thank you. I have almost the same setup. I was wondering my how it worked for you and how you did rounded corners
Thanks for watching good luck and take your time!!

Chris want a quick fix to a crack so hopefully this works but you are right it’s not too good.

Why did i just wave back to Chris?! 😅
Too funny

Thanks for asking, this stuff doesn’t too long! I used only to help show my friend’s house. I wouldn’t trust it for a long period.
@@horsleyretirementadventure6443 Thanks for the quick reply, wish all the best for your retirement!
Can use this application around the toilet base?
I would not use it, if you have a leak around a toilet it usually means you need to change the wax ring. You don’t caulk around toilets.

It’s not really a good product, used only for short period
My experience is that when it gets dirty around the edges it's impossible to clean.
Thanks for the info sir!!!
Don't use this. Did this and didnt know water seeping thru. Ended up having to replace board behind and the tiles. This stuff bad!
Good information to share!!!thank you!

Ok for a loo but shit for around the bath 🎉
You’re right about that!!
You could have mitered the corners
Yes that would have been much better! Thanks for the tip!
This dude only showing it installed but when he used the tub afterwards I’m pretty sure it came off lol.
I’m not sure if it did or not, I was trying it out for a friend who sold the house. Quick fix to make it look better at the time.

Didn't show the tough part. Demonstrate a relief cut and caulk
You are correct

It’s terrible actually! The best way is to use grout!! I’m glad you watched!
I personally don't like the look this product offers. I would have cried if my landlord chose this idea. Holmes would not approve either.
I used these strips. Never again
Yep that was the last time I try them! My buddy Chris needed a quick fix to sell his house.
Yeah mine starting lifting off the tub pretty quickly. Then to correct my blunder I had to spend time scraping off all the adhesive with a razor blade, before caulking the tub properly (at least I hope I did it properly)
Nope
lol smart! I only tried this to help out a friend selling their house.
This does not work at all
It’s only good for straight jobs
Garbage. It will come off as soon as it gets wet
Yep it really is not like advertised
It doesn't work . Don't buy this
You are correct 👍
Too dark, I can't really see the details
Sorry I blame my camera man.
