After watching Shadic take Santa Paws 2023, I thought it'd be a nice time to join in on the Corrin hype! Corrin is my 2nd favorite character in Ultimate and I am so glad she is a meta threat, now. She helps Marth in tough MUs and it is nice to co-main her.
It was a pleasant surprise to see Corrin make it so far in one year.
She's the cutest FE lord and one of the hottest FE characters in the series and that was more than enough for me to pick her up as a co-main.

I've been playing Corrin since day 1, and knew the character is underestimated.
My thoughts on Corrin are definitely higher than what they used to be. Before her buffs, I thought she was a low tier, then after the buffs I thought she was an upper mid tier. Now, I think she's a solid high tier.
Could recency bias have something to do with it? Perhaps, but it is still good to see Corrin get some exposure. She's a pretty entertaining character. Now, I just hope Marth can reach similar heights to her.
I always thought Corrin is really good. I thought the character is around low high tier. I always enjoy watching SHADIC so it's such a fun journey seeing how SHADIC player that trust Corrin the most move his placement as a player alongside his trusted Corrin as character.
I think early 2023 I believe Corrin is upper high tier. Maybe borderline Top tier. Before R&G Tea put Corrin in top 15 which make me hopeful but still kinda skeptical. But then LMMM happen and also Santa Paws. Now you know what Tea is right i believe that Corrin might actually be top 15 in current meta. So now we just need to wait if Tea prediction on Zelda being a high tier is correct.
Zelda being low high tier in this meta isn't too far fetched when camping and zoning is so strong. She has some pretty good buttons, too.
I think the main thing holding her back is the lack of will to develop her gameplay. Someone has to push her, but so many people say she sucks and is lame. It can be difficult for anyone to get into pushing her.
@@Spyder-Marth Zelda and Doc Mario are probably the most promising "Low Tier" in the current meta. Honestly if people said Doc is Mid Tier or borderline high I'm not going to complain.

I feel like Corrin has almost taken Lucina's place in the meta. They combo harder and hit harder, and insta pin is so fast and lethal it can just hit places you would never believe. If Sephiroth ever UpBs into the ledge, you just hit that and he probably won't make it back.

Corrin was my main for the first 2 or 3 years after Smash Ultimate was released.
I also only used them during a high school esports tournament in March 2020, and ultimately got 7th place.
Guess I was ahead of the curve.
Spargo is now starting to use Corrin
I think corrins greatest strength is her ability to punish neutral airdodge fastfall to stage, which naturally means the opponent needs to go for more ledge resets, then she has insane ledge trapping and one of the best two frames in the game to work with. Definitely in an insane character in the defensive meta we are in where she can really force the advantage situations that she wants.
As a Corrin main. I knew this long ago, and I'm happy people finally realized.
Corrin has really good match ups, I think most of them are favorable or even.
Also, she is very versatile and has good mixups. You can use the pin in a lot of ways, break shield with f smash...
Corrin is the character that got me to acclimate from PP, MrG&W, and Kirby to being decent at around 80% of the roster

Because I mained her in smash 4 and was scared with how bad she was at ultimate launch I was convinced she was trash until about 3 months ago. Finally using her again in tournament.

I can't believe there's talk that Corrin is considered better than Roy. Damn the meta changes hard, and it's been two years since the game signed off.
What is currently happening with Corrin is mainly the professional use that many of the current Top Players give him. Starting with MKleo, since it was he who laid the first stone by winning Delfino
Then; Also add to the changes in the meta, with such a habit of seeing the best characters in tournaments; Not studying the rest of the Match Ups made Corrin have better development. In any case; I will think about continuing practicing with it to improve what is necessary. In my opinion, there is no doubt that she is not the best swordsman in Smash, but in terms of results, only Cloud and the Aegis can surpass him (I will use the boy Corrin more; it is good to have his female version, but we must remember that he also has a male version that deserves to be taken into account).

they have equalish aerial speed, but she still has to approach ROB.
But with her disjoints and combo game plus ROB being a big body who’s easy to combo and is susceptible to 2-frames (considering how slow his up-b rises), it’s not too hard to envision. All it takes is one stray hit to open up the world for corrin in that matchup. If it’s not corrin favored it’s even minimum.
I really want to say low S tier but I'd be fine with high hightier.
Results don't make a character top tier, not in the slightest. Corrin isn't some secret top tier, the players are just dedicated and the character is just generally quite good. I say this as a smash coach and FE character specialist for several years, who has used and believed strongly in Corrin since early patches, so don't get the idea that I'm not a believer in the character.
Agreed, I think some people severely overrate certain characters just because one person is doing really well with them. Look no further than Cloud, a very good character but is being played by a player that is top 2 and may very well be number 1. As a result people will take Sparg0s results and use that to say Cloud is better than he is
If results didn't make the character top tier. Why did no one think Steve Top 1 until Acola and Onin won multiple Major???

Id argue corrin is even better than cloud due to a better combo game and recovery. When we look at any tier list we dont see cloud as S tier, but Sparg0 with cloud - there is no one else at this level And sprag0 also beat sonix with his unpolished corrin.
